Possible major plot hole?

So is this plothole or perhaps the pain's couldn't use the elements

The 6 paths tech might only allow the one power per path to be used even obitos jink paths didn't use ninjutsu unless it was something related to there bijuu. Plus nagato was arrogant probably didn't think they would be of use when he seemingly had never needed anything other then his paths. (inb4 as if hes a real person who can think)

See, i think you're seriously mistaken, why cuz perfecting an art is not a kekkei genkai, if so sharingan for kakashi would be called as kekkei genkai for him from your point but its not, and why nagato didn't used it against naruto i think he had rinnegan so besides using basic elements it would be great for him to use sages jutsu, don't you see the point

The Peins could only use specific powers, with the exception of Deva Path. Being crippled hindered Nagato from being able to use them, and Kabuto's ignorance to his powers and only being knowledgeable on what his Rinnegan techs were couldn't make him use them when he tool control of him.

As for making them Kekkei Genkai, it's not that simple. Just having more than element doesn't enable you to do KG, hence why Kakashi has none despite having three elements. You need a genetic predisposition to use certain Kekkei Genkai, as it means Bloodline Trait/limit.

Just because you can use all 5 seperately DOES NOT mean you can use them combined. If that were the case Nagato and Hiruzen would have omnyoudon or w/e its called

The Paths of Pain probably aren't suited for complicated jutsu like elemental ones, where you have to change the chakra type. Recall nagato would have to send chakra to them, and then alter it.

Its not a plot hole. There is nothing about it that contradicts the mangas plot.

However, it is a good question, to ask kishi.

I would guess the paths cant use elemental techniques. And Even if they could, he doesnt need nor want to use them, since he already has more powerful rinnegan techniques.

The Avatar in the last airbender, preferred to air and water bend. He could still use the other elements though. It was just his choice.


So one can know many techniques. It doesnt mean they will use them though.

Well he used three in that fight doton futon and suiton.. now if kishi allowed nagato to use the combo of the more then 4 elements then naruto would have been soloed with ease. that is why kishi hold him back
