What happened after you took her home O___O?

Puppetry is the use of puppets that are used as weapons or as a extra pair of hands. Most puppets resemble and are shaped in a human manner but that's all up to the puppeteer's such as salamander. Most puppets have hidden contraptions that shoot out projectiles such as smoke bombs, kunai, senbon and all of which are poisoned, meaning one single scratch and its over.
Puppet users are mostly long range fighters meaning it is very hard to get close to the puppeteer. The puppets are controlled with chakra strings that are attached to the fingertips of puppeteer. Most puppets are carried in a scroll allowing easy transportation. There are many puppet users such as Sasori, Kankuro and Chiyo

She needed to thank me for my service with a little... release, I don't wanna talk about it. >_<

Puppets in general are considered weapons, much like kunai or shuriken so like was shown in the Chunin Exam arc, Kankuro was allowed to use his puppets as they didn't count as a second person or anything. Almost all puppets will come with a simple brand of poison unless specified otherwise on the puppet themselves, making them very deadly with even the weakest of techniques.

I'm not sure what this poison is to be quite honest, but it's best to just go with the best comparison we've seen, which would be Sasori's poison which debilitates the target overtime with paralysis, and eventually death. I'll look into that though, just to make sure.

Puppetry is said to originate from Sunagakure, the first being Monzaemon Chikamatsu who had his own collection of ten powerful puppets, now under the command of Chiyo and said to take down a castle alone. Sasori was shown to have created all the puppets Kankuro uses, and thus knows how to exploit their weaknesses such as Salamander's shield. Kankuro just seems to be someone who knows his way around using them and is very strong, which until just before the new rules were implemented had half the techniques to himself.

There's one more you forgot about but he's not too big of a user: Mukade. He made an appearance as the main antagonist in the Naruto Shippuden movie The Lost Tower, where he gets control over a powerful infinite sustain of chakra and is able to create enough chakra threads to control an army's worth of puppets. He was also shown to be capable of absorbing Naruto's Rasenshuriken, augmenting it to his own power.

I could go on forever about this, but I'll stop while I'm ahead.

What do you know about puppetry in terms of the rules we have to follow? You can use the new Puppetry rules as well as the Sasori rules in the Bio Restrictions section to learn the most about it.

Umm you can't have a KG/HA or SM/8IG in the same bio,

- you can have a max of two human puppets, Dojutsu and kaguya kg won't work as puppets

-Puppet rank is based on bio level taken,No Customs from the puppets original bio are transferred.

-Puppet users may not have shadow clone (other kinds of clone can't control puppets.

-1 heart transfer to another puppet only. heart transfer immediately puts the rank of the puppet up to that of the
user. the new puppet with the heart can't support 100 puppets as it doesn't have the modifications to do so.)

-only 3 puppet summons may be active at any time. (for example you can have the 100 puppets that sasori summoned [as this classes as one summon] and 2 more puppet summons.)

-only a maximum of 2 puppets summons may be performed per turn.

-the owner of a sasori bio may not own any animal summons.

-EIG would be too fast for both sasori and his puppets to use as the chakra threads wouldn't keep up with the speed and break.

-Aburame, Inuzuka, Yamanaka, Akimichi clans all can't use their specialty techniques as they have different requirements, such as a mind, body, animal companionship/relationships.

-As the "heart" can be safely assumed to contain everything to process sight, thoughts, sounds, smell and holds his chakra system, genjutsu will affect sasori.

-Human puppets may not use forbidden techniques, only the puppet which contains Sasori's "Heart"

-A destroyed puppet may be used in your next battle regardless of win or loss, however after your sasori bio is destroyed or taken, all puppets are lost.

-Space/time techniques, bijuu, sage mode, Hidan and kakuzu techniques all cannot be used either.

Sorry for le copying and pasting >.>

Okay, I guess. But most of these aren't even relative to us but are for Sasori which you nor I don't have. I'll just go over the ones which are more related to us.

