[Question] how did itachi use izanami?

im asking this cuz izanami and izanagi is from the same group of jutsu.
my reasoning is this. this stuff about yin and yang shit.

to be able to use izanagi you need a sharingan you also need to have the hashirama power. (as told by obito to konan)

so if izanagi and izanami is in the same family of jutsu(they both make you lose an eye)

how is it that itachi is able to use it? does he also have hashirama's cells?

the idea of someones cells being used by another is already an absurd idea. i think kishi is going too far with this unbelieveable bs.

i think an uchiha can use both izanagi and izanami without SENJU DNA....it`s just that it becomes more effective with SENJU DNA....it lasts longer

Izanami was created to stop those who used Izanagi. It was developed as a purely Uchiha thing if I understand correctly. But hey, f*** logic.

Hashirama's DNA isn't a prerequisite for either jutsu, as they were both utilized by the uchiha long before the the implanting Senju DNA became prominent.

well, one theory is : kabuto used zetsu to empower edo tensei further for the war, and zetsu is made from hashi dna
and itachi is uchiha, so thats how

Izanami and Izanagi are not the same techniques. Izanagi was used by people that wanted to escape death in a fight, which resulted in a lot of people misusing it, so the Uchiha created the Izanami to prevent that.

However, just because Hashi's cells increase the power (duration) of the Izanagi, it doesn't mean that the Izanami is connected to the Senju at all. Just because they have similar names, they don't necessarily need to be related. You also make the mistake of thinking that Senu DNA is necessary for the Izanagi, as PDG has already explained.

The technique was created by the uchiha so you didn't need senju dna, they use senju dna to increase the strength, power, control and the duration of the technique, itachi was able to use it because he's an uchiha and that's where it originated from hope this helps!

As above said, Senju DNA is needed only to prolong izanagi. In actual fight, a few seconds of izanagi would be worthless. But Tobi could use it for more than 10 minutes, that was enough to counter Konan's jutsu.
