With the poison cloud I kinda meant when Deidara uses hiding like a mole jutsu, it'll be hard for him to come out and I doubt Deidara could sense a poison cloud when he's underground, but yes, other than that it's useless.

And I guess you're right that Sasori might not win without the Iron Sand or even his puppet army, so let's say the Third's attacks are useless and Sasori calls upon his puppet army ( Which are actually over 200 puppets instead of 100 ), at that point I think Deidara doesn't stand a chance anymore. He's bound to get scratched, so many individual puppets. He also has his flamethrower to fend off any bombs and attack Deidara at the same time, and let's not forget his ability to switch bodies. He managed to switch bodies after the seal was coming at him at great speed, I think he'll be able to switch easily when there's a bomb coming at him. That is if Deidara gets the chance to attack him.
The purpose of using the Hiding Mole Technique is to create range between Sasori and Deidara so he would probably move in the direction away from the short range poison cloud anyway.

Its about to gets a direct hit first. If Deidara takes to the skies (we shouldn't underestimate his intelligence, he's probably capable of at least this) then he'll automatically have the advantage.

Personally i'm confident that C2 barrages should be able to take down the Third Kazekage's Puppet eventually due to disconnecting Sasori's chakra strings with the use of a explosion and subsequently destroying the puppet.

This may force him later in the battle to use his Performance of 100 Puppets which Deidara could counter perfectly with his use of C3 which would effectively devastate the landscape, destroy all of the chakra strings, eradicate the puppet army and potentially even kill Sasori due to the sheer blast radius.

The flamethrower is a bit iffy. If he uses it too late then he'll only increase the force of the explosion which would inevitable back fire, its pretty short range as its "streams" of fire rather than projectiles and explosions on the level of Deidara's Miniature C2 Dragon would probably harm Sasori whether or not he successively destroys them.

Hmmm I see... But I doubt Deidara would completely avoid the puppet army, it's just impossible for him. Remember Sasori took down a country with them, I doubt he couldn't touch Deidara with them. Your facts are good, but it's just that we know Sasori didn't go all out during his battle, obviously, so we might not have seen his full strenght. And in the Storm games, Sasori uses his puppets in waves, kind of like a giant Gatsuuga. Deidara is sure to get scratched by the time the puppets come out. And Sasori also has a rod in his body that is incredibly fast, even Sakura couldn't dodge it and his puppets give him enough cover to hit Deidara with it.

I can't see Deidara dodge 290+ separate weapons. I can't see anyone do that at all.

I think Deidara would indeed get serious and immediately go airborne, but it still takes time to make a dragon that big, and it all kind of depends on how they start. What I'm saying is that if they both start on the ground, Deidara in a regular state, Sasori in Hiruko, I'm pretty sure Deidara has nothing to shield himself with unless he can make it within a split second. And the mines you talked about were placed by Tobi, so since this is a 1v1 I doubt Deidara can use those.

And let's say Deidara manages to get up in the air and Sasori decides to go with the Third, he can still use Iron Sand Rain, which is a very powerful attack, which means that it will surely reach Deidara from those distances, not to mention Iron Sand World Order, it can also be used as a defense to guard from the explosions.

Oh and let's not forget the Third's poison clouds, it's similar to Deidara's C4 Karura since the only think you have to do is breathe it in, unless Deidara decides to blow himself up like Sakura, but that would be a much bigger blow since it isn't just a paper bomb.

My point is, I can't see Deidara not even getting a single scratch, just a single scratch from anything in Sasori's arsenal. That's why I think the needles will do the job.

Did you even read my post? As if Deidara has the time to make it, and Sasori just stands there waiting to be blown up... Hiruko has a tail, which I've seen can get very long if he wants, he's shown the ability to put it under the ground and attack his enemies with it, which pretty much makes it risky for Deidara to go underground. Not to mention poison clouds when he gets back up = guaranteed death. OHH OKAY

Please make a better post next time.
The irony @ Bold lmao.
First If you're saying Hiruko's tail stretches miles into the air, im done arguing with you. Hiding like a Mole Jutsu buys him time. The only time he put his tail under the ground was in the sand vs Kankuro, which is completely different from the earth. Clay Clones are a perfect diversion to your poison clouds arguement. Once Deidara is airborn he has all the time in the world to make a C3 bomb while sasori is in his Hiruko form. And once again, Hiruko having very little mobility has NO chance of escaping a C3 bomb.

EDIT: I cosign on Negative Knights facts.

I was waiting for you to say that :)

But seriously, you're not very good at this. Don't bother replying to this.

