So Ive known this riddle for quite a while, can you guess correctly?

Ok here goes,

So the night guard has a dream that his king would be assasinated . . . . By an assasin. Ok so this worried fellow hurries to tell his king about his premonition. So he gets to the King and tells him the whole story but when the King hears this he takes out a sword and kills the messenger.

So why did the king kill the guard?

You got it, I thought it would take more than two posts but oh well plus rep
This is basically your thread:

1. A night guard has a nightmare about an assassin.

2. The night guard goes to tell the king about his dream.

3. A third character appears out of nowhere (the messanger) and somehow knows the night guards dream.

4. The messenger, who out of bad luck, gets randomly killed by the king for telling him about someone else's dream.

So would the worried fellow be a fourth character?
