THEORY: Power That Has Potential To Destroy The World

Everything starts with a Legend:

Once every few centuries a mermaid is born with the ability to speak to the Sea Kings, on that day the world will change forever. Then one day a man will appear to guide that mermaid to her destiny.

What we know about The Story So Far:
1. Shirahoshi has this ability to communicate with Sea-Kings.
2. Its been more than hundred years since there was a queen with this power.
3. The sea kings called Shirahoshi their queen.
4. Joy Boy left the ship in the care of lord Neptune to take care of it till the time comes.
5. The sea kings drag the Noah by the chains (designated drivers).
6. Existence of Tamatebako which can shrink sizes.
7. Arrival of Luffy just at the time of civil war.

Looking back into the History - A Theory
The differenctiation is similar as there exist Gaints similar to humans and Sea Kings similar to Fishmen. Within the calm belt there might be the remenance of the Kingdom of Sea Kings probably somewhere in the new world. This kingdom is ruled by Mermaid Queen who though being born as a mermaid has the ability to communicate and control the species. An unknown history about the Sea-Kings past might be revealed and my guess is that the old Queen of sea kings might have belonged to Void Century.

Two possible Conclusions To End The Fishman Arc:

Conclusion 1: Mermaid Princess to Luffy's Crew. (COMPLEX)
Shirahoshi possess the power to comminucate with the Sea Kings who inturn address her as their Queen. We know that Shirahoshi hasn't matured yet but she still is one heck of a strong willed person (her resolved silence knowing the name of assassin who killed her mother and forgiving him for it proves this). But she might need enough experience to rule over a kingdom and that too a kingdom of Sea Kings. This power has the capability to overturn the tides and Shirahoshi definitely needs some external guidance to build herself up to become a true Queen. This experience and her dream to see the world may go hand in hand to get herself tied up with the strawhat crew and understand the world through experience. This falls in accordance with the second part of the legend which makes me think that Luffy will be the one to guide Shirahoshi to her destiny. And based on this, I can conclude that Luffy wanting to become a Pirate King will take Shirahoshi under his wing and make her understand and experience the world.

NOAH & SEA KINGS ROLE: There is also a possibility for Sea Kings to accept Luffy's power to hear the Voice of all things and consider that the time has come for them to go according to their elders wishes (unknown now). Understanding that Shirahoshi needs help, they might let him take care of her or even follow them underwater. But I do not understand as to what would happen to Noah. But I guess, it will be Franky who will repair Noah. I believe that in the past when Joy Boy left the ship under Neptune's care, he must be also possess the power to communicate with the Sea Kings/ the power to hear the voice of all things. This is in relation with the existence of a sorry letter in the form of Poneglyph which must be left behind (thinking its written by Joy Boy).


Conclusion 2: Mermaid Princess to Queen of Sea Kings. (SIMPLE)

The Sea Kings have their queen. Shirahoshi gets to understand her powers through experience. She might be trained by her father and brothers to become and excellent queen. Once she has grown into a capable Queen, she might board Noah and travel with her kind to the Kingdom of Sea Kings somwhere in the Calm belt (and probably on the side of New World) where the fishmen and Sea Kings live together under the governance of Shirahoshi. At the end of One Piece when a possible world war breaks out involving Luffy and World Government, Shirahoshi would re-surface again and prove to be an ally to Luffy in overturning the Tides of the World. That may be the reason behind the Power that has potential to destroy the world.


My Thoughts: I strongly feel that we will be knowing more of void century and how the Sea-Kings, Giants, Mermaids, humans and other species came into play. There exists a possibility of war for power, must have been waged over the "POWER TO RULE" between these races. And humans with their knowledge might have attained power over all other species.

I think I have given sufficient explanation as to what makes me feel she has to join the Crew. If its logic you want, your holding about the world government and fishmen island is not correct.

The ties between fishmen and world government has never been on good terms. Its only a pact that was made to keep the fishmen from being hunted. Going two years back in the Sabaody Arc, what do you think made Luffy hit the tenryuubito?

I do not think that World Government and Fishmen are in speaking terms now.
There was far more injustice prevailing in human world towards the fishmen even after the Pact.

1. Fishmen consider Jinbe as BOSS and did-not banish him (it was Jinbe who lived away from them) even though world government is after him for the past two years.
2. The island used to be under the care of Whitebeard before the war, which means that World Government wouldn't want to interfere as they would be facing the wrath of WB (that was before the war).
3. Now the island is being looked over by Big Mam, another Yonka, and I do not think World government want to face wrath of another Yonka.

There was violence all over written in the history. The "world will change" has an imminent meaning of the change the fishman will face and I consider that they being at "Level Zero" may not look towards world government anymore to be accepted. They may realize the value of few good humans and act likewise.

LoL!! I agree too. She cries too much and might more be a hindrance!!! But consider this, when Usopp joined, I consider him to be a too much of a Liar. But that didn't stop him from joining. Its more of his dream to become "The brave warrior of the sea" that made him the nakama. I only felt that Shirahoshi had it in her to be able to join the crew(her dream to explore and learn from the world). That would also satisfy the legend that was intended for her and luffy being the guide.

Taking away the legend, I wouldn't even have considered for once of her to be joining the crew (apart from her resolve). I only find the thought of her joining intimidating and completing the Legend. The second conclusion might be more Logical but that wouldn't satisfy the "Legend" too?!!!!

Good Relations exist only with an unbreakable trust between both the parties. Do you think such a thing would exist between fishmen and world government? I for one believe that fishmen may extend their trust on luffy's actions but human kind still is far away from accepting the fishmen as an equal. For this to happen, it will take another arc and probably Jinbe will be the one to make humans understand it.

There is always a bad leaf in a good family. None is perfect. If the fishmen can forgive the disdainful acts of humans towards them from what we know of their past, doesn't it act like a vice-versa where the world government should forgive the few fishmen who created atrocities towards man-kind and let the other fishmen be free?

Simply saying!! I think, if fishmen and humans co-exist then regardless of how big the guy from either of the party is, he and only he alone should be subjected to justice for his crimes but not all of his clan as it is mistake of only one person!!! That's what true justice means.

Oh yeah!! There was something that I read about shrinking sizes!!! If that doesn't exist, then I do not see how this will work. Anyway, it was worth having a person carrying such a power in the crew!!! Now I am confused too as to if that would work??

Doubts it. When has Luffy Taken No for an answer? And dont say Vivi Cuz She is an Honorary StrawHat. And Bon-Chan is as well if I remember correctly.

Wishes the two of them could really join. That would be perfect.

Its more likely that they BOTH would join than just one or the other.

Who said she was going to be Queen of FI? She has not one, not two, but three older brothers that are heir to the throne. This has already been stated in the manga.

I was going to post this. Thank you.

However I will say that if the box does get used on Shirahoshi, then she will get old enough that she will obtain legs to walk on the land. It won't be such a drastic difference, but maybe her hair will turn a nice silvery gray color. Then she could join the Straw Hats and Luffy could help her harness her ability.
