How exactly do Kisame, Kakuzu and Itachi deal with him? I need some proof.

Hype and portrayal is all what i need. Sasori was sacrificed in the Ambush squads when Kakuzu was left behind with Nagato and Itachi for a while because they had better purpose than dealing with small fries

Once again, Kabuto sacrificed him in the Ambush squad for a reason when the likes of Kakuzu were left behind with Nagato and Itachi for a while

Actually, I think that guys like Sasori, Deidara, Kakuzu and Kisame are all close in overall power, their abilities are just much different.

This is the most accurate list I could come up with. The challenge is ranking kisame,sasori,deidara and kakuzu as those 4 guys are the mid tier of akatsuki, and they can all beat each other depending on the matchup. So yeah.

By their feats shown in the manga . No Edo Tensei included , this Akatsuki is all member in their prime (Prime Itachi , Prime Nagato , Prime Obito etc.)

Though I had some little doubts on who to put first but ...

Although you may disagree with 3rd place and 10th place , Kakuzu held his own against Hashirama and still got out alive from the fight . ABC logic is wrong but here I doubt that Itachi would be left alive from a Hashirama fight . Even so , Kakuzu has shown incerdibile feats in the manga . As for Zetsu I know that he has been relevant for past chapters and stabbing a Juubi jinchuuriki , but all he has for a power is being 'sneaky' . He still has a weak mokuton . u_u

Yes, he can absorb it. But it would take him absorbing the magnet release from all sides.

In this fight, I see it as Kisame's stamina and Water style as his main assets, not Samehada. Surprisngly.
