And of course if he let that happen then Muu (?) would possibly be defeated and he would regenerate into Gaara's sand pyramid seal. The smoke that rose from his hands was only there to show the reader that indeed the rasenshuriken is powerful. Also he managed to use preta to absorb the tree. What is the energy/chakra contained within the rasenshuriken to that of the Tree? Nothing. Thus there is no limit to the quantity of chakra preta can absorb​
