[Question] Portgas

Is the word Portgas an animal in any language anyone knows? I ask because the other D. family we know about is Jaguar. I thought it was a little coincidental 2 family's with D. are named for animals. Gol D. roger could be Gull though it might be a stretch though there is a good theory about the significance of Seagulls in OP it's here somewhere I don't remember where though. Anyway do you think all the D. families have animal surnames or are Monkey and Jaguar families maybe related or is there no connection?

is actually two words and is combined into one when it became romanized becoming
Pōtogasu Dī Ēsu

Which isnt an animal reference at all.