You can't have a KG/HA or SM/8IG in the same bio
Pretty simple. Unless you had it before the rules came out, you're not allowed to have any extra abilities in your bio. While Puppetry is in my eyes, another brand of ninjutsu and better regarded as a CFS, in our RP it's considered a Hiden Ability/Kekkei Genkai itself. You can, however combine it with Smoke or Sensing, assuming you have the permission to do so. Also this really applies to custom bios or if you choose to pursue SM/EIG.

Puppet users may not have shadow clone (other kinds of clone can't control puppets).
You might disagree with this one, and I don't exactly have a reasoning for why you're not allowed to use Shadow Clones but it's the rule we have to follow. I've found that it's because these clones can also use the chakra threads and control the puppets which would be a problem. I've also found that some people say you'd be overwhelming them with the amount of bodies, but I'm more inclined to go with the first one. This only applies to Shadow Clones, so you can use Water, Rock, Haze clones as well. I'm not too sure on the Lightning/Earth Shadow Clones either, but it might be allowed since they can only use their respective elements.

Only 3 puppet summons may be active at any time. (for example you can have the 100 puppets that sasori summoned [as this classes as one summon] and 2 more puppet summons.)
Another fairly simple one with a simple description. You're allowed to have up to three summons on the field at the same time. Some of them like Sasori's Hundred Puppet Army will count as one puppet, so you can have two more on the same time. Well technically you could only have one more since to have that active you'd need to have his body active to use that technique in the first place. xD But anyway, some puppet summons like Sasori's Parents can be summoned seperately, but will still count as one summon even if you do that. There are some cases, like Monzaemon Chikamatsu's 10 Puppet Army that Chiyo uses which can be the only puppet out at the time of using it.

Only a maximum of 2 puppets summons may be performed per turn.
Generally as a rule which I asked Nexus about a long time ago, if the technique exists, you have to use it and it can't be done passively unless it's stated in the description. Summoning two puppets is the maximum allowed in a turn so you have an extra turn to use your Chakra Thread technique in order to be able to use them. I mean sure you could summon three in a turn, but you couldn't use the chakra threads to use them so they'd be sitting there doing nothing.

That's all you need to worry about since the rest applies to Sasori specifically. If you want to know about them, I can tell you but since you don't have Sasori you don't really need to know that much about them. When you're ready we'll move on. ^^

It might be wise to keep this info somewhere, even when the trainings finished. :p I'm always trying to get more and more knowledge myself to either know exactly how to use it with as little flaws as possible, or to get stronger with it, and then passing this information off to other people willing to learn.

(Kugutsu No Jutsu) - Puppetry Technique
Rank: D
Type: Attack/Defense/Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10(-4 each turn its used after wards)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes threads of chakra that are used to control puppets.
Pretty basic, and the first technique we have to learn in order to utilize them to the best of our ability. I personally think this ability is overpowered in terms of how you can use it, all about creativity. It's simple, you thin out your chakra, extending them from your fingertips and attaching them to your desired puppets. Though you don't have to use this purely for puppets, but you can also use it for binding people for short periods of time which would give me time to do what I want to do, for example.

I'm not going to ask you to perform it or anything, since it's pretty basic. Instead I'll ask for you to present a unique way you could use this technique in battle, not using it to use a puppet.

Attaching it to my enemies projectiles and flinging them back at them.

Attaching it to my opponent

Attaching it to a nearby object, pulling myself out of a projectile jutsu

Attaching it to a flying summon allowing me to fly with it also.

Attaching it to my team mate pulling them out of danger.

etc

1. Yes you can do that, and it's probably one of the most basic uses of the technique outside of using it to control puppets. While it's debateable, I don't firmly believe you'd just be able to stop them in mid-flight, but you'd have to guide them towards them. So for example, you throw a kunai at me and I redirect it to circle around me and send it back to you using the momentum and weight. That way it's like it's spinning on an axis, and not just stopping it in midair.

