All this changes is the time scale of Lucy and how long we've existed. Lucy still predates this, we'll just have to change the time line. This was likely the in between Homo species given the distinct lack of teeth (no evolutionary advantage at the time) and how long ago it likely existed. This isn't a Homo-Sapien. This is similar to Homo-Sabilis and some of the other species that predate our current species.

Then you should probably read more, because that's ignorant. Lucy wasn't an Ape. Lucy was one of the first in between Homo's in the Genus that eventually became what we are now (Homo-Sapiens). She's likely the first species that branched off from the common ancestor between us and apes. And we do have a common ancestor with apes. It's not your choice to deny that. It's the absolute truth.
