Description: An advance version of rain capture where the user bounces the rain into the clouds.The higher up they go the more colder they get untill they freeze and come falling down(similar to hail)in the form of a net or a dome to capture the opponent.

Simple technique. The user will inject their chakra into the rain drops, manipulate the drops to rise high into the air. The cool air will effectively seep into the rain drops, cooling them down into a form of hail. The user will apply shape manipulation towards these cold water drops to create a net/dome to capture the opponent in, freezing them, and immobilizing them.

Basically the same process as above, but this time you can release a form of rain daggers composed of the hail substance. Cold, and can easily penetrate the flesh of anyone unlucky enough to greet with this technique.

The same as the previous technique, but it can remain hailing for three turns instead of regular rain. This can be a great combo with snow, and be used as a source for techniques to be created quicker that requires this hail substance.

Note:must have clouds in the sky to use this jutsu.

Focus your rain chakra and perform the needed handseals whereafter you send your gathered chakra into the clouds. After three turns you can form the rain that falls out of the sky into hail which will damage teh opponent.

Note:This jutsu must have rain clouds to perform and the snow takes three turns to fall and lasts for 3 turns.
Restrictions:Can only be used three times per battle.

Focus your water chakra and first perform the hidden mist skill!
Once you have done that and the mist was created around you it is difficult to see through, but then you will add a bit of extra difficulty. Focus your rain chakra and send it into the sky, once you have done this you can manipulate the clouds to create snow which falls out of the sky. This will even more blind the opponent! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snooooowwww~

(Suiton: Kouu no Fukkou) - Water Style: Rain's Renaissance

Description: The user slams his hand on the ground and sends a large wave of chakra into the ground. This wave of chakra causes all small, nearby sources of water to fly back into the clouds to replenish them. This has little effect on natural storms but on artificial ones it can be used multiple times to lengthen it almost indefinitely.

Focus your chakra and slam your hand onto the ground, releasing your chakra to create a wave of rain water which causes water from the ground to fly back into the clouds so it can fall as rain again.

A long winded technique that seems to take time just to get off. Three turns to be exact. Honestly, not that special of a technique other then hail part, and hail is the closest thing to ice. Has some serious drawbacks, firstly needs to be controlled at the opponent, and the hail fall is brief, unlike the long winded time it takes to actually get this technique started in the first place. Also, I look at this technique as something to be used for deceptive attacks, making the opponent think you have a Ice KG. The damaging is obvious, hail would just fall on the opponent, delivering serious blows each time. Simplistic in nature.

A technique that has snow fall in a blizzard like fashion. The snow fall will disrupt the vision of an opponent, and also, the snow is composed of chakra, so I would assume some form of dojutsu would be hindered dramatically, plus snow is quite thick, I see the sharingan having issues with this. Again, very long duration for the technique to start, 3 turns. But the snow fall itself is 3 turns as well, so it balances out, but once again, its situational. Of course the snow doesn't have offense attached to it, I see ice KG working well with this. But its just used to confuse, disarm, and supplement an attack. Using it along the hiding mist further showcases this visual distraction.

A technique that I don't see used much often, and doesn't have any serious usage. Slam your hand on the ground, and cause the water sources around you, up to mid range at most, to rise back upwards into the clouds. This will allow you to continue rain attacks if needed, or continue with rain jutsus that require constant rain to fall. Personally, I don't see this useful. The C-Rank water rain tiger at will does the same job, and quicker. However, it does eliminate the water source of an opponent to use for your own personal attacks. A water user would surely dislike their own tool set to be ruined, so using this against water-lovers would be a great tool.

The user must begin running towards the target of the jutsu, once enough rain has been gathered and condensed to form a fist sized orb of water in the user's hand, the user must place their hand near the target. The orb of water will "explode" pushing enemies back and creating openings for attacks.

Focus your chakra whilst performing handseals to channel the focused chakra into your hands. Once you've done this you attract a lot of rain towards your palms. As you do this you will need to run towards the opponent but at the same time you create an orb of the water which you can make explode whilst in range of the opponent so it will push them back.

