Is really freaking hard. GO, children of Naruto Base. Inspire me with your words 'o wisdom.

Take your fingers from my hair, they have gotten us nowhere. We can't last another second. For we are two, too lost for open doors. Take your memories and your ways, let me see a brighter day. Greener fields aren't hard to hope for; it's just hard to go on living here without you.

Gosh darn't, I need a cigarette. Just a puff, a nice and rich Turkish/Domestic blend filtered camel please. The delicious taste of Samsun and Izmir tobacco laced with luscious Virginia Tobacco is calling to me. But no, I must resist.

High noon, oh I'd sell my soul for water. Nine years worth of breakin' my back. There's no sun in the shadow of the wizard. See how he glides, why he's lighter than air? Oh I see his face!

But seriously, how I lust for the lingering aroma of burning tobacco, leaving it's everlasting residue on every surface it tarnishes, especially my lungs. How I wish to gasp for a shorter life, just for one taste of luxury.

The roses in the window box, have tilted to one side. Everything about this house was born to grow and die. Oh, it doesn't seem a year ago to this very day. You said I'm sorry honey, if I don't change the pace, I can't face another day.

Anyway, yeah, I'm trying to quit smoking. I think my attempts truly are in vain though, as this is harder than a fifteen mile ruck march with a ninety pound ruck.

When lonely winds blow cold, and my world moves down below it's a sign to make a change. Among the platform crowd, words clear as clouds Say you can't remain the same. And familiar voices cry my name, I'm on the last train home, on the last train home.

It's not hard. You're making it hard yourself.
The need of nicotine ends in three days and after that it's just kicking the habit you have developed.
Just simply don't smoke. Don't make a number of it. Don't quit for someone else. Do it for your own sake.

You'll do just fine. I smoked for almost 10 years and I quitted on the wall.
Just like that ;)

Unfortunately, I'm a creature of habit. Just the lack of a similar activity makes me feel uncomfortable and on edge.

Maybe I should just switch to Heroin.

Eat candy every time you want to smoke.
That will give you something to take your mind of things.

And BELIEVE IT. (In yourself, i mean.) :D

My grandfather died of lung cancer 10 years ago and my boss of 5 years passed away last February from extreme COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulimnary Disorder, basically your lungs fill up with fluid and you eventually drown within yourself) and I still smoked. Until, I went to the hospital and seen how completely terrible the people who were suffering and literally on their death beds due to smoking for years and years. Then, it all hit home when I seen one of those patients standing outside with a little girl (probably a grand-daughter), a cigarette in their mouth, and a oxygen tank hooked up to their nose. I thought to myself, "What the f*ck am I doing this for? I've got to be able to see my children grow old and to see my grandkids do the same crazy a*s sh*t to them like I did to my mom and dad. It's only fair!" I know its hard bro, and you're right, the taste or some Turkish Blend has gotten me through some hard times. But, 3 things pushed me through. 1. Seeing my beautiful children and my grandchildren (Our lives are already short enough, the more kids you got the faster time moves) 2. Mind over matter (I'm NOT gonna let something control me/my thoughts/my body etc...) 3. They're just tooooo damn expensive ($$$Can't afford no more$$$) Hang in their man. You wouldn't be trying to quit if deep down you really didn't want to. Like Enemy said, have faith in yourself and believe you can.

Couple of tips/suggestions:

1)Make a new routeen for your day. This will change how your brain works, and thinks.

2) Dont think of it as quiting your human therefor flawed by nature. Its easier to think about it in terms of stopping rather than quiting (you wont have quit smoking until the day you die, but you can stop and reach the goal of stopping this very second)

3)Replace your bad habbit with 5-10 new ones. Ex: You smoke everytime your finished eating, instead wash dishes and listen to music. (again this is to get your brain out of a habit.)

4)Dont talk to or be around people who can or will enable your addiction to tobacco. (same thing goes for any addict in recovery this increases your chance of not relapseing)

5) Know why you started to smoke in the first place. And either change or deal with the reasons you started in the first place to prevent a relapse. (be honest with yourself because in the end its not just you who is affected by your former habit.)

6)Everytime you light a smoke think about this technicaly your sucking butt... and you end up smelling like it as well. (this seems to be largely unapealing to the opposite ***)

7)Also everytime you buy a pack your paying someone to kill you, so you can kill yourself. (not that were not all going to die anyhow but toteing around a oxygen tank for x amount of years seems really annoying)
