Yea he is, madara barely reacting to him says it all, madara while damaged still blocked naruto's attack, hell if naruto is as fast as guy, madara won't fight effectively as he did against naruto due to his speed, guy is the fastest naruto character then kaguya, his emphasis in speed was made clear by his performance

Madara rose his arm up in response to Gai's Night Moth and gave us an analysis on what was going on. He could react to it and the only reason he failed to block it was due to the force behind his attack. RSM Naruto's attack (which was without Bijuu Mode) had far less force behind it which is why Madara could defend against it, but he reacted to both attacks regardless.
8G Gai's speed is horribly overrated. If people educated themselves, they'd realize that ripping through space fabric itself is due to a combination of speed and the technique itself, not the fact that Gai moves at light-speed. The Databook makes it explicitly clear that Night Moth is the strongest form of Taijutsu and its immense attack power is what enabled Gai to distort the space around him, not being he has god-like speed.
Kaguya's flat out faster because she's the Progenitor of Chakra. She has the Juubi's Chakra which is more potent than Gai's and possesses significantly more chakra than even Madara overall and Chakra is an integral aspect of speed.

If chakra was the case, guy won't be faster than juudara, by no means is naruto faster than guy, guy has other feats of tagging madara, guys base stats is multiplied by a 100, most of his attacks are shown to use the force of speed like morning peacock, so yea in order for one to pull what night guy did, he has to move at relatavistic speeds

Yagai (Night Guy).
Taijutsu, close range, offensive, S-rank.
Users: Maito Guy
Like a young crimson dragon cutting through the space fabric (kūkan), the ultimate flying-kick!
Maito Guy utilizes the taijutsu move, inheritedhis ultimate power from his father - aka “the 8 celestial gates”. To unravel the final dragon mystery you have to open the last ”Death Gate” and be ready to sacrifice your life (poetic, isn't it?TN). From the red stream emission (Guy's blood and chakra. TN), in a form of a red burning chakra the great dragon rises, flying out of the ribcage, an absolutely unprecedented kick that hits the opponent and beats (turns) him into nothing. It's power is off limits, overturns to zero the previous knowledge of anything that taijutsu is capable off, as it twists and bends the sky itself on contact, and even half the body of the strongest ninja, Madara, was completely destroyed.

Naruto can blitz Kaguya (albeit weakened) w/ no reaction. Gai can't do the same to the inferior Madara. It's obvious who's faster here and it's not Gai. :lol
:lol That doesn't contradict the fact Gai physically distorted space.

The staff was bent upon making contact with Gai in the shape of space distortion done by Kamui, and we have Madara's statement (confirmed by VIZ) that Gai distorted space. The databook doesn't contradict the fact, and actually further supports it with literature language:
''It's power is off limits, overturns to zero the previous knowledge of anything that taijutsu is capable off, as it twists and bends the sky itself on contact,''

Gai runs so fast that he bends space, meaning he reaches relativistic speed, meaning he's now extremely close to FTG that the force/power of his attack in addition with his mass nearly killed Madara, whose best resort to defeat him was with the most powerful sealing technique, meaning Hagoromo was well aware of duo's fire-power wouldn't suffice to defeat Madara.
I understand you're a Naruto fan, but he'll never be faster than 8th Gai.

I honestly don't know why you used this statement:"That doesn't contradict the fact Gai physically distorted space," when I never denied it in the first place. What we're arguing here is how Gai distorted space, not if he distorted space, so you don't need to clarify that he did because I know he did. We're arguing something different as I have already mentioned.
Moving on, your argument is pure conjecture. I understand that Gai would logically have to be moving at relativistic speeds to do what he did, but Kishimoto's manga defies physics, so there's absolutely no way you can justify conjecture with pure logic. When the Databook makes no emphasis on its speed and supports that its the strongest taijutsu ever seen through its ability to cut through space fabric, that's enough of an indication that his speed didn't distort space, it was the attack's immense power. All you're telling me is, "He distorted space, therefore, he was moving at relativistic speed." Based on what exactly? Based on pure logic when Kishimoto's manga defies physics? Please, that's not a good enough argument and both the Manga and Databook don't support that.
Does it make sense? No. But is the author's words more valuable than yours? Yes it is and I have no qualms with what the author stated because his manga defies physics to begin with.
P.S. I'm actually not a Naruto fan, so none of this is actually bias.

The manga and databook places emphasis on his technique's speed when he wants to depict it as fast. He didn't place emphasis on Night Moth's speed, so there's no need to assume that Kishimoto wanted to depict it as being at god-like speed. That's honestly all there is to it.

''it was the attack's immense power.'' was not how he bent space. He moved at comparable speed of light to produce immense power, and the result was because of the speed he ran at and not the immense power. So, whatever reason you believe how Gai did it is false.

