Quality of avatars

So i made a avatar, but when i upload it to Narutobase the quality drops and makes the avatar look bad.
Anyway to keep the quality?

I use photoshop online, after that i add borders from Lunapic, the one i use now is 13.1 KB

If it's 13.1kb then its very low quality to begin with. Try get the file size higher but not above 500Kb.

I think it's because the sites i get borders from, anyway to add borders from somewhere else?

Mostly by choosing sharper and more quality renders and stocks. And another one would be using the sharpen method, but not overdoing it.

I don't know what you use to create borders with but download a photo-manipulation program and learn how to do one or ask a member here to slap a border on it if it's the original border you say that cuts the quality.
