If Kakashi an use rasengan but couldn't add an element to it before, he should just use Naruto's method and make a clone to help him. It would look awesome but i guess it's not his style. Or maybe he just doesn't have the chakra for those kind of moves.

the reason he invented raikiri is because the erradict nature of lighting couldn't be combined with the steady rotation of the rasengan.

thats right he alone once said that he could not use it cause of his chakra
but another think noone mentioned he has not mastered any wind jutsus so he hasnt the qualities fro such an jutsu

right he doesn't have enough chakra reserves cuz they say that naruto got 4 times more chakra than kakashi and he would have 100 times more chakra than kakashi if he doesn't have the nine tail fox sealed on him xDDDD so kakashi can't use rasengan very much plus his sharingan needs much chakra too...

Also just the amount of chakra it takes to contain it would be possible for him.
Not only do you have to be able to do it but be able to contain it and not have it explode on you(like what happened in naruto training)

1st - Fuuton Cansels out Raiton

2nd- Kakashi is not a wind user and can not use all 5 elements , even if he tries

3rd - Kakshi doesn't have enough chakra to even trian that technique.

And last but not least , Kakashi is a very delicate ninja , he might get injured or even Killedin trining

ya his chakra is fractions lower than naruto and lightning is very hard to combine and shape
