Dean, once more has to train another shinobi in the art of Rain Release. It was becoming quite famous lately, as he had already finished training three people in it in the last few weeks. He always had fun teaching it though, due to its powerful nature. With a bag on his back, Dean quickly strode forth towards his student. The young man was playing with Fire, an odd scene.

"Hello there, I am Dean Winchester of the Nekura clan. I heard I have to teach you Rain. Firstly, what's your name? Secondly, tell me everything you know about Rain Release. Also, how does it feel to only use Water and Wind (based on your experience in the test)."

Dean then crosses his arms as he waits for the young man to answer his simple question.

Dean just got a new speech color .-.

Forming various shapes with Fire, Ace soon heard footsteps. The familiar sound of grass being trampled. Extinguishing the fire, he got up, and placed his hands in his pockets. He wore his trademark half smile and looked with interest at the man in front of him.

So, you're my teacher, eh? Dean Winchester of Nekura, you say? I've heard the exploits of your clan from Oyaji. And, I see a clan member with my own eyes today. I am Fire Fist Ace.

Ah, yes, Rain.

He looked down and his mind wandered off to thoughts of his visit to Amegakure No Sato. It was indeed a marvel that they could control the tears of heaven themselves. He had been told that, to tame the Rain element he had to have a mastery over Wind and Water natures. He was a fire master, but he was skilled enough to gain a mastery over both releases.

From my understanding, Rain Release is the advanced manipulation of water release, focusing solely on rain. With Water Release, you can make it rain, but from what I've seen from Amegakure ninjas is that, with Rain Release you can manipulate every single drop of rain; in other words, comprehensive manipulation of Water Release. I guess, the Wind element is used to increase the sharpness and cutting power of the Water element, as well as altering the weather to bring forth rain.

It's weaknesses would be Earth Release, as earthen structures are solid enough to bear the brunt of Rain Release attacks, as well as they absorb rain easily. Also, Wind Release; specific wind jutsus are powerful enough to blow away the rain clouds. Last, but not the least, Lightning Release. There's a certain risk of being electrocuted when rain falls on the field.

Strengths would be Fire Release, similar to Water Release's strengths. It can douse fire. The advantage of Rain Release is that it covers a massive area(depending on the technique ofc), and due to being widespread, can douse fire faster.

Well, Wind Release is a brilliant element to cut through obstacles and push away the opponent from you and redirect his attacks toward him. Water Release is a very versatile element to take control of the battlefield by either making it rain or use it conjunction with Wind Release to make it faster and more powerful. When there are no water sources, you can make your own by using a medium/large water technique and materializing water out of it.

Wind and Water Releases are strong to Fire, Lightning, neutral/weak to Earth, meaning one can still survive using only these both elements. Earlier, I didn't like Wind, but after using it in the test, I started loving it, since the opponent has to be weary of close range combat. Although, he has the choice of using a superior element, Fire Release, there's Water Release at one's disposal, which obviously forms steam/overpowers fire and continues toward him, and can crush his bones if powerful water techniques are used. Even if steam is formed which clouds one's vision, one can simply follow up with a powerful wind technique to catch the opponent by surprise, since it's a fast element.
Finally, you get to train me in something, lol.

Sorry for the late reply, was out of town (still am) but just got the chance to reply now. Here we go.

Dean listened to the young man explain what he understood about Rain Release. His knowledge in the subject was pretty good, and it seemed he learned a lot from using just Wind and Water in battle. He covered most aspects of Rain Release, but there was one he had missed. Dean didn't expect him to know, as he hadn't learned the techniques yet, but it was one of the qualities of Rain that Dean simply enjoyed.

"Well done, Ace. Great work on the points. Now, the thing I love most about Rain is that it can be very sneaky, and difficult to detect if you don't have sensory or a Doujutsu. You'll see it as we go through the techniques. Anyway, make it rain! Then we can begin."

Dean crosses his arms, and tilts his head a bit upwards as he waits for the young man.

