In my AP literature and composition class, we read 'Self-Reliance by Ralph Waldo Emerson' and I liked what he said in a specific paragraph.
Here's the quote:
"The other terror that scare us from self-trust is out consistency; a reverence for our past acts or words because the eyes of others have no data for computing our orbit than out past acts, and we are loth to dissapoint them."
As we read, it caught my eyes, so I end up writing it down for self pleasure more than anything.
How many of you can relate or agree with the quote?
Edited:
To emphasize my point, I'll say that at times when I make mistakes and try to learn from them and strive to be a better person or change my ways yet those who I've hurt or made myself look bad in front of, CANT accept the change and forever see me as a bad person.
Any of you feel like that? or had that happen?
