(Possible Spoilers) How Titans reproduce?

Something that's really been bothering me, and everyone else who keeps up with this series, is where do Titans come from and how are their so many? They don't have means of reproduction.. That we know of.

The only thing we do know is that they consume humans and humans only. When they eat too much, they throw up. And that regurgitation looks crystal like, almost like an undeveloped egg..

Their drive is too eat humans.

During a mission recently, a man commented on how a Titan resembled his mother. its just another hint that titans derive from humans

My theory is simple. Titans method of reproducing is when they eat so many humans that they regurgitate them. That regulation, crystal stuff eventually hatches into a Titan. It explains why they're so large for one. And it explains the size differences as Titans have been shown to react differently to similar stimuli.

So the purpose of their digestive system isn't to digest, but to merge the DNA of people together.

I could be very wrong, but their desire for humans has to have some reason. That reason being reproduction!

OT: Nice theory, I support it. It's plausible based on the info we know so far.

This is possible. Maybe Titans are good and just want Humans to turn to titans so they don't need to suffer in a weak body.

And the female titan gets fat ..5 days later baby titan pops from the mother titan's belly button .

Considering their is no science from reproduction by mass cannibalism... It should be obvious.


OT: I'd say it's fairly plausible! Especially since its been noted that humanity seemingly burns those patches. Though, at the same time, I'm guessing that may be only one simple way to do so.


Going to Connie's village, it's obvious the Titans all came from that village. It's also notable that there were huge numbers of them. My guess is there's some formula/syrim/drug that can be eaten/injected into a well*that could possibly give off the same effect. Aside from Connie's home, there are two other places that support the idea.

1. The Ape Titan mentions mankind is aware of what's in the nape of the neck (humans).

2. Ymir was able to read the labeling on the canned food where Reiner couldn't.

Now number 2 could simply have hinted that Ymir was old enough to have existed with a previous writing system, but also it could imply that food sources from the past may have been tampered with.

The key is the Ape one. He mentions the neck comment meaning every titan seemingly has a human in it. Something that explains why Annie mercy killed Bean and Sonney. So with that I'd can make the idea of yours hard to go on (not that mine is any better). The one thing I may go with is possibly in the shell vomit, a select person becomes the dominant will resulting in adherents (possibly someone who was swallowed whole). Possibly no dominant personality results in a dumb titan with a random human body host (or simply a random assembly of human parts).




You have a pretty great theory. Though it's hard to explain how each one gets a specific personality.

I doubted , I think he villages outside the walls were able to transform into Titans just like what happened to Ymir , just like what Connie noticed in his village , this has to be some type of disease .
