• - From the impression the anime gave, it seems quite fast.

• - Stays attached to the hand (Not exactly a weak point but I couldn't think of any)

Combinations-strategies

I could use this in combination with a water jutsu to either limit where the opponent could move (seeing as the water would be electrocuted)

Ways to counter:

Possibly Futon, but all I can think of is something to repel the jutsu or just plain avoid it.

(Raiton: Raiton Kage Bunshin) - Lightning Release: Lightning Shadow Clone

Description: User creates a Shadow Clone of himself infused with his lighting chakra. When the clone gets hit he will return to its previous state of pure lighting chakra. The clone has a physical substance and therefor is able to use ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques as well as he has all the normal moves the user has.
Note: Can only use lightning based techniques up to B rank.

Is normally used by Kakashi, so what you basically do is create a copy of yourself using you lightning chakra, now this clone is a tad bit different then its other elemental variations, the reason lightning clone is different because once he his hit he will turn to pure lightning and that pure lightning will then shock your opponent [ only if he was destroyed by physical attack that was landed by the opponent, ex kakashi vs 6 path fight he shocked the robot guy.. ], also it has a physical form so he can use taijutsu which increases your chance of indulging your opponent in taijutsu fight and then shock him while the real you kills him using a quick finishing move, the clone can also use B rank lightning...

(Chō Biburāto Raitontō) - Super Vibrating Lightning Release Sword

Description: The user channels their lightning chakra into a blade, increasing its vibrating frequency and giving it more cutting power than standard wind techniques.

Self explanatory, all you basically do is charge your katana with raiton chakra to increase its cutting power, its add an additional +15 damage to all the kenjutsu techniques you use, though it can back fire if you are attacked by a suiton base attack which drenches you wet.

(Raiton: Dai Denki hōden no Jutsu ) - Lightning Release: Large Electrical Discharge Technique

Description: By Performing the ram hand seal the user will manipulate their chakra and they then raise their hand to the sky and an electrical discharge is triggered shocking the target.

Much like the previous lightning bolt technique, you basically perform the ram hand seal and then raise your hand in the sky to trigger an electrical discharge using your chakra as the medium, it results in shocking your target...

(Raiton: Shuriken Seigyo no Jutsu) - Lightning Release: Shuriken Control Technique

Description: The user will take out two large shuriken or Windmill Shuriken and channel their raiton chakra into them. They will then throw them at their target to pin them down and maintain a connection with the shuriken through a electrical cable that delivers a numbing shock to paralyse the target and restrict their movements.
Note: Numbing Effect lasts for one turn.

Okay a nice one if you ask me though it does require some equipments to be used, so now what you basically do is take out a couple of large shurikens and keep it in mind to attach them with a metal wire, as the shurikens reaches your opponent you use the metal wire as a medium to charge the shurikens with raiton chakra, obviously due to lightning nature there penetratin power is increased as well as they cause numbing effect which will last for 1 turn, also if the shuriken strikes in some important organ area then it van be an finishing blow as well...

Okay a simple and useful one, what you basically do is shoot a spear of lightning towards your opponent to strike them, you can split this sphere into multiple bolts of lightning to strike multiple opponent or to simply increase the area it covers, obviously it decreases the power of each individual spear....

( Raiton: Purazuma Bōru ) - Lightning Release: Plasma Ball
Rank: B
Type: Offensive, Defence
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 20 (+5 per turn active)
Damage points: 40 (-15 if target comes into contact with the barrier)
Description: The user manipulating their chakra generates a plasma barrier around them to serve as a defence which protects them from incoming attacks, even from something as wide-ranged as the Quicksand Waterfall Flow however the user cannot use other techniques besides lightning release or physical based techniques. The user can rush at their opponents even if the barrier is active. The shield can be used offensively, by discharging the electricity in the direction of their choice in a wave resulting in using the energy of the barrier and ending its effects.
Note: Technique remains active for 3 turns.


A good one but severely restricted one as well, so what you basically do is create a barrier all around [most likely it will stretch a meter outwards, picture will confirm it though], now this barrier basically functions a s a defensive mechanism, It can stop attack according to the elemental chart but it is really good against a tajutsu user as he can no longer touch you, you can also use it in an offensive manner by shape manipulating that barrier into a wave of lightning and releasing it towards your opponent though this will end this technique, while this is active [ 3 turns] you can only use lightning base techniques.

Against someone with a strong guard, I could rush at them and use the barrier's power all at once.

( Raiton: Kaminari no Shōgeki Ame ) - Lightning Release: Lightning Shock Rain

Description: The user manipulates their lightning chakra condensing into a orb of chakra and then releasing it into mid air. The lightning orb will then remain in the air for several seconds releasing a continous rain of lightning bolts shocking any enemy within the radius of the attack.


A jutsu which can back fire in my opponent, now what you basically do is create a condense orb of lightning and then release it in mid air and after a few seconds, lightning bolts will start to rain from that orb....... now the reason why I said it can backfire is that it is short range and you also will be in short range while using it, so I suggest you to use that few seconds window to get out of its range.

(Raiton: Chidori) - Lightning Release: One Thousand Birds
Rank: A
Type: Offense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60
Description: The user must first perform the following sequence of hand seals Ox → Rabbit → Monkey → Dragon → Rat → Bird → Ox → Snake → Dog → Tiger → Monkey and they create a lightning jutsu that is concentrated in the user's palm and thrusted toward the opponent at high speed. The lightning in the user's palm sounds like birds chirping, hence the name.
Note: Someone who mastered lightning release can perform chidori with just the Ox hand seal.

Well who does not know about chidori u.u, so you basically perform the needed hand seal [once mastered lightning it will only require one] and start channeling your lightning chakra in your hand and then thrust forward to strike your enemy with it, remember it is short ranged.

( Raiton: Fusei Shuriken Chidori Jutsu ) - Lightning Release: Rigged Shuriken One Thousand Birds Style

Description: The user will utilize a large shuriken and channel a chidori into it. The user will then throw the shuriken charged with chidori towards the opponent resulting in paralysing them on impact. (paralysis lasts for 1 turn)

Well nothing much to explain, you basically pass the charge of chidori in a shuriken to attack your opponnet.

(Raiton: Chidori Nagashi) - Lightning Release: One Thousand Birds Current

Description: This jutsu allows the user to generate non-focused electrically charged chakra from their body. Because the electricity isn't focused, it doesn't kill on contact, instead it only paralyzes. The lightning can be channelled through metal objects, as well as spread out into the air or ground.

Now if I am not wrong then it is by far the most used lightning technique, there are many reason as to why it is so popular and used so much, now this jutsu is nothing but an unfocused full body surge of lightning therefor it only paralyzes upon contact, it can be Chanel and spread through various objects and that is what makes it really versatile, people use it a lot like really lot to counter earth jutsu, now there is one more purpose which it can serve and that is it can break you free out of a genjutsu, the reason being that it is an unfocused full body surge of chakra, now if you would have read the rules connected to genjutsu you would be aware that it only breaks you free from B rank and below genjutsu, all its pro are become more useful thanks to the simple fact that it requires no hand seal.
