Me and Itachi49 have come to a disagreement in a Sasori vs Kakashi thread. He claims Kakashi's base speed = that of 6th Gate Gai because of this page:

I disagreed and argued my point by saying:

Gai is restricting his speed because their plan of attack didn't call for him using his full speed in gates. Which is superior to his base speed.

Look at Lee, a genin, using only 5 gates:

He's a flash, you can't even see him.

Gai, in 6 gates vs Kisame, goes straight from the bottom to right in Kismaes face in a flash:

You seriously think Kakashi's base speed can keep up with 6 Gates open?

Yes, Gai is boosted in terms of strength and speed..if he needs it. He doesn't move in a flash automatically, he can control himself. He's mastered using the gates.

Kakashi couldn't keep up with a full speed Gai in 6 gates. That's stupid to think.

And the beasts were running AT Kakashi and Gai. They didn't have to speed up to get to them.

And would have reduced them to ashes? Kakashi and Gai are more than capable of taking on a tailed beast. Together they're capable of fighting several.

And yes, I know 6th gate isn't Gai's full speed. But his full speed in 6th gates is matched by no character we've seen in base, unless you want to count Minato's FTG as a "base" speed. Gai was just running at his regular speed. No more, no less.

Do you realize what that means?

Kakashi could just zip around battlefields and raikiri everyone. He would have demolished Kakuzu because his masks wouldn't have been able to keep up with him. He would have used his amazing speed to dodge the arrow shot at him by Sasuke's Sussano instead of kamui, gotten behind him and just warped him away.

Kakashi has never shown ANYTHING that would = him with 6th gate speed. He would move in a flash..I don't think you understand how fast it is. It would make him the fastest base speed character in Naruto history. It would put him on a god tier.

And like I've kept saying, they're right in front of Kakashi and Gai. They have to attack immediately, they don't have to use flashy speed to get to them. And they can dodge without using super human speed.

Kakashi can't go as fast as someone in 6 gates. Like I said, if he did, he'd never get hit and he'd dominate every fight he's in.

Now what do you think? Do you see what Itachi49 is seeing? That Kakashi is as fast as 6th Gate Gai?

Or do you agree with me in saying there's no possible way that Kakashi can be that fast and he's just misjudging the page?

it's possible,kakashi was praised by nagato and tobi for his speed and by judjing this pic,i can see gai opening 6th gates because v2 beasts are enough fast to make trouble at naruto in km mode.

Not sure how to even compare the two, but I know enough to say Kakashi doesn't even touch that level of speed.

Remember when Gai and Kakashi made a contest of who will reach the Hokages' stone faces? when Kakashi was going to become a Hokage! (sadly he didn't)
They were close in speed, so how is Kakashi's speed = Gai with 6th gate's speed?

It does speed the user up. But it doesn't put them at some ungodly speed. Still very visible using regular eyesight. Where as the 5th Gate required Kakashi to use his sharingan to keep up, and even then, he struggled to keep up with it.

Well if it's true that gai was bringing himself down to Kakashi's speed then yes but thereis no clear proof that gai was bringing himself or not.

when you see that these tailed beast was able to keep up with naruto in km mode and bee , it's possible.
