Doflamingo subdued Jozu at MF and I doubt that Jozu could beat Sabo, but he is definitely stronger than Ace.

Sabo has nothing to bypass his diamond defense especially considering he even has superior haki as well. Jozu showed a greater performance against a serious admiral than Sabo had against a stalling admiral not even trying. Jozu > Sabo

Ace only took a vacant post. His position wasn't there to show a superiority in power. Jozu was 3rd division commander even before Ace became a whitebeard pirate, let alone becoming 2nd division commander. The 2nd division commander left decades ago and Whitebeard never cared in placing Jozu as number2 simply because the division number doesn't matter. Oda even said that in an SBS

1. The area around Jozu's left shoulder cant be covered in diamond. Sabo can just aim for that area.

2. What makes you think Jozu has better Haki? Jozu's physical strength is one of the best in the series, and then he also has the Diamond DF which makes his punches even stronger and gives him some very good defense, and those two things are some big reasons why people decide to learn CoA. All Jozu would really need CoA for is the ability to hit Logias. Meanwhile, Sabo had no DF until like 30 min ago and was still strong enough to become the RA's no.2, so he definitely has some great Haki. There is no evidence that Jozu's Haki is > Sabo's Haki.

3. All Jozu did was manage to hit a distracted Aokiji, and a few seconds later Aokiji returned the favor. His fight against an admiral wasn't any more impressive than Sabo's.

The division commanders' rank does not equal their rank in terms of strength in the crew. Oda said so himself. The only person who's rank=their strength is Marco based on everything we've seen.

I was sure that because Marco was the first division commander, the division's number means power...

but Sabo is clearly above Jozu, by a lot.