2. Okay, but only strong puppeteers can do anything drastic with this, only small things. Personally I use this action to temporarily bind someone's hands while in the middle of performing seals in order to stop them from doing so, and then using another action, say controlling a puppet to attack on them while they can't do much. It's all about creativity and how you use them, but it's a tricky situation. People most likely will call you out on it if you try to perform anything super fantastic through this method. You can't just control their entire movements, but rather restrict them.

3. This is one big misconception with this technique, they're just thin chakra threads and not full-on ropes you can use. You wouldn't be able to pull yourself at all, or at least I don't believe the threads would be strong enough to do so, so I don't urge you to try it. Though I have a custom which allows me to achieve that effect, if you stick with puppets I might teach it to you. :)

4. Again, this wouldn't work as it falls under the same clause of trying to pull yourself to something. They're only thin threads, this wouldn't be possible. If the bird is strong enough to carry you, just ride on it's back, you'd be able to then control your hands which would otherwise be restricted to holding yourself to the flying summon.

5. While this can technically happen (there's a canon jutsu not implemented in our RP for it; Skillful Achievement with a Human Body) it requires immense cooperation with your teammate. You can't just pull someone out the way of the technique, first of all they'd have to be willing for you to take control of them which requires communication, but otherwise it's possible.

If you have any questions, now's a good time to ask them. If not we move onto the actual puppets.

(Karasu) Crow
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: Crow is the very first puppet we see in the series. It was created by Sasori, but is later used by Kankurou. Crow is a three eyed, four armed humanoid. Crow is one of the more basic puppets, but he is able to detach any of its body parts for deadly attacks, almost every joint having a blade at the end, allowing Crow to shoot his arms towards the opponent, and then have them return back to it. Even his head has a blade that can be extended out from the bottom of its neck when detached. This ability made it and Black Ant a very deadly combination. It also has the ability, like most puppets do, to release poison-tipped darts and smokescreens, which sometimes have poisonous gas mixed with them.
Note: Can only be used by a Suna puppet user

(Kuroari) Black Ant
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: Black Ant, created by Sasori, is a puppet that is often used in conjunction with Crow and, later on, Salamander. It has a bucket-shaped face with two red horns and a total of six arms. It, like Crow, has three eyes. Its body resembles a very large barrel, and it is hollow on the inside, making its main use to be that of trapping, while weapons enter the many slots on its body. At any time, Black Ant can literally open its stomach, and trap an opponent, able to extend the two halves of its stomach so that it stretches out and over the opponent from a very fair distance (approximately mid range) and then retracts the stomach back to its original form, closing it with the opponent inside. Its arm segments contain hidden saw-blades. Like Crow, Black Ant can detach its arms for attacks.
Note: Can only be used by a Suna puppet user

(Sanshōuo) Salamander
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: Salamander is a defensive puppet, though not on the level of defense as that of Hiruko. Salamander, as its name suggests, is built in the form of a large salamander, being one of the largest puppets seen thus far, and though it is not more powerful defensively than Hiruko, it is larger than the other puppet. Salamander is able to rise up a large area on its back to be used as a shield, making a black shield over its head. It, like some other puppets, is hollow, and it can open its back at any time and then rise up its large tail over its head, stretching it out and therefore allowing the puppet user to jump inside of it for protection. Salamander can also spew out fire equal to C rank. Salamander can only be destroyed by one who knows its weak spots, being a weak joint on its side that holds the shield in place and afterwards simply striking it on its back, or by a move of A rank or higher.
Note: Can only be used by a Suna puppet user
This group of puppets are the basic three everyone get to use so long as they originate from Sunagakure when it comes to custom bios. They're pretty much the main trio which everyone should be able to use because of their uniqueness but extreme ability to work with each other. Crow and Black Ant are generally the main attacking force while Salamander sits back and acts as the defense. I'll clarify this a little more:

Crow is the offense of the three, with the most usages for it's appendages and most of the techniques centralizing around his ability to hold many weapons as well as releasing most of his appendages. One of the biggest traits about Crow is the ability to take a part it's entire body and put it back together again, and is best used with Black Ant's unique shape.

