I've been thinking for a long time about rewriting my DE fanfiction in it's own universe, separate from the Naruto universe, thus making it more like my own story than a fanfiction... I've not written anything decent in a long time, but I kinda had fun writing this, despite with how short it was... I'd like some feedback, even though there's not much to it. Should I even bother writing more?

The dim morning sun caused a strange effect on the insides of the chamber as its light streamed through the stained glass windows. Torches scattered across the walls of the mammoth room helped provide natural light, so that the room was well lit for the four men sitting in the middle, surrounding a strange basin of white marble.
The surface of the clear liquid inside the basin rippled gently, and a boy could be seen inside, as if the liquid were a window to some place far away.
“So, is that him?” asked a one of the men, a dark skinned man dressed in dark purple garment. Whether he was bald or had a shaven head couldn’t be told, but his physique was by far the greatest of all the men present. He towered over the second tallest man by a head, and his muscles could be seen from underneath his open vest.
“Indeed it is. Our plan has been simmering under the surface for countless years now… And this boy is the only piece that could ruin us, make our endgame strategy useless. He has great potential, as all pawns do, but he is one that we cannot afford to let live. The less death that comes about in the pursuit of our goal, the better. If he could be the only casualty…” The man speaking this was cloaked in shadow – he seemed to have found the one point in the room that the shadows would conceal his face, concealing his identity. From the aura surrounding him, he radiated the feeling of the one in charge.
“It’s a shame…He can’t be more than thirteen or fourteen years old. Why does he have to be a child?” This man seemed to be rather unremarkable compared to the others in the room – long brown hair tied back, and light blue eyes. The question seemed addressed to the man in the shadows.
“Fate is cruel, but for whatever reason, it chose this boy… He reminds me of you, actually. He looks like you,” said the shadowed man to the brown haired man. “Nathaniel,” he said to the dark-skinned man, “the boy is in your district. Eliminate him. We are adjourned.”
With this, the other three men left the room, leaving Nathaniel to watch the basin, observing the boy on the other side…