For me I alaways thought deidara would win simply cuz his explosion style could nuke a lot of sasori puppets at once and he could just stay out of reach sasori might be older but I think deidara has it but sasori is more well rounded of the two if u stop deidara explosion style u pretty much got him with sasori u have to stop tht shell thing with the tail
3rd Kazekage puppet 200 puppets and himself so yeah in tht fight my bet goes to deidara but as far as them acting in a team and who's more well rounded as leader would say sasori not by much thou

Sasori could potenially lift himself with his Iron Sand but he would constantly have to keep it active as its not his ability but the Third Kazkeage puppet's. One sneak attack explosion could catch him off guard and he could be sent plummeting into the ground.

Also the point you raised about C3 vs Gaara's Giant Sand Wall. First of all Sasori doesn't have that much sand at his disposal (Gaara's was almost at his ideal location for a fight).

But most importantly only metals can be demagnitized not ordinary Sand. e.g. the Iron sand would withstand the blast of the explosion but the sheer heat would make it lose its magnetic properties rendering it useless as it can no longer be manipulated with magnetic chakra.
Soooo true gaara actually carries a mini desert on his back ppl act as I sasori has mountains worth of iron sand he honestly has the amount gaara used against lee in the chunin exams if not less...

Ok, I'm gonna do a brief rundown now. First of all, I'm gonna come right off and tell you that I do NOT agree that Deidara is superior. I shall explain now.

Your first point has to do with Deidara's bombs being so versitile and fast, that they can get close to Sasori. Obviously this isn't a main point, but it seems as though you think this would put Deidara on the offensive. However, the Iron sand is certainly fast enough to catch most of Deidara's bombs, and the only ones that can get through are the small ones whose explosions would NOT hurt Sasori thanks to his iron sand.

Your second point regards Deidara's C2 dragon. You say that it would go beyond Sasori's range. But that is incorrect. Firstly, there is NOTHING that Deidara can do to stop Sasori closing that range without retreating, which actually means Sasori would be on the offensive. Secondly, the amount of Iron Sand available to Sasori can surely cover such a distance. Also, Sasori can just use some Iron sand to levitate him away.

Of course, you mention clay mines. And YES those WOULD help Deidara to keep Sasori from closing the range. HOWEVER you do not not the fact that TOBI was the one who planted those mines. It was clearly a strategy that they came up with together to take advantage of Tobi's ability. In reality, Deidara cannot use this, because he needs someone else to plant the mines. So there is nothing stopping Sasori from attacking.

Your next point about C4 is correct.

Now about the suicide bomb, there is more to the scenario than you describe. He would only use this if he were poisoned. However, Sasori's poison immediately numbs and immobilizes the target, so that it can hardly move. If Deidara were to reach for more clay, or even to undo the stitches on his chest, he would do so slowly and open himself up to attacks and imminent death before he can blow himself up. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but can't Sasori's poison disrupt chakra flow? If so, Deidara may not even be able to concentrate his chakra to the point where it would explode, let alone make such a big blast. The poison itself would aid in weakening or preventing the suicide bomb.

Deidara's C3 technique is very powerful, however Iron Sand can certainly provide good protection from it. Not only that, but it doesn't seem to me to be a projectile. It has to be dropped on the target, and so it is easy to avoid if one is airborn, which Sasori would be through his iron sand to keep up with Deidara. Similarly, that technique would only be used if Sasori was far far away from Deidara. And Deidara would most likely be unable to escape Sasori that long, and if he does, Sasori is on the offensive. That is the most dangerous scenario, because with Sasori on the offensive, and with Deidara having no substantial defensive techniques, Sasori would certainly be able to cut Deidara due to the superior speed of his puppets.

Now to the demagnetization of Sasori's iron sand. Sure, extreme heat CAN do this. It does have to be around 750 degrees Celcius however, which is pretty hot. We cannot be sure of the temperature that Deidara's explosions can reach. They may be more pressure based than fire based. We know they have flames, but we cannot guarantee that they are hot enough to demagnetize the sand. Also, we haven't even seen the explosions set fire to anything, so their burning abilities may not be so powerful. And finally, they are truly very very fast. Demagnetization would come about from sustained heating, not a short blast.

These are some ways to counter Deidara's techniques. This is frankly not my best work in terms of forming a counter, but whatever. I'll add to it and be more concise later. But right now I'll explain why Sasori's attacks would work better anyways.

Sasori's attacks are all far faster than those of Deidara. His sand is faster, his puppets are faster. Also, Sasori's attacks are overwhelming as opposed to Deidara's. Deidara's come from 1 direction, and you can see them coming and do somthing to avoid them. Sasori's attacks, either by using Iron Sand or his 100 puppets, can and WILL come from all angles, especially if Deidara is airborn. Deidara cannot, as far as we know, expel bombs to cover all of his openings. As a result, 1 miss, which is probable, would lead to 1 cut, which is deadly.

Frankly this is a weak response, but it will do. Sorry it's so late, I've been busy.

I think Sasori would win with his poisen.
I know Deidara is fast, and can fly around in the air with his claybomb dragon, but managing to dodge every single poison weapon is simply to difficult for him...

