There's nothing quite like a rainy day,
At least not when you're feeling like it's all over
And when you wake up seething where you lay
The rain calms like a long lost lover
The sun can be so blinding to those living in the dark
So a rainy day is like a vacation to those without a light
And to those who's chances of happiness today are stark
A rainy day washes out the wounds of yesterday's fight
So enjoy the rain as it falls on your self-built walls
You built them a little to late around a heart already broken
And remember that anyone who once cared can't hear your calls
Just work through another day for money or some token
If you're through then take out your blade
And let it rain, let it pour, let it rain blood
Let this rainy day wash you away and watch the memories fade
Forget all about about it all as you wash away with the mud
Then all that's remembered of you will be that last rainy day
Maybe they'll leave you a while for a buzzard or two
And who will even care how you went anyway?
