[Discussion] "Prime Whitebeard"?

Wow guys I just reread the War arc and I am impressed by Whitebeards awesome character.
I mean he was already dying far before the war starts and he was still able to mess the marine HQ up. If his crew would not have been in the way he could have destroyed the island in a few blows and even solo Akainu, Kizaru and Kuzan.

It is said that he was equal to Gol D. Roger who was considered the strongest Pirate of his era.
Who do you think would stand a chance against prime Whitebeard of the CURRENT generation/era (is there even one?).

Look at it like this: The strongest current generation character against the strongest character from the past era (Roger/Newgate).


Honestly I think there is only one character who might be able to defeat him - current Blackbeard. Even though the "original" "dart-fruit-only-Teach" would not stand a chance against one of them... Maybe Roger would be able to defeat current Teach because he must had a way to counter Newgates earthquakes.

I agree. But I think Shanks MAY have been able to. But WB xlashed with shanks when he was sick so..I coud be very wrong.

I don't quite understand what you are asking here...
If you mean who currently alive can take on Newgate I think the only person with a chance is Teach, although it would be an extreme diff for him.

No one who we know of that is now alive can take on Prime Whitebeard. Teach will soon surpass him though. Think about it though, WB while old and dying was still the strongest, what kind of a monster was he back in his prime, and how the hell could Roger fight something like that. 1 quake from WB is no cake walk. If Roger and WB fought each other plenty of times that would mean that Roger has been quaked plenty of times. How the hell did he survive?

The pirates that im 100% sure will eventually surpass Whitebeard.

Garp was said to have cornered him on multiple occasions, not that they fought on equal terms. Only one who fought on equal terms with Roger is Whitebeard. I'm pretty sure even Prime Garp was weaker even if the gap wasn't huge

Yeah people think dragon is like a God but maybe he is just dangerous cause he opposes the wg. His hype is crazy high though

Оut of all time, only Roger, could fight with WB on equal grounds. Currently, there is no character that can match prime WB strength, though by the end, BB and Luffy should surpass him.

OT: imo prime Roger, Garp~>WB

for the more current gens: Dragon~>WB, BB will become stronger~ at some point, at least 2 WG/Marine officials will => WB, Shanks~=WB, Kaido, BM and Aokiji aren't far behind

I think too many ppl imagine this huuuuuuuuuuuge gap between Roger and WB (tho according to Roger himself Garp should be there also) and EVERYONE else

every generation has it's top tier

gen 1: Roger, Garp, WB, ...
gen 2: Dragon, Shanks, Kaido ...
gen 3: Luffy, BB, Law, ...

it's not just automatically gen 1 > aEVERYTHING; we get plenty of tha in Pokemon, the top tiers in every generation are comparable

Garp=Roger and Luffy will=Roger so it would make sense for Dragon to be on about Roger's level, ...

or think about it this way

ppl say that Roger and Whitebeard über alles and noone is all that close but:
one day Luffy=Roger and BB will therefore=Roger and so at least on WB/Marine will=Roger
Zoro will always be a high to extreme dif for Luffy and so will at least 1 more since he needs at least one Opponent

so right there you have at least 5 characters above or equal to prime WB and the same more or less goes for any generation so yea you can even find ppl atm who are equal or maybe one or two even stronger than prime WB
