question concerning nagato and rennegan

Ok so since the rennegan is just an advanced stage of the sharingan does that mean nagato also possessed the sharingan?

no he got given the rennigan which explains why he got tired so quicky (when i say quickly i mean ofr some one who posses the renningan) when facing naruto and why he aged after using some of its techniques

Not necessarily. Tobi claimed to have given Nagato the Rinnegan. If Tobi knew that the Rinnegan was the step beyond the Sharingan, he could have created a Rinnegan and given that to Nagato. Otherwise, Nagato would have shown his Sharingan in the past. Tobi giving Nagato a Rinnegan already to go is the only way I can think of Nagato not using the Sharingan in the past.

i think nagato didnt use sharingan techs ONLY becuz he never used sharingan techs and didnt kno he cud use them. only madara new rinnegan was shharingan stage.

i believe if he knew the sharingan ems techs his rinnegan possessed he cd use them but all he knew was paths.

That seems incorrect. Mostly because nagato is the only one seen use this power

yeah I know it was given to him but kakashis sharingan isnt really his either but yet he was able to awaken mangekyo so thats why it seems like nagato should have been able to use sharingan techs as well, like susanoo for instance
