Expression of emotion varies depending on the person's willingness to show it.

And not showing any doesn't mean not feeling anything.

Everyone needs to find their own comfort level, and even that might vary depending on the circumstances.

Refer to the quote in my status.

"There is a sacredness in
tears. They are not the mark
of weakness, but of power.
They speak more eloquently
than ten thousand tongues.
They are the messengers of
overwhelming grief, of deep
contrition, and of unspeakable
love."

Crying is cringe worthy, take your bullshit somewhere else, it has no room in this thread.

You don't have to cry, you can express your emotion in other ways. Or should I say you'll be forced to express your emotion in other ways, that's how humans work.

Incorrect, real men don't give a damn, a real man would cry in front of an entire nation and feel no shame afterwards.
You're weak.

Well when your child dies, let us know how much of a "man" you are.

Not only has my dad died, but a very close friend I thought I'd be with forever; I've never cried once.
"Life's a ***** and then you die"
Death isn't something to cry over; there's nothing you can do about it.

Just my 2 cents.

Why isn't it something to cry about? Not everyone believes in life after death. Some see it as the end of life, oblivion. If that is the case, then you will never see your friend or father ever again and the time you could have spent with them was taken from you.

That's exactly why you would cry, because there is nothing you can do about it.

Unlike a father or a friend, one's child dying is on a different scale. A child hasn't even experienced life and all hope that laid on that child to be your family's successor has vanished. A parent outliving their child is devastating.

Every man can hold in tears but eventually you will cry when the realization finally hits you that they are dead. With men, that realization just doesn't click instantly and we think we can endure anything.

But when you get older and really think about what happened, you will shed some tears.

Look at that; a dude wearing his tough male bravado on his sleeve and then clamouring about it behind the computer screen. They always said I'll find colourful people on NB. I am not disappointed. I love the fact how OP believes that manliness is defined by his own established stick.

My grand-father served in the military, and in the police. He fought the 1965 war, and worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He cried profusely when my grand mother died. If you even possess a few dregs of his strength as a man, then you would be worth something, or rather, I'll hold you in my estimate. But sadly, you are just a worthless jester out for attention.

You don't cry? WOW man, that is so damn cooool! I want to be like you on the internet when I grow up.

True, I don't think there is anything wrong with mourning your loved ones, when I was making this thread I was thinking about life's more mundane circumstances we find ourselves in on a daily basis, I wish I have the same strength as you if I ever have to face a similar situation of losing a loved one.

Death isn't sad why should I cry?
Truth of the matter is we cry for ourselves, not the loved one that passed away. It's our way of releasing the attachment and dealing with the fact that they're never coming back or we won't see them again(never know for sure, if there is life after death we might very well see each other again). But yeah you're not crying because they're dead, you're crying because you lost them.

If I were to tie your limbs, and shoot them with an m16 until they are amputated, try to conceal those screams and tears. Anyone can cry, man or a women doesn't matter. Men might be more resilient, or good at concealing their emotions, maybe, but saying "god, I'm amazing cause I don't cry" makes you seem like some weeaboo nerd over this forum.

I would feel extreme pain and scream like a ***** but I wouldn't cry considering I'll die of blood loss in a minute.