(Hitoshirenu Ame Naifu) - Hidden Rain Knives

Perform the needed handseals and gather your chakra. Then when you did all that you focus your chakra into the drops of rain, 20 metres around you and turn the drops of rain into sharp needles of water which you can direct towards the opponent.

Description: The user focuses rain to form as a large pillar before high up in the rain, and also focusing on a point on the ground where it should land, the water pillar has a radius of 4 meters and is a powerful jutsu to give an upper advantage against the enemy, the pillar dissolves as it lands on the ground creating a shock wave of water

Again focus your rain chakra and send it into the rain to make a large pillar of water high up in the sky, as well as focusing onto the ground where you desire it to land. Since the pillar is made of water which has quite a lot of mass and the radius of the pillar being four metres, it is quite a powerful jutsu as it crashes down on the desired place, and basically onto the opponent that can be crushed under the pressure of the water falling out of the sky. As the water lands onto the ground it will create a shock wave of water which you will be able to use to your advantage too.

After a long set of hand seals, all the user does is gather rain droplets towards their fist, and run at the target. They will apply basic shape manipulation to make the droplets turn into a sphere. As a person runs, and comes into targets close range, the water orb will explode. A basic short range attack, a little vulnerable cause electricity might be a threat. Very simple in nature.

After doing some hand seals, and channeling the chakra 20 meters around the user within existing rain droplets. The user will apply shape manipulation to have the water turn into needles, thin, rather weak, needles. They will be directed at the opponent through proper control, and begin to pierce the flesh of the opponent. I would relate these needles to sewing needles. Nothing too severe, likely just pierce the flesh, and leave cuts and bruises. Overall, it can be a easy, and quick distraction due to the sharp pain.

The user will manipulate the rain to create a large, condensed, and high volume of water shaped into a pillar. The pillar will descend and attempt to crush the opponent from above. The moment of contact, the pillar will lose its shaping, dissolving back into a wave of water, which can create some damaging shock waves. Overall, it reminds of stormy blockade, and doesn't have much difference to it. It can be a great air based attack to disrupt the opponent, and put them on their heels. I would venture to say, the pillar falls as a projectile, so you can continue with an attack after you aim. It has a four meter radius, so it can cover a little under short range of the opponent, it can be created anywhere up to mid range. Its a decent attack.

When the trident cuts into an object, it expands into said object causing more damage and sometimes can even be used to break bones.

Gather the rain in the sky and form a long trident that you control its shape and length. Have it come down and hit ym cloen adn when it does it should expand when it hits my clone causing more damage and breaking bones.

(Kadou Tsunami no Jutsu) - Vortex Tsunami Technique

The speeds that this vortex spins at are so fast that it is able to cut through armor. This technique, once sent out is almost impossible to stop and will continue going until the chakra supporting it runs out. As a downside, the storm will chase down an opponent and anything near an opponent, including the user of the jutsu .


Using your chakra focus on a single focus point and by using your chakra have the point start spinning with high speeds so that it drags rain clouds into them. It should form a swirling storm of water and send it at my clone. The storm should be able to follow my clone till it hits him.

A larger version of the reflection rain clone. All illusions that do not place actual damage, mimics the movement of the user. A lot of my comments as before apply to this, meant for distraction, but at a wider scale.

Interesting, unique weapon, by manipulating the rain fall, the user will condense the rain into a trident. Rather solid/tangible, can be used to pierce/impale an opponent, or crush their bones. Even small natural materials. When it cuts into the material, it will expand in size at that moment to continue its damage. The trident can be lengthened and shortened depending on the need of the user.

A rather destructive technique. Injecting chakra into the rain clouds, and forcefully spin the clouds along with the rain droplets. This will create a devastating vortex composed of water. The vortex is meant to destroy, and tear apart armor, earthly material, and flesh. The sharp spin of the water can inflict serious damage. The danger of this technique is if used close by the user, it can potentially harm him as well. The vortex obviously moves on its own, or else this wouldn't effect the user in any way. So its projectile based, and can easily be combined.