Sneaky, you say? Interesting. That thought never occurred to me. Seems the Water element is the most useful of them all.

A half smirk widened on his face, as he ducked down, clutching his hat.

He got up once more, and closed his eyes. Calming down himself, and getting one with the surroundings, he achieved a tranquil state of mind. His complete focus was on performing his jutsu to make the heavens tear down.

He weaved the Dog handseal and gathered a medium amount of Water natured chakra in his body, slowly and steadily sending it to the atmosphere above. After a moment, the sky turned dark, and large storm clouds formed in the sky, clustered around each other. Soon, it started to rain, and it got heavier, pouring down with might and covering a very large area. The only sound in the surroundings was the falling sound of the heavy rain. Water streamed down through both of their bodies, easing his mind as he let out a relaxed heave.

(Suiton: Uramiame no Jutsu) - Water Release: Grudge Rain Technique
Rank: B-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 20 (-50 per turn while trapped in the vortex of waves)
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will first perform the Dog hand seal and release his chakra into the atmosphere which will then create an accumulation of large storm clouds in the sky, which in turn produces rain. The large amount of rain falling all around can then be turned into a large wave of water which sweeps the enemy off their feet while wrapping around him and binding him in the flow of water around him. While the targets are trapped in the water, their chakra will slowly be drained away. The water vortex can be sustained and controlled for up to two turns as long as the user keeps the dog hand seal made.

Dean watches Ace perform a technique that wouldn't let it rain continuously, so Dean formed a few hand seals and caused it to Rain. The Rain Tiger at Will technique was the technique that is always used, and although Ace wasn't wrong in using another technique, it wouldn't last long enough for the training. Dean then looked at Ace, as they would now start the training itself.

"Okay, now that we got that sorted, my method will be as follows. I will explain the technique, then I want you to perform it against a clone of mine, give me at least 2 advantages and disadvantages of the technique and also, how you would use it in battle. If you have questions, then be sure too ask.

Now the very first technique is a fairly simple one in terms of performance and quite fast to do too. The technique starts off by creating your Rain chakra by mixing your Wind and Water chakra, and forming Rain chakra. After doing so, you will focus this chakra onto your hands and gather Rain onto the palms of your hands. Then mold it together, and form a high pressurized orb of Rain. This orb is then launched towards the opponent, where it can cause some moderate blunt damage and push the opponent back a bit. Not very powerful, and is the most basic use of Rain. Try it out on my clone and follow my method."

Ace could make out from the expression of Dean that the technique he had used wasn't exactly the one he wanted.

So, you have to use a jutsu that makes it rain continuously? Should have told me, Dean-san. Alright. Let's start. He watched as Dean weaved a string of some handseals, which were very familiar to Ace. Ah, the famous chakra sensing Rain. Been some while since I witnessed this.

Clutching his hat, he smirked a little, carefully listening to whatever Dean told him.

The rain soon started pouring down, and he then calmed his heart rate down. Taking a deep breath, he gathered his Wind and Water chakra, mixing them effectively and forming a new chakra nature. This was quite new to him, and it felt unusual. It took some time to get used to it. Pushing his feet back, he looked toward the sky, and then towards his hand. As he focused this newly formed Rain chakra, he gathered rain drops towards his palm area. He then applied "pressure" on the gathered raindrops, and condensed it to form an orb like shape. It looked somehow like the Rasengan, small and highly pressurized. Outstretching his hand backward, he then let it go forward, releasing the orb diagonally upward. The orb started it's flight and came diagonally down towards a clone of Dean, which sent him flying. However, he was pushed back too, due to a slight amount of recoil force.

Advantages: 1) Quite a nice technique in short range, basically it can be "thrusted" like a Rasengan.
2) Since it's a projectile, the user can follow up with Taijutsu and is free to use any other attacks while the orb does it's job.

Disadvantages: 1) The orb can travel only until 5 meters, which doesn't make it that useful.
2) It's quite easily countered since it's a projectile, and the user can't change it's trajectory once it's hurled.

