Personally I don't like this test based on the fact that it is not so much the quantity of words that you know rather than the quality. It takes a lot of articulate a thesis at a Masters/PHD level but they may even know less words than a 25 year old who has traveled NA/Europe. & girls being 2k below guys is just silly, they actually talk more and normally have larger vocabularies (not to mention females pick up language faster than males on average)

To anyone here that's going to comment or reply back (No offence to anyone): I can see we have some experts in fallacious reasoning on NB but I was one of the best in logics & philosophy lessons so don’t underestimate my sharpness!
Why some are trying their best to find flaws in my thread & that test?!:sy:For God’s sake I just said share your results with me! :| (A bunch of opinions is accepted too but please no off-topics comments! Meaning: It has to do something with both me & the thread at the same time!)
Also…if you have any suggestions for improving the test please share some of your useful ideas with that site!

Really!!...it pisses me off when seeing some comments U_U but I have an explanation for each of your replies! I’m not the designer of that test nor I’m in charge of it & I didn’t say the test is perfect, did I?!:sy:

:rofl: I don't think you understand. There's something like 171,000 words in the English language that Oxford has recorded, I think 40,000 of those are obsolete or don't really count. This test stops at 45,000...that by itself is a fail. They're assuming that one person can't know more than 45,000 words when I'm quite sure that there are probably lots of people who know most of the words in the English language because they've been studying all their lives.

Most of the words in the test are difficult, there are only a few at the beginning that are officially easy. Whoever put this test together thinks that a good vocabulary is based on how many strange and unusual words one knows. That is not true in any way, just because someone doesn't know a bunch of difficult words doesn't mean that they don't know 45,000 words. Also, for a writer such as myself, it is not the size of the vocabulary itself that counts, but how you use it.

Again Ok!:sy:What do you suggest then?! :shrug: I put the TOEFL or IELTS test for testing your English! :| If not, you know any better tests, just name it here!
I myself believe no test can measure a person’s true potential! So sorry if that test is not capable of measuring your English vocabulary!
& yes we have some exceptions too! U_U But really you must be something to know more than 45,000! (45,000 out of 171,000 isn’t obsolete & counts!!-No one till now has got that result here) If you know someone that has been studying English all their lives invite them to that test! I would love to see their results too!

I also appreciate your last line! & yes maybe most are difficult but the definition “difficulty” is based on people’s ideas! Some may even show up & say "That was nothing"! :| If you practice, things will get easier for you!

Lol that’s a lot! & me…I took the test a long time ago! (I don’t exactly remember the number now!) I wanted to take it again cause you know, the result may change considering the fact that I might have forgotten the meaning of some words! I may edit my root post for it but I have to be in a good mood first! I’m too sensitive!

O my…! Not with these again!:sy:I talked to him over it a long time ago! It’s settled now! I guess you didn’t read my previous reply backs to him! -___- We had a conversation in my profile too & he confessed he doesn’t know a better one for this cause he’s not into this stuff & he doesn’t care!
& about the quality & quantity matters here, it’s not always like he said, you know! ^_^ Quality comes for the times when you want write or speak in English & he’s a writer so that’s why he said that! :y
