Had to think about it and TBH i thought it was a troll thread but thought about it. I would say minato bests him him though. There are quite a few. Minato, Ay, 3rd Raikage, Kisame and a couple others

Ay - Well I doubt honestly
3rd Raikage - debatable
Kisame - No (Raiton S rank techique says hi)

-Minato beats him.
-Orochimaru beats him.
-Jiraiya beats him.
-Kakuzu beats him.
-Kisame beats him.

And many more.

Jirayia - Nope, unless you mean SM Jirayia but I count it as "Special power"

I don't know myself how... as we lack any genjutsu feat from him but Kishimoto clearly gives Hiruzen 5 in genjutsu double times. I mean Hiruzen has 5 in Genjutsu category in First and Second Databook. Due to being it stated double times I doubt Kishi was high or trolling

But if you want to know answer then ask Kishi

Well... that was just my guess...

Ok... i checked wiki and it says that Earth release or Fire release techniques used by Hiruzen against Oro... were B-rank

But I have no doubt Prime Hiruzen can pull at least A-rank techniques... maybe even S...but we will see

He was pushed to his limit in oro fight and the best he could do was B rank but he may show some other techs

^^ Well partially true... But I believe that if Old Hiruzen was not forced to use Reaper death seal... then he could shows some more techniques. It would be more legit battle for feats if it was just Oro vs Hiruzen one on one with no Edo Tensei involved.

Hey man great thread. I like the point you made about why he is considered The God of Shinobi. People fail to realize how versatile his skills are, and thats what makes him so great. Whats even better is that he doesn't have a sharingan to copy everything! The Sarutobi clan must be a really well rounded clan. Makes me wonder how closely they are related to the Senju... In terms of skill...

It makes sense to say that he HAD to use it since there was no other logical way for him to win or he would have done so without using a last resort tech

Yes and I don't deny it, but as I said Edo Tensei was key factor which is reason why this battle went this way and not other.
Without Edo Tensei the battle would be more leggit and feats would be better that what I am sure. Besides Kishi would have not execuse to not show full potential of Hiruzen... but thanks to using Edo Tensei trick he left himself room for speculation and discussion as we know noone of elemental techniques would affect Edo Tensei in the end.