How would you use it in a battle: I would specifically hinder the balance of the opponent and then use this technique, targeting it specifically at his eyes, so that he's focused on countering it and then would follow up with a fire jutsu or lightning jutsu which would emerge from underground and turn him into ash/paralyze him.

He was already a good student, giving answers with sufficient detail and was determined to learn this new power. Dean was glad that his students always turned out to be quite good, and that he never really had a problem with teaching anyone. Teaching was good, and if the student was hard working, even better. Dean threw a scroll towards his student. The scroll contained the technique he had just learned, just for safe keeping or to read later (my R way of explaining why I post the technique that you just learned lol).

"Well done, Ace. It is indeed similar to Rasengan, in terms of it being pressurized and in the shape of a sphere. A nice projectile technique. Here you go."

Rank: D
Type: Attack
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: By focusing chakra into the user's hand they are able to gather rain drops towards their palms, the rain is molded together by chakra and forged into a high pressured orb. Once done the orb will shoot away from the users hand and the user will be knocked back. If it hits the enemy the enemy will be sent away flying or unbalanced.

"Now we will move on to the next technique. This is one of the most useful techniques one could encounter. The technique starts off by sending your Rain based chakra into the falling rain. You will then manipulate the falling Rain to change the compounds in it. This allows you to make the water sticky, and when it touches the opponent, it will hold them in place for up to two turns. The technique itself also lasts two turns, so it's pretty beast. Use it on my clone."

Ace caught the scroll thrown to him with one hand, and read it's contents. He kept it on a raised Earth column some meters to his right.

Mhm. Changing the compounds? Not a hard task.

Hearing whatever Dean spoke, Ace watched the falling rain and applied his chakra into it, manipulating it to change the properties of the rain, to a specific property. With great focus and concentration, he manipulated the rain's properties to make it sticky, by altering the uniformity of the molecules within the rain. Observing Dean's clone run toward him, he focused his Rain chakra into a specific portion of the falling rain again, this time, at the area around the clone, as the falling rain turned sticky and stuck to his body, binding him in place for quite some time.

Advantages: 1)If used at the right moment, this is quite a useful technique, similar to the sticky drop, however quite faster, since the rain is readily available.
2)The obvious one; it binds the opponent at place for 2 turns, which can be followed by a simple lightning jutsu to paralyze him or a final finishing jutsu, if successful.

Disadvantages: 1)This isn't that hard to evade for the opponent if he is in a running motion, since he has a wide possibility of escaping the sticky rain, or he could simply use a full body burst to "push" away the sticky rain from his body.
2)Quite risky to use in short range radius, since the area around the manipulated rain also becomes sticky, meaning atleast a mid-range distance could be used to not let oneself get caught in it.

How would you use it in a battle: I would use this to hinder Taijutsu users from coming close to me. I could manipulate the rain falling on the ground to make it sticky quite fast, since it doesn't require handseals, and this would result in sudden trapping of the body if the opponent is making a run, since to come to a sudden stop, he has to first notice the ground and then use his momentum to stop himself, i.e. his body would atleast go some meters forward in order to come to a complete halt. I would combo this with Swamp Of The Underworld, so that the opponent is busy engaging in getting himself free, while he gets hit by the sticky rain.

Ace does well once more. He was a natural at this. Dean could already see him becoming very good in the future. Smiling as he throws the scroll towards Ace, Dean clears his throat as he begins to speak. This rain was going to make him sick one day..

"Well done, Ace. It's indeed a risky technique, but fun to use. Here it is."

Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: When user makes it rain and then changes the compounds of the water(materials in the air). Then makes the rain sticky which binds the opponent in place for 2 turns.this jutsu lasts for 2 turns.

"Okay, now the next technique is fairly easy too. The technique starts off by manipulating your Rain based chakra and manipulating the falling rain. By doing so, you will create a clone of yourself which is basically a reflection of yourself. This means it is not physical and can not cause any harm. Every thing you do, the clone does too. The clone can be destroyed with a single hit. This means this technique is basically a tactical technique and should only be used if you have a plan in mind. Use it to confuse my clone."

