Question about Edo Tensei

I don't really understand how this jutsu works. When the Edo tensei user use this jutsu, it takes back the soul of the one who needs to be resurrected in another body, right? In this case, the guy would be resurrected in the exact same state as when he died, or am i wrong?

Then why Itachi for example wasn't blind when he was resurrected? Sasuke even stole his eyes, so normally he should not even have had Sharingan, or am i wrong?:shrug: The same goes for Nagato whose eyes were stolen by Tobi. But curiously Nagato in the contrary was revived weakened like when he died. Plot?

Good question, In my opinion Edo Tensei restore the dead in a state that he used to be right after his death, that's explained why Nagato returned weakend physically (white hair) and Kakuzu with only one heart ... +rep for the good question

Sasori didn't have a body at the time of his death.

sasori was back at the status of his DNA, and we do not know from which time kabuto got the dna, i think if he get the dna of the time where itachi was not blind it will revive the body of that time. It is i guess about the Time of the Body, thats what people mean by "prime"~
