Purpose of Itachi losing his left eye?

Now if Itachi is resurrected as Edo Tensei and is resurrected with his only right eye, then what do you guys think? Is this Kishi's foreshadowing that Itachi will be resurrected back to fight against Sasuke once again?

I mean, Kishi made Itachi use his left eye for Izanami, the eye which uses Tsukuyomi. That eye is lost against Kabuto.
So if Orochimaru resurrects Itachi under full control, I could see a battle of eyes once again.
But since Sasuke is capable of breaking out of Tsukuyomi, and assuming that Sasuke can only manipulate his own Amaterasu. This could be a battle of Amaterasu. OR Kishi downgrades Sasuke to make Orochimaru OP against him. And hence it would be a Amaterasu Itachi vs 3T Sharingan Sasuke.

What do you guys think?

I think he'll still have both eyes when he's resurrected as an Edo once again.

It's just like Madara's eyes, both weren't real when he was legitimately revived.

I seriously doubt Itachi will return again.
He's already died once to let Sasuke complete his "goal" of killing him.
Then he came back to life once already, and explained his story to Sasuke.
So Sasuke had already got closure from Itachi before the Edo Tensei was ended. (which was a great death scene).

So as far I am aware, Sasuke no longer has a reason to fight Itachi anyway?

Itachi's role is done in the manga. And, he died an epic death the second time.
Plus, he'll have both eyes, because of Edo Tensei. Remember, Edo Tensei eyes are fake eyes.

Yeah I know Sasuke has already surpassed Itachi. But we have yet to see Orochimaru's arc when he really attempts to take Sasuke's body through cheap tricks. That's why I asked this question and thought of Kishi downgrading Sasuke's power level for this arc.

I doubt it had any purpose aside from the fact that it should only be logical that the counterpart of the Izanagi should have a similar back draw. Kishi bringing back Itachi again would simply be flat out annoying, and frankly, wouldn't make too much sense.

We know what was Itachi's purpose of living, plus we also know that Sauske didn't beat Itachi like he defeated Danzo. Itachi got a disease and was pushed to the limits. Plus Itachi didn't play a fair fight because his brother wasn't having MS at that time.
But if he's resurrected as a complete killing machine against Sasuke, the situation would be completely different and Sasuke will get a chance to beat Itachi at Itachi's full level.

It's the user's choice not the person's, who gets resurrected.

Orochimaru would know better then to enrage sasuke with his brother.

But now it's assumed that Orochimaru has all the intel from Kabuto. Plus he's just sitting around to see where Sasuke's path goes. When the time comes when Oro attempts to take Sasuke's body, he won't consider how to seduce Sasuke to give away his body, instead he'll weaken him physically and mentally.

But what benefit would the manga gain by bringing him back, to fight again?
Especially now we have a full closure on Itachi's story.
Itachi & Sasuke have made peace, and Itachi has left Sasuke to make his own decisions. So there would no purpose in them fighting again.
They are not in competition, so we do not need an answer to "who would win between them?".

There is nothing more he can bring to the series.

If itachi brought back via edo tensei for bad purpose, the caster would never get him in his best form.
- Itachi knows the seal to cancel/undo edo tensei, he can break free from the jutsu with out crows contain shisui's eye. He will be the worst summon by then.
- If the caster controlled Itachi through programmed kunai, he will not get Itachi's full potential.