After the helpless clone got drenched in glue, the rain continued falling on the ground. After hearing the way to perform the next technique, Ace was visibly surprised. A reflection of yourself, which was supposedly a clone..this prospect sounded interesting to him. Focusing his Rain chakra upon the falling rain, he mentally pictured an image of himself, similar to the Bunshin technique. By doing so, he created a "clone" of himself, however, he manipulated it to form a reflection of himself. This specific clone had no physical matter and tangibility to itself and was just a clone that would mimic his actions. He stretched his arms to the sky, and the clone did the same at the same time. Dean's clone finally freed itself of the sticky glue and continued it's run toward Ace, however by the time that happened, Ace stood exactly behind the clone and performed another action; weaving specific handseals. The expression on the clone's face changed soon, confusion ran through it's mind. Finding the opening, he reached behind the clone in a flash and performed an elbow, throwing it away quite far away. It disappeared with a poof sound and the trademark smoke that followed it.

Advantages: 1)Can be used to confuse the opponent, since the clone mimics the user's movements.
2) The clone can be flung at the opponent, and even if it is destroyed easily, the user gets time to attack in the meantime.

Disadvantages: 1)This clone can't perform any attacks and is only used for mimicking.
2) It can be destroyed with ease and doesn't have any physical matter.
3) It can only function upto short range.

How would you use it in battle: I would form a shadow clone and make it stand perfectly behind the reflection clone and make the shadow clone weave handseals or w/e. When the reflection clone mimics this, I would get an opening to strike the opponent, and particularly because it's short range, I can use a powerful Taijutsu attack or an elemental attack to pressure the opponent or finish him off.

The technique is performed easily once more, and Dean isn't surprised in the least. With a simple flick of his hand, Dean sent the scroll towards Ace. The scrolls were starting to gather up next to where Ace was, a fairly funny sight Dean enjoyed seeing. They were progressing.

"Well done Ace, although i don't believe you'd be able to fling the clone towards the opponent as it has no physical matter, and this means it can't be touched, in a manner of speaking. Other than that, good. Here you go."

Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: This technique creates a reflection of the user, this clone is unable to touch physical objects or cause harm. Every move that the user makes the clone mimics at the same time. The reflection clone is destroyed after one hit, this is a tactical technique.

"The next technique starts off by forming a fast row of hand seals, and using your Rain based chakra to conceal your very body in the falling rain. This technique can be classified as a sort of henge, where your body becomes one with the rain, allowing for some sneaky attacks. For your opponent, it would seem that you have disappeared but you have merely attained a form that mimics rain. With fast movement or physical contact, you will be revealed. Use it to hide from my clone with the flash light!!!"

Dean creates a clone that wears a cloak and walks through the rain with a flash light.

Poor clones.

Watching the ever falling rain, he immersed himself in it for quite a while. Memories of his crew and his time spent with his fellow pirates was well missed by Ace. The news of his younger brother becoming quite a notorious name uplifted his mood a little, remembering their bet that they both would become the King Of Pirates. The world got stronger day by day, and his Fire affinity wasn't going to help him survive until the top. He let out all thoughts of anxiety and worry and focused instead on the rain. Manipulating his chakra to match the Rain chakra, he slowly became "one" with the rain, thereby concealing his identity from the cloaked clone who approached him with a near-blinding flash light.

Advantages: 1)Requires no handseals.
1) Happens quite fast and can be used to conceal your identity.
2) Can possibly confuse the Sharingan since the user's chakra is manipulated to match with the falling rain.(Not sure)
3) Perfect for quick sneak attacks.

Disadvantages: 1) Fast movements or physical contact undoes the jutsu and reveals the user. ~_~
2)Works only in short range.
3)Can't fool sensors or the other two Doujutsu from the San Doujutsu.

