Well, senpai, Raiton, or Lightning Release, constitutes one of the five major nature transformations for elemental ninjutsu. It is the primary affinity for shinobi of Kumogakure, the Hidden Cloud Village.
Raiton chakra is full of energy, characterized by the crackling and shocking sensation it has when molded by the user. Its primarily use is offensive; it has a sharp, piercing capability when properly molded with shape transformation; particularly well known techniques include Kakashi's Chidori. It can also be infused with ninja weapons such as kunai, increasing stabbing and cutting strength.
Advanced Raiton users can also use Raiton to augment their physical attributes such as reaction time and speed. Attempt to draw out your lightning chakra, think of what lightning truly is, imagine its sharp presence and its piercing ability,and channel your chakra towards your more dominant arm, from there without using any shape manipulation just try to release a uncontrolled small bolt of lightning from your hand

I take my left hand and flex it. Using my right arm, I hold my left wrist (similar to Kakashi's setup for Raikiri). Then, focusing my chakra through my left hand, I envision the nature of lightning, wild, shocking, and piercing. I feel a strong tingling sensation that causes my fingers to move involuntarily, twitching at the same time.
The buildup makes my hand feel like it's about to burst. I feel pain and the sensation of pins and needles. Then, in an instant, my left hand jerks forward, and out of my hand, a small bolt of lightning discharges from my hand. However, the discharge also contains unmolded chakra, and residual wisps form something similar to an aura around my hand.
The lightning bolt barely misses myself and senpai, and hits a nearby tree trunk. It leaves a sizable burn mark.

The next technique is not any harder, concentrate on your chakra channeling raiton chakra towards both of your hands, whereafter you slam both of your palms onto the ground and release the lightning from your hands into the Earth, where it move across the ground and shocks your opponent

*I do as senpai instructs. I channel lightning chakra through my palms by concentrating them. My hands crackle with energy. I slam my fists on the ground, causing a small shockwave. Then, I aim my left hand at a nearby tree, shooting a bolt of lightning that leaves a small burn mark afterwards*

That's good, but the lightning would be released from your hands and travel through the ground to attack the tree xD

It looks like an aura surrounding my body. I walk over to senpai, and raise a finger, touching him on the shoulder. It gives him a mild shock*

Let's continue and try it another way, now for the next I want you to perform a similar procedure, concentrate on your Raiton chakra and channel it outwards from your body, however do not make it coat your body, rather form a shield which protects you from front-facing attacks. When the shield comes into contact with an object, it will trigger an explosion dealing damage

*I do as senpai says. Instead of focusing on shape manipulation that covers my entire body, I focus it on my hands. Putting both hands outstretched in front, I then visualize a round shape. This causes the Raiton chakra gathered in my body to manifest into a round shield that covers the upper half of my body. It's not a huge shield, but it seems competent*
