He never from the very beginning was a villian. A villian doesnt take over the world, or seek power because they want to bring peace to the world. A villian does it because they are eager for power, or seek to inflict pain on people, or seek the have others go through what they did.
Obito was just an antagonist from the beginning. Madara is the closest thing to a villian the NV has. But even still, he is just a antagonist.
Villian= doing bad things for bad reasons and fights against the protagonist
Antagonist= doing good or bad things for any reasons(good or bad) that oppose the protagonist.
A antagonist could actually be a hero, if the protagonist is a villian.
I would also like to see guy go 8 gates. And while I disagree about your opinion of obito(i find his character development to be spot on, and very rich), I agree that his diologue can be irritateing.
You must really hate obito if you would rather have ten ten use sages tools and seal madara.
I very highly doubt that obito will absorb the juubi from madara, and that he will be the savior.
At most I see him fighting for a chapter or 2, then saveing naruto.(I personally think he is absorbing the power, to ultimately give to help naruto fight madara)
Here is what I can see happening. Obito absorbs chakra from the juubi. He seals the chakra maybe with yin kurama, into naruto, then attempts(not sure if he suceeds) at crushing the rinnegan eye(or perhaps goes into kamui realm where madara cant get it)
Kishi from very early on in the series has pushed "they new generation surpassing the old", and "entrusting the future to the next generation" many times. Also obitos quote this chapter " a leader lets his comrades step over his corpse, but wont step over their corpses" also points to him probably just going to help naruto.
But we can agree to disagree. I hope the next chapter you are more satisfied with, and dont dislike as much as this one.

I don't get and probably never will get why people call the war or the current plot crap. Actually, ever since Obito and his relation with Madara was revealed, I liked the dynamics between these two. I like all this past buildup with Madara corrupting Obito and Obito establishing Madara's plan through Akatsuki. I like the tragic backstories of Madara and Obito, and their speeches about achiving true peace and all this possibly corny stuff. Call me silly, but I completely dig it and think the manga is better than ever.

That is why it should'nt be Obito, because he got Tnj just like every other villains like Nagato ideals of peace. At first I didn't mind being Obito but now his reasoning is BS cause he thinks about Rin almost every chapter, we had endure all these speeches and flashback that just constantly milking the series so bad in 2013, and just when we thought obito out of the way when its finally Madara time to shine, Naruto was finally at its peak of this arc, the best moments which we never had for very long time, we thought we finally see a light that cleanse our souls.
But now Obito got up, he'll just simply give Naruto chakra to save his life which I find BS cause after the whole fight they went through, I mean I don't mind Obito getting redeem after the tnj only if he dies makes it better but in fact kishi makes it worse by not only make him alive, he controls zetsu and stabbed Madara.