How would you use it in a battle: This technique is quite okay. I would start with blinding the opponent using the S-Ranked Raiton jutsu, and then use the time window to weave handseals and make myself disappear. Additionally, I can follow up this technique with using Kirigakure No Jutsu as a prerequisite. Mist+Hiding In Rain+Silent Killing would be just the perfect thing, since the movements aren't fast and are precise and soft.

Ace quickly performs the technique and gives his answers on the matter at hand. As expected, he was good, he knew the limitations of the technique and had already figured out a combination to use with it. Dean threw another scroll towards Ace, as he continued.

"That's good, Ace. Here is the technique you just learned."

Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: A jutsu that can only be used in rain to conceal oneself, this jutsu is considered a dynamic form of henge. After performing a row of hand-seals, the user seems to disappear. In truth, they have merely assumed a form that mimics rain. Fast movements and physical contact with others may reveal the user

"I now introduce you to the sneakiness of the Rain Element. The next technique starts off by manipulating your Rain based chakra and focusing it around a single rain drop above your opponent. You will then cause this single raindrop to condense and become more solid, and sharp as a blade. This causes it to be quite lethal if placed at the right place. Problem is, it falls in a straight line. Use it on my clone."

Dean creates a clone that stands and waits for Ace.

Ace watched the clone closely and heard Dean's instructions. Watching the falling rain, he carefully observed the drops that fell above the clone's head. Maintaining his focus over it, he inserted his Rain chakra into one of the drops, and manipulated it, condensing it to give it a certain solidity, and used the Wind Element half in his Rain chakra to make the falling drop in the shape of a blade, now solid, and thin and sharp as possible. However, it fell in a linear arc, albeit it still hit the clone and after the impact, the clone poofed away. If used on a normal, unprotected shinobi, this would certainly kill. He liked this technique for its lethality, and due to requiring no handseals, the opponent would never see it coming.

Advantages: 1)Requires no handseals
2)The opponent will never see it coming, unless he's a sensory or has super fast reflexes. This is a one-hit KO.
3)Has a mid range reach.

Disadvantages: 1)Falls in a linear arc.
2)Even though it's lethal, it's a C-Ranked technique, and timely defending wouldn't kill the opponent.
3)It is only a single drop, and isn't widespread thus.

How would you use it in a battle: I would start by initiating a genjutsu, or trap the opponent using an Earth jutsu or w/e, and then use it above him. The key point here, is to engage him in something, so that he doesn't get time to react to the falling rain. Rain Genjutsu(If I make a cj)+this technique would be deadly.

That awkward moment when I have a Rain Genjutsu cj xD

Ace easily performs one of the deadliest Rain techniques, or rather, one of the sneakiest. Without anything to add, Dean simply nods his head and shows Ace that he was on the right track whilst he was talking. Once he finished, Dean threw the scroll towards Ace, as he starts speaking.

"Well done, Ace. Here is the technique you just learned."

Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user manipulates their chakra to condense a single raindrop into a more solid form. The raindrop becomes as sharp as a blade. The disadvantage to this jutsu is that the raindrop falls in a straight line.

"Now, the next technique is one of a supplementary nature. Best used after the rain has fell for a while, this technique starts off by sending your Rain chakra into several raindrops. As these raindrops fall onto the ground, they will cause a small spike of water to be generated from water puddles on the ground. This is also a sneaky technique as there is no way to really sense these spikes of water, and combined with a later rain technique, it becomes deadly. Can only be used if there are puddles present of course. Use it on my clone."

Dean creates a clone that stands before Ace.

Lol. Nice. xD

The clone was truly a poor bastard, being hit by deadly techniques, one by one. Nodding at Dean's instructions, Ace observed the falling raindrops and focused on some of them. He then inserted his Rain chakra into some of them, as it lay dormant in them. Once the drops hit the puddles formed by the already heavy rain, the chakra within them sprung forth and he shape manipulated it to form a small spike of water to emerge from the ground, which couldn't be sensed by the clone, and which proceeded to impale his legs, causing minor damage and holding him in place.