Black Ant is the supplement to Crow's many antics. It's unique shape and build compliments Crow's ability to segregate it's entire body in order to stab people with the tips at the end. The simple idea is for Black Ant to open it's large body up to capture someone, while Crow seperates it's body to reveal the dart-like tips at the end of each part which all stab into the encased target.

Salamander on the other hand is the defense to the trio. While you work your magic with the first two, the third is huge and isn''t exactly the easiest puppet to move around due to it's size. It's got a big shield which will protect you from attacks, a large salamander-like body which you can use to the best of your imagination and a flamethrower built into it's mouth, which is great for keeping people at bay.

It's a little short, but you get the jist of it, most of these have techniques which we'll learn about later which utilize most of their functions to a greater extent. If you don't have questions, we'll mvoe on.

No, Salamander's shield is strong and sturdy which can't be destroyed unless you know the weak spot of the shield which if I remember correctly dislodges that part from the body. Other than that, if the technique is A-Rank, the shield will be destroyed just from the force. Of course, this is also dependent on the technique being used. So really it depends on if the technique is of B-Rank or lower, whether the shield will be able to block it. Also if the technique was B-Rank but received a boost to the technique to make the power A-Rank, the shield would be destroyed.

One more thing is that the shield does count as a freeform counter, since you wouldn't need to spend a move for it you can defend against such techniques and still leaving your three moves intact.

Speaking of freeform, that's the next thing we're going to go over. Puppetry freeform is a little different from your standard taijutsu or kenjutsu freeform, but the principle is the same thing. The only difference is that you're allowed to use anything which is mentioned in the description and that you don't physically have to get into short range in order to do it; you just control the puppet. For example, it mentions that Salamander is in the shape of a lizard, so you can use the tail to hit someone, or using it's mouth to bite someone.

So what I would like for you to do is to create your own freeform attack using the three puppets and their abilities. Remember that they're all designed for different things, but you're free to do whatever you like. It'll be a standard scenario where there's a person, or dummy in this case standing mid-range from your initial position and you're free to attack.

Understood ^^

I begin by attaching my chakra threads onto each puppet. Once connected I begin to move my fingers, manipulating crow causing it to shot out several poisoned smoke grenades, removing the vision of the dummy on crow. With him now blinded, (also poisoned if human) I manipulate Black ant, to move him behind the dummy unknown to him. With black ant behind the opponent, I cause crow to shoot out a volley of poisoned tip kunai's along with senbons towards the dummy, while Crow slashes at the user from behind with his blades located in his arms.

With the brutal attack over, I manipulate Salamander to use its tail to pick up the dummy an place it in Black ants hollow body. I then manipulate crow to detach its limbs revealing large blades on the ends of each limb. I guide the limbs through the holes in crow body, impaling the dummy in multiple places.

Alright, but one thing you want to look out for is using abilities which already exist as existing techniques, which is most of what you've done. Since this is pure freeform, it's alright but just watch out for it, since a lot of the time the puppet doesn't specifically say it can use those techniques. I'll help you out with some notes which can be used in a freeform like situation.
  • Keep in mind that these puppets have more limbs than a standard human being, and can manipulate them to perform ideal movements which would only be restricted to the likes of Kidomaru. You can make them hold more weapons in order to have more weapons thrown at a time, or swords and so on.
  • Things like seperating Crow's limbs or just using Black Ant's barrel body to cage someone does count as freeform movements. Also you can be creative with such descriptions, so long as they still follow the basic means of how it works, say using the "door" in Black Ant's body in order to hold someone's hands together and prevent them from performing hand seals.
  • Salamander is a large puppet which can have fast movements, like whipping it's tail to knock someone back if they get too close. Additionally, you can use it's large head to bite people, and even create such movements like getting inside the puppet and controlling it from there.
The list can go on forever, but it's all dependent on the puppet and what it's functions are. Just make sure that with freeform you avoid using techniques which exist, and using abilities the puppet should be able to use but can't because it's not in the description.

Well that's it for freeform, next we'll move onto the specific techniques for the puppets.

So basically, there's three categories I'd like to go over for techniques, and I'll explain them briefly.

