My parents are a New Zealander and an Australian. I have an Australian accent. Usually I get asked when playing on PSN or Xbox Live if I ride a kangaroo to school. They also believe Kangaroo's hop around the city streets. When people find out that my dad is from New Zealand they typically ask if he is a sheep shagger, which is a ridiculous stereotype derived from the large amount of sheep and wool business in NZ.

And this applies to how many people? I am 100 million percent positive that only a small fraction of people live like the bottom panels. In fact most of the UAE is famous for exploiting their people.

The Gulf is much better off than most people think. I've lived in the Kingdom for a while, and believe me its more prosperous than you're average westerner would think. Did you know that petroleum is like 17-18 cents(US) a liter in Saudi Arabia(was that way a year ago)? Where i lived there were no electricity bills either. Due to the negligible cost of energy in the country as a whole, industry is fairly well developed and stuff like automobiles are very cheaply available so i would'nt be surprised at seeing quite a few of such vehicles over there.

Oh, and there are no taxes(in Saudia). NO TAXES.

I'm merely drawing your attention to the existence of such people in growing numbers, but I am certainly not denying the existence of of people living below the poverty line and their number is growing as well.

And UAE, well, I don't think so, maybe, but they're likely to be exploiting Indians to be honest and not their own people, that's what my friend, who lives there, told me.

What I meant by applies to all Gulf countries is that you find similar scenarios in all gulf countries, thanks to oil revenue.

The essence of stereotyping is, after all, generalization.

Hey racial stereotypes are there for a reason (mostly because they are funny.)

As long as it isn't mean then there is nothing wrong with it.

For example I am a white male, and I can tell you that I have no rhythm and cannot dance at all.

Most of my black friends are not as proficient as I am at swimming.

All of my asian friends are small and fast, which I assume means that they are ninjas.

Stereotypes are just based off of general truths that while not indicative of an individual, are almost always applicable to a group/culture as a whole.

Your first sentence is dumb because that is a group that's sole purpose is to exclude other races, so of course it is going to be comprised entirely of white people.

Your second paragraph does not make any sense either. In fact I feel like you are making a very poor attempt at attacking my post.

You see there "General Truths" are facts

Stereotypes are just observations a truth can't be general unless it applies for all

Now a Specific Truth is a bit different since that's what you in actuality listed in your first post example;

All of your Asian friends are small and fast.

Unless someone is performing a scientific experiment on a race with a significant amount of people involved in the study - where generalizations would be required, there is no need to stereotype.

I'm talking more about medical/health stereotypes, like, gay men tend to have a higher risk of acquiring HIV than straight men. That is a generalization that should be accepted within society not shunned, because it can save lives.

However, a stereotype like "If you're a muslim you must be a terrorist" is not needed and certainly not true.

The terrorists that were involved in the 9/11 attack JUST HAPPENED to be muslims.
