Well, trying to figure out his opponent ability make him a little too slow to react I think, though that was in gaiden and it was plot.

If he was younger, he would have taken the initiative and used kagen bushin to restrain Shin
Though the plot was ridiculous, Naruto witnessed Shin grabbed Sasuke's sword and knew about his ability. He was late to connect these two and Sasuke had to get in the avatar instead of finished Shin who fell on the ground.

In the movie, he didn't do such things.

This is true, but going on what they have right now and currently... I can't really say it's not one sided at this point. Naruto/Sasuke are able to take them down individually as adults without a problem.

Yeah, they might but it's not going to be easy.

Naruto is stronger than madara but the thing is madara is immortal and needs to be sealed.

Just remove Immortality or give him the seals and he'll low diff him at best, same goes for Sasuke