Deidara would also have a hard time against the iron sand...

Deidara would manage a draw though if he suicide bomb himself ;)

Nice thread Negative Knight :D Keep it up :)
I think that Diedara would summon a giant bird, blow the poison away while getting away from him and BLOW SASORI UP. But hey, who am I to say that? Diedara was his superior..

On another note, Pain and Tobito are such trolls, putting the then known "tobi" as the lowest member of the group as Diedara (sempai's) partner when they both knew he was leader. lol

Good thread. I think Deidara must've thought of Sasori as his superior because of how much he respects him and his "art". Somewhat like how Madara is speaking of Hashirama at the moment (unless Hashirama does have more abilities or techniques that are unknown to us that would keep him above Edo Madara).

Though it's entirely possible that the puppets that Sasori didn't use in his fight with Chiyo and Sakura had effective lightning style attacks that would nullify the effectiveness of Deidara's explosive clay completely. Perhaps attacking Deidara's bag of clay directly with a lightning attack to render all of his clay useless but that's if it even lands. Along with the use of the Third Kazekage maybe after Deidara's clay is made useless to prevent the Iron Sand from demagnetizing.

But from what i've seen, I do see Deidara having higher chances than Sasori. Though if Deidara receives a scratch from a poisoned weapon or breathes in the poison gas, he's going to have to try to stalemate by blowing himself up along with Sasori(NOTE:the poison would numb Deidara and he'll be open to an attack as he slowly reaches for his clay).

I just wish we could've seen all of Sasori's puppets.

EDIT:I read FizzyDrink's post and I agree with him. Now I do see Sasori coming out on top mainly because Deidara's explosions may not be hot enough to demagnetize the Iron Sand. Also, because Deidara can't use the mines without having someone else plant them.

+rep for such an amazing thread as always...... but this battle can go either way as some others have said, but i would go with sasori on this since he is deidara's senior lol... here are my reasons why sasori would win, i have no doubt sasori will start this out in hiruko mode witch is one of his most used puppets, deidara's C1 explosions would be renderd useless against hiruko's advanced defense so deidara will have to step up his game switching to his C2 dragon wich hiruko would have an extremely diffulcult time dealing with, so sasori would switch to the kazekage, deidara would have to be using his giant bombs wich use up a good amount of chakra on sasori since sasori can use the iron sand to defend him self from deidara's smaller bombs thats why deidara would have to use bigger bombs to break through the iron sand but the sand can also be used to attack, as you have seen in the garaa vs deidara fight deidara had a hard time dodging garra's sand so instead of attacking deidara would be busy trying to evade the iron sand making the C2 dragon transformation useless against sasori's iron sand since the C2 dragon is an easy target since it is a very large target making it easy to hit and is slow wich would make it hard to try to evade attacks, so ultimately deidara would have to use drastic measures to beat sasori such as his C3 statue bombs, as we know sasori would not be able to out run the blast raduis so that would leave him to use the iron sand or hiruko to protect himself im pretty sure the iron sand and hiruko could probably take a hit from one of those blast but if deidara decided to use it again it would destroy his defense, but after those two blast deidara would probably not be able to use it again since it requires a lot of chakra, so sasori would be forced to use to use him self or his 100 puppets, that only leaves deidara to use his normal C1 and drag the fight a little more until he runs out of chakra or loses, or to blow him self up with sasori wich i dont think will happen since sasori would use his 100 puppets to kill deidara before he can get close to him, and again this is just a scenario that could happen its my own little theory, but in this fight it can go either way i would like to other scenarios that you guys can create :) long live sasori!!!!!...
This is pretty accurate my man, it would definitely be a great battle

This is in response to both your and Fizzy's replies.

Very true about the explosions being quick but essentially some of them far exceed the temperature limit for Iron sand and the remaining heat energy would still reside (conducted by the iron sand) causing it to eventually demagnitize. This would probably only work with explosions like C2 Miniature Dragon or C3 Exploding Statue.

Even then the lower scale bombs can counter the Third Kaze puppet by detaching the chakra strings through the sheer force of the explosions with the remaining bombs exploding directly on the puppet to destroy it.

I'm still wondering one thing, how would Sasori go about countering C3 Exploding Statue ? He has no speed feats meaning he can't escape the sheer blast radius (capable of devastating a village) meaning he'll be entirely reliant on his Iron Sand which would result in the entirety of it to be demagnetized.

Deidara knows Hiding in Mole Technique and can utilize Clay clones meaning he could himself plant the mines and restrict Sasori's movements of his puppet entirely.

Also once Deidara gets into the air getting a single scratch becomes unlikely due to Sasori's sneak attacks being out of range and the ability to let a Clay clone fight on his behalf until Sasori reveals his trump card (Iron Sand World Order or something similar).