This is a very strong technique because as soon as this is done every technique the user create using this will be pitch black and the enemy will not see them coming

Do the hand signs and use your chakra to have all the rain drops become pitch black making them seem invisible to my clone but they will still be able to feel the rain. Then use any previous rain jutsu to attack my clone since she wont be able to see it coming.

Use your chakra and create a dragon from the clouds and have it swoop down from the sky to shoot a spiral rain spear from any part of its body to hit my clone while at the same time small rain storms come from its body.

After performing hand seals, cutting the finger, and raising it to the sky, the blood will rise up to the sky, sacrificial in manner. As this happens, the clouds begin to warp into dragons. The more made, the smaller each get, with rank obviously going down. The dragons main use is emitting a rain spear to attack the opponent. They can also provide a source of rain techs. From what I know, concentration is needed for this technique.

One of the strongest techniques in my opinion. An activation technique that turns the rain into a dark color, pitch black. This makes seeing the rain almost impossible, aside from sensory, and dojutsu forms. However, regular eyes are disarmed. Rain techniques are also infused with this property, making it extremely stealthy. The opponent can still feel the drops, and can formulate counters through specific interaction, or physical notices. Great technique.

Similar to another technique. The user will take a hold of the rain clouds creating a strong, large, powerful dragon with an insane amount of attacking potentially. It quickly dives onto the field for the fight. It can release spirals of rain spears out of its body which cost a post that can impale the opponent, it can also creating localized rainstorm from its body for more attacks. A versatile beast for techniques and attacks. Rain techs can be used along side of the beast.

Description: An advanced form of the Rain Spear that uses chakra to condense a large amount of rain water into one place to form spears of water in the clouds. The spears can at any time be called down to strike an opponent with only one hand-seal. Unlike its predecessor, these spears are made of constantly moving water that can actually cut an opponent. They also move in a corkscrew pattern that can be slightly manipulated. By widening or sharpening the turns, you can change where the spear will hit mid-technique. The water will stay in the form of spears for a short amount of time (2 turns). Any spears that are not used by that time it will fall uselessly as rain.

Use your chakra to condense a large amount of rain drops to form spears of water into the clouds and have the spears come down and strike my clone when you do the hand sign *shows you the hand sign* The spears should move in a corkscrew pattern and you should be able to control where the spears hit even in mid-technique.

(Kadou Boufuu no Jutsu) - Vortex Storm Technique

Description: A powerful high level jutsu that uses a great deal of chakra to pull down the storm clouds from the sky and place them around the user and enemy. The chakra that pulled down the clouds keeps them moving at high speeds so that neither the user nor enemy can escape. This jutsu in effect doubles the damage done by rain jutsu attacks and makes them more difficult to dodge. When this technique is used, the rain that comes from the clouds falls sideways, down, up, and near every direction, keeping enemies off balance.

Use your chakra and bring down the storm clouds from the sky so that they surround you and my clone. The clouds should be moving at high speeds and allow rain to come from every direction and use it to do any rain jutsu to hit my clone.

(Boufuu Kumo Kaigara) - Storm Cloud Shell

Description: A powerful technique that draws down a small portion of rain clouds and places them over the user like a full body shell. The clouds continue to produce rain, which allow the user to send out rain jutsu like the Rain spear from their body. This shell also defends against lightening jutsu, cutting their damage in half.

Draw the a small portion of clouds and place them all over your body giving you a full body shield so that rain will fall from all over your body and than send out a rain spear at my clone. You could use this to take a lightning jutsu or if a high rank lightning jutsu is going to hit you this would be a good counter just so the jutsu doesnt really fully kill pr hurt you that bad.