Advantages: 1)No handseals required.
2)If used right, the spikes can be deadly, as well can be used to hold the opponent in place.
3)There's no straight way to sense the spikes coming from the ground.

Disadvantages: 1) This tech requires an existing source of small amount of water, so is extremely land or water based.
2)The spike, being C-ranked in strength, isn't really lethal.

How would you use it in a battle: I would use this to hold the opponent in place, or to discourage Taijutsu users, using their own momentum and speed against them, since the sudden emergence of the spike would disorient their body and make them vulnerable to attacks.

The sneaky puddle Rain based technique is performed by Ace with ease, and as such, the training continues. The cold rain falls onto Dean, causing him to remember his days back in Amegakure. The classic times, but also the place he picked up his drinking habit >,> Snapping out of it, Dean throws the scroll towards Ace.

"Well done, Ace. Here you go."

Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The user of this technique must place chakra into one or more raindrops. As the drops of rain hit the ground they create a small sized spike of water from puddles on the ground. For this technique to work there must be water on the ground and it must be raining.

"Now, the next technique is one that has various variations throughout Rain release, and this is the most basic one, The technique starts off by condensing a large amount of Rain into a single spot in the air, through the use of Rain chakra. This condensed amount of Rain is then formed into a spear of rain, slightly condensed in form, which hangs in the air until it is called down with a hand seal. This means that it just sits there for up to three turns till it is called down, where it can then pierce an opponent and deliver some great damage. It falls in a straight line and turns into normal rain after said three turns, and can be noticed by a slight pause in the rain when the large amount of Rain water is condensed. Use it against my clone."

Interesting.

Ace heard the description of the next technique from Dean and was visibly surprised. Once more, observing the falling rain, he gathered his Wind and Water natured chakras, mixing them in the right amount to form Rain chakra, which he then inserted into some of the raindrops. He then, performed shape manipulation, condensing his chakra highly, giving the raindrops the shape of a spear, which just hung about in the atmosphere, unbeknownst to the clone. After some time, with a mental command, he let the rain spear fall upon the clone, as he disappeared with the trademark poof sound.

Advantages: 1)Requires no handseals
2)You can summon the dormant rain spear whenever you want
3)If used right, it does quite some damage, considering it falls from above and can be used particularly to distract an opponent.

Disadvantages: 1)After three turns, it turns back to normal rain.
2)It falls in a linear arc, thus easily counterable when reacted at the right time.
3)It can be noticed by a slight pause in the rain when the spear is formed.

How would you use it in battle: I wouldn't use this to kill against good opponents. I would use this as a distraction, even for a small amount of time, because the opponent has to look above to see the change in the atmosphere. While he's distracted, I would follow up with an Earth jutsu to trap him or place him in a genjutsu which doesn't require eye contact. Alternatively, I could also finish him with up a lightning jutsu, giving him no time to react, unless he has enhanced senses and tracking.

One of the most used Rain techniques was just performed by Ace. They were moving at a steady pace, though Dean wasn't sure if Ace wanted to kick it up a notch. Other than that, all was good. The steady rain started to make Dean feel a bit cold, as he got used to the climate in Iwagakure. This was simply odd now.

"Well, that's good. Here you go. By the way, should we do two techniques at a time?"

Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: By using chakra to condense a large amount of rainwater into one place, the user creates a spear of water in the clouds. The spear can at any time be called down to strike an opponent with only one hand-seal. The water will stay in the form of spear for a short amount of time (three posts). If the spear is not used by that time it will fall uselessly as rain. The only warning this technique gives is a second pause in the rain when the water is gathered and condensed.

"Okay, now for the next technique. The technique starts off by focusing your Rain based chakra into the area around the opponent, which causes the opponent to become like a magnet for the rain. This causes the opponent to "attract" the raindrops, which will then attach themselves over the opponent. Once enough rain has gathered on the opponent, the rain will also attach with the ground, holding the opponent in place. Use it against my clone."

Dean creates a clone that runs towards Ace.