Oh boy, the defying physics argument is always repeated without critical thinking. Let me make this clear to you: Unless at a particular example the manga defies physics, then other examples where the manga does not defy the physics are still applicable, and for this case, real life logic is applicable because it has not been contradicted by the manga and rather supported.

Madara's staff was distorted upon making contact with Night Guy. Physical objects, especially something as dense as the staff, which tanked air cannons don't distort at such highly detailed shape, so it was a result of space distortion caused by Gai's relativistic speed. The manga supports this notion because it presents it in obvious scans. Reader (you) just needs to analyze the scene reasonably.
Does it make sense? No. But is the author's words more valuable than yours? Yes it is and I have no qualms with what the author stated because his manga defies physics to begin with.
Yeah, sure. Saying Naruto is faster than a character who physically distorted space is actually bias, and by looking at your sig and avatar as well as illogical posts, I can safely assume it's a result of your love to Naruto. Don't let character favouritism misrepresent your conclusion.
People can't be serious. The power that Gai generated was due to his speed. You would have to be a fanboy to say otherwise since any other argument comes off as desperate reaching.
People have some weird idea that Gai performed some sort of black magic when all he did was run towards Madara.

You're still making complete fabrications of the Databook's Entry to justify something that's pure conjecture. The Manga and Databook makes it explicitly clear how Evening Elephant's power produced is highly dependent on its speed whereas the Manga and Databook makes no such statement for Night Moth. There's no reason to over-complicate it at all. Night Moth is naturally the highest level of Taijutsu especially due to the massive amount of chakra released in the shape of a dragon. You're making complete fabrications and you're expecting me to believe them.

You're missing the point. If Kishimoto doesn't care about whether or not his manga defies physics, then an argument based on pure logic without any concrete evidence is just pure speculation. Pure logic isn't enough to support a position unless it's used in conjunction with firm evidence. As of right now, your argumentation isn't supported by the manga or the databook, so I have no reason to believe you.

The Databook gives us a rather simplistic explanation of Night Moth's ability to do so due to its immense attack power and speed was not the integral reason for why that was in contrast to Evening Elephant. If you had analyzed the situation reasonably, you'd have realized that what you're suggesting is impossible for the sole reason that Madara could easily anticipate 8G Gai's speed whilst using Night Moth whereas his much stronger incarnation couldn't even read Sasuke's movements while using Ameno despite it being a light-speed technique. What you're suggesting is rather inconsistent to what's actually shown to the reader and regardless of what you believe, simply relying on "common sense" as the basis of your argument is not an argument, especially in a fictional universe.
Yeah, no you didn't. Kishimoto doesn't care whether or not his manga defies physics, so using pure logic as the basis of your argument is just a means to support your bias and justify pure conjecture. Nothing more, nothing less.

If you had known by my posting history, you'd have known that I've also bashed Naruto in the past. Nice try resorting to personal attacks. That's not how you win an argument.

There is no fabrication. I'm saying what the databook is saying in a informal language. The databook states this in literature language:
''It's power is off limits, overturns to zero the previous knowledge of anything that taijutsu is capable off, as it twists and bends the sky itself on contact, and even half the body of the strongest ninja, Madara, was completely destroyed.''
The sky, obviously referring to the space, is twisted and bent. Space is twisted or bent either at achieving such heavy mass or running at relativistic speed, and Gai did the latter since all he did in the manga/anime was run toward Madara, and the power of his attack was generated from his speed. This is plain factual interpretation of what happened. I'm not expecting you to believe what I say, as it's not my problem what you want to believe. You said something wrong in your post and I addressed it.

Then you forfeit the point for ignoring what happened in the manga was direct physics law, so I accept your concession.

The entry doesn't say space was distorted as result of so-called ''immense power'', so your interpretation is plain false and everything in here was addressed, regardless of whether you want to believe it or not, but that ain't my problem.
@Bold: Madara absorbing the Shinju didn't make him ''much'' stronger or stronger, so this is irrelevant.
@Underlined: Madara never had trouble keeping up with Amenotejikara, and showing me scenes where Madara deliberately lets himself be hit by Sasuke isn't going to make you more correct, since you're either exaggerating, cherry picking certain scans to make you think your point is somehow correct. Madara reacted to Naruto's Shunshin, Kaguya could not; Sasuke failed to blitz Kaguya.
Madara reacting to 8th Gai means Madara is that powerful and doesn't downplay any of Gai's feats.
Yeah, no you didn't. Kishimoto doesn't care whether or not his manga defies physics, so using pure logic as the basis of your argument is just a means to support your bias and justify pure conjecture. Nothing more, nothing less.

clearly different situations. Madara wasn't getting pressured against Sakura, not saying I agree with DemonicAvenger(bcuz I actually don't) but you shouldn't compare the two.