(Rasen Yari no Kirinonai Kouu) - Endless Rain of the Spiral Spears

Description: An advanced form of the Rain Spear that uses chakra to condense a large amount of rain water into one place to form spears of water in the clouds. The spears can at any time be called down to strike an opponent with only one hand-seal. Unlike its predecessor, these spears are made of constantly moving water that can actually cut an opponent. They also move in a corkscrew pattern that can be slightly manipulated. By widening or sharpening the turns, you can change where the spear will hit mid-technique. The water will stay in the form of spears for a short amount of time (2 turns). Any spears that are not used by that time it will fall uselessly as rain.

A dormant jutsu meant to be used for offensive strategies. By manipulating the water in the rain clouds you can create spears composed of water. With one hand seal you can call a spear down at any time within two moves. This is very sharp water and can cut/pierce through flesh. I can see this tech being used in two ways: either projectile to have it free fall on the opponent/technique, or streaming by controlling its movement and direction for aiming at different targets. This is great to use for deceptive attacks cause it is hard to notice them from above, combining it with lower attacks can be useful. They might dawn shadows, and being that spears can reach the length taller then regular humans, they might be noisy. So its not completely stealth and can be defended, so use it wisely in combos to get the most out of em.


(Kadou Boufuu no Jutsu) - Vortex Storm Technique

Description: A powerful high level jutsu that uses a great deal of chakra to pull down the storm clouds from the sky and place them around the user and enemy. The chakra that pulled down the clouds keeps them moving at high speeds so that neither the user nor enemy can escape. This jutsu in effect doubles the damage done by rain jutsu attacks and makes them more difficult to dodge. When this technique is used, the rain that comes from the clouds falls sideways, down, up, and near every direction, keeping enemies off balance.

Using chakra to pull storm clouds down covering the area between the user and opponent. The movement of descent is fast making it tough to evade and covers a mid range distance, to ensure capture, best use with other terrain manipulation techniques, or in spaces that might prevent evasion from being the best choice. The clouds since it covers the terrain from all angles will release rain from all angles as explained in the description, making it tough to predict rain attacks to be used in combination with this since rain drops will come from all angles, as well as a little boost with this tech making them have more damage. A supplementary technique, which also puts the opponent off balance, great tech.


(Boufuu Kumo Kaigara) - Storm Cloud Shell

Description: A powerful technique that draws down a small portion of rain clouds and places them over the user like a full body shell. The clouds continue to produce rain, which allow the user to send out rain jutsu like the Rain spear from their body. This shell also defends against lightening jutsu, cutting their damage in half.

A rather simple defensive technique that pulls storm clouds around the body of the user creating a cloud shell. From the cloud rain will be released and allows the user to make their body an actual source of rain attacks. It can be used to defend against taijutsu, kenjutsu, and even some elemental techniques. Overall, just a basic armor based technique with some nice perks.

Description: A powerful ninjutsu that laces the clouds with a large amount of poison elemental chakra to change the structure of the rain. The end result is a storm that does not rain water, but instead rains a powerful acid that can eat through most materials. Unfortunately, skin is not one of those materials. Instead of instantly eating through, it causes skin to instantly blister and slowly dissolve in a most painful way.

Change the property of the rain so it becomes acid like burning my clone's clothes and causing blisters to his skin. After you make this use the Umbrella jutsu from eailer to protect you or if you had an umbrella like the one from Ame you would also be fine xD

(Touketsu Ame toraidento no Jutsu) - Frozen Rain Trident Technique

Description: An advance version of rain trident where the user bounces the rain into the clouds.The higher up they go the more colder they get until they freeze and come falling down(similar to hail).

Create a rain trident but higher in the sky so it becomes frozen and than have it come down and hit my clone. Its almost like an ice jutsu.

An acidic composition released by the clouds by infusing this advance substance into the rain clouds. The acid itself can eat through physical material such as earth. And can be a great tool to decay away plants, woods, and other organic material. Against the opponent it will simply create blisters and burn.

Question Korra, Can this be used to infuse all our rain techniques with? Or is it just a raining tech alone.

A long duration technique that requires focus. You will bounce rain back into the clouds and as they move up become much colder, turning into a hail substance, they will then fall back down to pummel the opponent. Pretty basic.
