Some time ago I read a thread somewhere here on this site stating member's rank(I mean those green dots comes under everyone's profile). It said something like more are the posts, more are those dots.What is it. And what reps do anyways.

u dont get them by posting. ppl give them to u if u do something good or post something important, like a manga spoiler pic etc

Im fairly new to but from my understanding your answer is no.
post count - allows you access to more things on the website, you may now particapate in the RPG part of NB at 50 post.
REP - shows how involved you are in the base. More rep means you play an intergral part in the way the site is run. posting spoilers, new episodes and such.
hellsbadass is a good person to ask these questions too.
