Sometimes you can just spot hypocrisy, its quite hilarious. Pain didn't have killing intent against Naruto, which is how he won, but as soon as you apply that standard to Vote 1 or 2, with Naruto " OHHH No, he went all out like Sasuke" Well then, Pain went all out in the end too, so it didn't matter what intent he had then.

The only way Naruto could beat Pain alone is actually in BSM. So there really isn't any true downplay thinking that he can't beat Pain without Kurama, still, his performance was legit.

Somehow sausages think that Jinchuriki should fight without tailed beast.....

Naruto did call upon the Kyuubi, but the fact that HE alone beat Pain remains. In the same way the MS saved Sasuke from Bee the Kyuubi saved Naruto. But let's also keep in mind the Peins weren't at full power, and Bee wasn't particularly trying against Taka.

People sometimes discredit what Naruto did alone without the Kyuubi's help. For instance, Naruto took out a majority of the Pain's without using the Kyuubi's power.

And after the his talk with Minato, he finished off the last Pain, again without the Kyuubi's help. I think that's what you were trying to explain, right? Either way, Naruto needed the Kyuubi overall because he was going to be captured, and because Pain at that time was at a disadvantage, which meant Naruto could take out as many as he could before his real powers returned.

In both situations Naruto was saved by Kyuubi. Yes he did beat most of the paths by himself, but in the end he lost to Tendo, and would get captured if not Kyuubi's help
