Because you're singling me out when other people have Shanks ranked as #1 and considering we've had disagreements before, I don't find it to be a mere coincidence.
Also Monkey D. Dragon is said to be the most dangerous criminal, a title he held even when Whitebeard was alive. So it just goes to show the contradiction of titles.

Most dangerous doesn't contradict with strongest. Most dangerous just means the biggest threat to public safety and the World Government. Kaido is stronger than Dragon, Dragon is more dangerous because he's directly and continuously doing things with the sole purpose of overthrowing the WG.

Most dangerous can also mean most powerful, same as "strongest"
The "strongest" title can refer to a variety of things such as raw strength. What sets Whitebeard apart from Kaido is that Whitebeard held the power that can destroy the world.
Kaido on the other hand was caught 18 times. We know he can't die, but that doesn't mean he can't lose.

It'd make more sense for Kaido fighting marines until he lost more so than him going out of his way to get hanged when he could do that himself.
Kaido wants to die, but he never tried facing Whitebeard head on. He actually planned for a sneak attack when Whitebeard was trying to save Ace and Shanks stopped him, coming back without a scratch.
Explain that.

Shanks will be always No.1 until BB or Luffy beats/surpass him.

Roger gave his SH to Shanks. He passed his legacy to shanks maybe because he knew one day Shanks will surpass him.
He has Conqueror Haki(few people have this)
Shanks stopped Akainu's Lava Punch with his sword. Shanks is not "The strongest Swordman" still he stopped Akainu's lava punch which made 2holes in WB's body.
He stopped Kaido without any injury and stopped the war(BB also ran away from MF).
On the other hand Kaido was defeated seven times by Marines(that means admirals have already defeated him) & was captured 18times by Marines and Pirates/Revolutineries(that means he is not good in fighting/escaping)

Shanks' character resolves around the fact that he had the potential to be the new Roger when he was at max of his possibilities(2arms), but he decided to give up one of his arm, limiting his possibilities, because he found someone who could do better than him in Luffy, which alternatively also probably pissed off Mihawk at the moment, who since then was wondering who that Luffy could be(until he met him in baratie and ever since had been interested to watch if he really had that potential his rival gave his own up to and was betting on like he tried to see in marineford), ever since wandering all over the world out of sheer boredom and disappointment while looking for another rival to entertain him like Shanks ever could have because he losing a rival in Shanks also lost made him lose his life motivation until he found Zoro and was curious about his potential, waiting to fight him at his full potential by placing all his hopes on him to surpass him.
Tl;dr Shanks had the potential to be higher than this, but he restricted this potential by betting it on the new age(like he said to Whitebeard) and as a result is weaker than he could have been. It's potential wise that Shanks could have been the strongest, but because he wasted this potential, people like Kaido or Mihawk are stronger than him

Ok put it like this Mike Tyson will always be known for his power(WB,Kiado) but Muhammad Ali will always be known as the greatest because of his skill(Rodgers,Shanks)but it takes more than the individual captian to become a yonko from what I understand most people are ranking the captains and not the crew as a whole but you kind of have to because their crew is apart of their individual strength as yonko none of them would have made it without their crews

He did challenged Yonko/Marines single handedly. And I am positive that it was one of his suicide attempts, when he tried to go after Whitebeard at the time of war.
