There is no comparison, Avatar The Last Air Bender sh!ts on The Legend Of Korra.

But if I had to? I would go with:

Note: I feel bad for putting Book 4 so low in Korra because I love Wu/Kurvira/Korrasami, but I really loved Amon. He is my favorite villain of both series bar Azula. Overall, I think Book 3 in TLA was the best, but I don't know, book 3 in TLA was just mind blowing...literally.

I love Avatar so much. It's my favorite thing ever. Both series are amazing in their own way and both have fantastic seasons. Good thread!

Characters? Azula, Ty Lee, Amon, Bolin, Mako, Wu, Jet.

Element? If I had to pick a main element, probably water. It could change any day, but water right now.

As for one type of like bending, I really like the lava bending.

WOW! I cannot believe that you think that about Korra. S3 and 4 are amazing. I do agree that S2 Korra was the weakest season of both series. but it went right back up and over the hill with S3. What do you not like about it? To each their own, but just curious, you know?

Honestly, I think people were disenchanted with how LOK Book 1 ended. Book 2 was like a season 1 do over, since the creators didn't know at the time of Book 1's ending they'd be getting a second season.

book 1 as a standalone was extremely solid. Amon to this day is the best villain of both series, and the pacing was insane. It's only flop was the lackluster shipping watering down character development.

It's more so the deus ex machina restoration of Korra's powers, her subsequently being given energy bending by Aang, and how no one went to investigate what happened to Amon and Turlaqq.

Amon, who was a reaaaaally cool villain with a decent backstory, immediately runs away like a sissy after his lie about his power is revealed. And the love-triangle was pure, unlikeable shit.
Oh, and that avatar-state asspull from Aang was also not a good idea.. even while I know that Mike and Bryan intended to make Korra a short one-shot.

The Avatar state isn't deus ex, it was Korra losing her powers in episode 13 and gaining them back easily at the end of the same episode. Pacing was the issue.

Yeah, I also was disappointed that Season 2 didn't follow up on any of the lingering threads from Book 1. Like investigating Amon and Tarlaqq's disappearance, what happened to those hundreds of Equalist supporters. Did they all just give up and go home, unpunished? Things like that.

Idk man, I think Zaheer was pretty bamf. That thing he did to the Earth Queen, is legendary!
