Hmmm... Cool matchup, but I definitely give it to Vista. He is the only we've seen who's been able to clash with Mihawk and not be completely fodderized. Plus, he was one of WB's commanders, which also should give him some credit.

Yeah, it's hard to believe that Vista could possibly counter such an attack. He's got Haki, but is it better than Vergo's?
Seems unlikely, given that the latter was able to coat his entire body and weapon with it.

Yeah, that's true. But I think a lot of that has to do with his DF. The feat stands nonetheless, but it seems like because of his DF, he can cut things easier. But I don't think any of the Supernovas are at Marco, Jozu or Vista's level yet.

Edit: Actually, when I think about it, Law might be able to defeat him.

I just said it mainly because I wanted a discussion starting, since based on your first post you said Vista without considering law's swordsmenship. I still think Vista is better, like is the 4th division of WB pirates plus I THINK he cut through Akainu with haki? I am not so sure.

He failed to wound Akainu even with Haki... ~_~

Not enough feats from Vista but he's still up there with the likes of Jozu and Doflamingo. Vista takes this.
That's not an acceptable argument, what is Vista's counter to the attack posted?
If he has not demonstrated any such counter, do not assume that he can counter such an attack.

He's a NW WB commander veteran(20 years or so iirc), so he's haki is greater than Law's. Like I said though, he does not have enough feats, but by power scaling he's above Law.

Power scaling? Age has no correlation to the level of Haki a person has. By feats, Law is clearly going to win.

The fact remains that Vista attacked Akainu with Marco's assistance and couldn't even wound him.

On the other hand, we've seen Law cut through a VA who was completely imbued in Busoshoku Haki.
And... then that was immediately followed up with the sectioning of a factory and several mount peaks.
Keep in mind, Vergo's Haki was acknowledged by Caesar, Doflamingo, and Sanji as being of high caliber.

Yes, it does. Rayleigh said it takes atleast 2 years to get the basics done. Vista has been a WB commander for over 20. So what if they didn't hurt Akainu? He's an admiral and his haki way above the likes of Vergo. The World's Strongest Man failed to hurt Aokiji one of the strongest people of WG's forces. Power scaling puts Vista above Law who only has the basics of haki down so far.

How is Law's slicing through a VA (who's had Haki for a while, given he beat Law awhile back) coated in Busoshoku Haki...
followed by a factory, and then subsequently several mountain peaks basic?

Are you just disregarding the fact that Law clearly was incorporating his OP powers into such an attack.
If you think Vista is going to tank a combination of solid Haki combined with the Ope Ope no Mi... that's ludicrous.

The fact that Law managed to beat a more "experienced" Haki user disproves your ludicrous notion of age being relevant.

When debating, go by manga feats and not baseless notions.

Besides tbh Jozu and Vista are literally close to admiral level when it comes to power. We've seen them compete with admirals, even though Jozu got owned by Aokiji but I'm sure law won't even last long. Plus we've seen Vista fight off mihawk better than anyone else in the series.

I guess Law could solo Kaidou and Big Mom since they don't have any feats, right? No of course not. That's where power scaling comes in since these characters don't have any feats. Vista is amongst the 3 strongest WB commanders alongside Marco and Jozu. These guys were competing with the admirals whilst Vista was fighting against the WSS who was cutting half sided mountain glaciers just by a swing of his sword. WSS who acknowledge Vista's strength and told him to stop the fight. Power scaling and hype puts Vista above Law.

Well first off... as you've admitted, Vista was completely outclassed by Akainu, an admiral.
Now, we know that the title of Yonko means that they are strong enough to balance out both the Admirals and Shichibukai.
Also, we know nothing about what Big Mom and Kaido can do, as opposed to knowing where Vista stands.
We have clearly seen his capacity in both swordsmanship and Haki, yes?
The fact that Vista did not coat his swords in Haki so far, means that Vergo has demonstrated more skill.
Frankly, the commanders were hardly doing anything to the admirals. The second they slipped up, they got screwed over.

This is really quite simple, is a swordsman really a good matchup for Law?

Knowing that he only uses swords and decent Haki... what is he going to do against Law's attack?
Going further, what happens if Law chooses to use Scan to take away his swords?

Forgive me though... this is bound to go in circles.
I just don't feel as though a his status, when compared to the Yonko, Admirals, and half of the Shichibukai warrants much.

Outclassed? Well, by that logic I guess Aokiji outclassed WB since his haki was stronger than WB's at that time. Doflamingo, Jozu, Vista are in the same tier. Luffy, Law, Smoker are in the same tier. We all saw what DD did to Smoker. We haven't seen anything from Vista besides his little fight against a top tier Mihawk who asked him to stop their fight. So because of lack of feats we need to power scale and that puts Vista above Law. The admirals were hardly doing anything against the commanders either, until the commanders weren't paying attention and got owned. How do you think someone like Garp could compete against someone like Shiki who has an OP fruit like Law? Why do you think Law couldn't take Smoker's jutte or Vergo's bamboo stick? Like I said, Vista barely has any feats so Law only takes this because of that. But Vista takes this because of power scaling and hype.

You are aware that Shiki fought both Garp and Sengoku? Two clearly admiral level people...

With that being said, if this is going revolve purely around hype, I no longer have any interest in this.

Well, yeah. Shiki's DF is OP and could easily destroy the MF. Garp who doesn't have a DF most likely is a rokushiki expert.

It's a good topic. But yeah, I'm going back to Vista. He just has more experience. We didn't get to see that much from him, so he has without a doubt more moves.

He could dodge it...? The only reason Law cut Vergo was because Vergo thought he could tank it. If he knew Law's current level, he wouldn't have let him just cut him.
