He would have went nutz had DANZO done something to Sasuke. But thats only because Itachi had a ''deal'' with them so if it wasnt respected, they would have made them pay. But thats also because Danzo is a fishy character would does that kind a crap, and while some of his motives were for the greater good, above all, they were so that he would stand at the top (complex of inferiority to Sarutobi made him like that)

Had Sasuke died from random people like Deidara or Oro, he would have likely killed Deidara, and surely killed Oro.... but he wouldnt have became nutz in the long run.... he was far too mature and knew exactly what it meant to be a shinobi. The worst thing he could have done is to kill himself.... as the only reason he kept himself alive was because he wanted to make Sasuke stronger. Itachi wanted to die, Obito himself said he was praying for the RELEASE OF DEATH, living was already an agony for him, killing himself is the option that would have had the most chance of happening.