General techniques: These are basically techniques which every puppet usually has built into them as functions, and even people can use these techniques if they fit the requirements. As an example, Chiyo's right arm is a puppet arm, which can be used for the Chakra Shield technique. There's a few techniques which encompass these traits, and can be pretty much used by any puppet the user has control of.

Puppet-specific techniques: These can only be used by certain puppets unless for some reason it's specified otherwise in a puppet. For example, I have my own custom doll which has the ability to use Puppet May Rain, which can usually only be used by Crow. It's easy to point these techniques out, as they usually have explanation like "the user manipulates crow to do something".

Multiple puppet techniques: Techniques like these encompass the need to use two or more puppets at the same time. These can either be general techniques which you can use two or more of any puppet, or specifically tailored to certain puppets, mostly they'll be Crow and Black Ant. These usually only have up to three puppets, but might require more if the technique calls for it, and will usually use puppets like Sasori's Parents in order to accomplish the result.

It might be a little complex to understand, but if you do we'll go over the first section of general techniques.

(Chakra No Tate) - Chakra Shield
Rank: C
Type: Defensive
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The puppets arm will pop out in four different directions in almost an umbrella-like manner. The arm segments will surround the puppets hand, and from those segments, chakra will emit, each one making one fourth of an entire circle, making a shield of pure chakra.

Simple technique, and any puppet has this function installed into one of their arms. Chiyo herself has her own puppet arm which makes her capable of performing this technique without the use of a puppet. The idea is for you to control a puppet to open up it's arm like an umbrella of sorts, and you focus chakra into the vicinity to create a shield of sorts, which can protect from basic attacks. Typically this works best against Taijutsu, and ninja weapons making it useful against things like Demon Wind Shuriken, but it's not a big technique and is better used to defend a small area rather than a big area.

(Senbon Ame) - Endless Rain of Senbon
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: 30
Description: The puppet will open its mouth wide, unleashing a torrent of senbon. All of the senbon are poison-tipped, meaning that a single hit by one could be deadly. These senbon can shower the opponent for as long as the user wishes.

It's another simple technique which doesn't require much explanation: the puppets have a special contraption inside of them with needles stored, and all of them are tipped with poison. You activate this and it works similarly to a gun, or a crossbow. This can be used for as long as you want which is great for serving as a distraction while you use another puppet to do something else.

(Doku Kemuri) -Poison Smokescreen
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The puppet will open its mouth and shoot out smoke balls that are imbued with poison as well. This can be used to obscure the enemy’s vision and to spread poisonous gas in the area at the same time.

It's simply a smokescreen but with poison imbued into the smoke. This gives two effects of being able to hinder the opponent's eyesight while also poisoning them with the gas. As such, it's a dangerous technique if you can pull it off.

(Doku Kiri Jigoku - Baribari Hyaku Renpatsu) - Poison Mist Hell - 100 Countious Tears
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: 60(- 5 per turn for 3 turns if the target was caught in the mist)
Description: The user send out two puppets. One of the puppets will send out multiple poison bombs. Next both puppets will launch an array of needles that pierce the opponent.
NOTE: Must know puppet jutsu

This is more or less a combination of the Endless Rain of Senbon and the Poison Smokescreen techniques, thus making it more useful in times where you're limited on the technique usage. You use Poison Smokescreen first, and follow up with Endless Rain of Senbon, but with using two puppets instead of one.

These are the puppetry techniques which we call the general techniques, so really any puppet can perform these abilities, without restriction unless the technique for the puppet says otherwise. I've mixed in the multiple puppet techniques which fall under this criteria also, since it's just easier and we get it done a lot quicker. Really these techniques are about the functions of the puppet instead of what's clearly mentioned in the puppets' descriptions.

So what I want you to do is take these techniques, and rearrange them in any order you like. You should order the techniques as what you think is most beneficial to you in a fight. First should be what you think is most valuable, and last should be least, if that's easy enough. I would also like for you to explain your reasoning as to why you chose the order, as well as strengths and weaknesses for each technique.
