Arriving from Here.

Making seemingly good time, Chise ventured further along the coast in the familiar path that she had traveled before, carrying her nearer to the Armory of Marzan, where she aimed to deliver the ingredients that had been asked of her from Marzan.

Coming from [x]

She would return to familiar landcapes after leaving the unknown ones behind her. Ah, the Port of Innovus.. She was basically a citizen at this point having spent equal if not even more time here to that of Dainashi. She would walk down to the docks and stare down towards the Kaizoku Sea. Dwelling here she would, until answers would wash up on the shore.. One shape or the other.

(Alucard) Coming from [x]

You must be registered for see medias

With his bone wings disintigrating as he glided through the sky, Alucard landed in the Port of Innovus where Lilith was waiting. She was standing by the docks with her coat on and looked towards her father descending from heaven like a fallen angel.

..Could it be? Otosan?!
Lilith would immediately meet up with Alucard in the air preventing him from crashing into the dock. Her strength was that of a hundred after all as she was a master of Yin/Yang as he was, letting her catch him with ease with her arms wrapped around his waist. He was completely exhausted but fully conscious and tapped on her back indicating for her to let him go but she didn't want to, instead she gripped him so hard he was about to have his torso and legs separated. They were still about 50 meters up in the air when he started to feel her shivering.

I see you've grown up huh, you're strong as a bijuu almost.
A shudded crackle spread across Liliths face as she started to loosen up her grip around Alucard.

Can you fly dad?

I don't mind you carrying me for a while my child, we have a long journey ahead of us.

I gotchu dad, don't worry anoo.. Where are we going?

Sanctuary.

Lilith and Alucard would united leave the landmark and head out.

Arriving from Here.

Chise, with her new God Slaying Tool in hand, makes for the newly explored regions of the Outer Lands. There, she had heard tell of a region known as Sanctuary, where the recently discovered and honed Atavistic Flames had manifested and was made into a means of enhancing ones tool after it has been forged by Marzan himself. With this destination in mind, Chise planned to take full advantage of her absence to the best she could, making for her destination with as much haste as she could.

Starting these missions;
  • Explore an abandoned site
  • Defend yourself from wild beasts

Amaimon was slowly regaining his strength. It had been a long sleep, alot of Greywalking, and the things that he had missed while out, had been immense. He hadn’t spoken with many on the ship, and prefered not to. All he had to do, was to fuse with Amidamaru, his Genki. A single infusion, would allow him to understand everything that had happened so far, but he wasn’t quite ready yet.

The ship anchored outside of the port itself. Amaimon with a few other passengers was rowed to the shore, and the sailor himself, returned to the ship, along with the rowing boat. Amaimon stood still, while the remaning passangers took their leave - Some in the same direction, others in their own.

”You told me, the world have changed. Are you sure this is the place?” Amaimon questioned his Genki for affirmation. Amidamaru nodded in the way he could. “Yes, Amai-dono. Yes, divine beings have come to the land, the earthern lands have ruptured, and you’re in need of equipping yourself of something useful - And this is only the half of it.” The otherwise cheerful spirit, seemed worried. “You’ve done your ressearch well, for that I thank you.” Amaimon gestured a slight, almost unnoticeable bow. The two adjusted their gaze into the ruined area of the Port.

”I can sense several spirits, aside from the other passengers. I also sense someone, ‘neath the ground. He should be able to find an entrance somewhere - I would like handle this without assistance Amida” Amaimon gave the spirit a glance of seriouness. He wanted to de-rust. Many a things would’ve been easier with but the help of his stronger capabilities, or the Genki.

He strode from the shore into what once was a pavement or path it would seem. Patches of grass, vines and roots had almost overtaken it. It was rather hazardous to traverse it, and the strides would be slow, and careful. He witnessed old buildnings, covered in moss, some where the roof had fallen apart, and laid waste to the inside of that buildning. Another, the door was broken, and hanging by only a hinge. He thought he something, but alas, his sensing wasn’t tickling, if so to speak.

It did however peak his interest. Nearing the opening, he climbed to stone slabs which made the path up to the door. Amaimon would slightly touch the door, before the hinge broke off rust, and the door fell and made a thud noise. Birds would chirp and flutter, and the nearby area. He stood still, as everything went silent. The silence was only broken every once and then by birds chirping away, or the wind rustling through some of the crowned trees.

The place itself, was otherwise quite open, but alas he was also in what could’ve been middle of the port.

Inside the buildning, Amaimon would uncover furniture that was several wornout, and some damaged by moist and humidity. The buildning was accustomed with two rooms aside of the main room. In the main room a fireplace stood dormant, aside it, a chest. Peaked with interest, Amaimon would open it, but as expected, it was empty.

He couldn’t quite understand why this place was left, but as so many others, they surely had a good reason. He hestiated from questioning roaming Genki - They surely could tell him all he needed - But he was still not mentally ready - Unless pushed.

Searching the remaining two rooms which could’ve been a bedroom of sorts, and a pantnry, he decided to leave the ruined house. It was noon, and he felt he had to hurry. He also felt the pressence of three entities closing in on his position. Their spiritual energy felt weak however, and should pose no threat - But they would’ve to be dealt with nonetheless.

He would proceed his walk, as he was awaiting the entities final approach. He entered and open clearing. It seemed almost perfectly circular, with what could’ve been an old fountain in the middle. It was however dried entirely - Or what remained, could only have been rain water. The stone structure was moss covered, and ivy was crawling up, what would’ve been a possible statuette of sorts.

”Grrwwwl” He heard snarling growls behind him. He would pivot on his feet, and would be facing a set of wolves. A small pack. Their faces were fierce and their eyes intimidating. “Well, well.” Amaimon murmured to himself as himself as he entered a combat stance, equipped with a kunai.

He waited for the wolves to make their move. Their staring contest was long, but it felt only like mere seconds - And soon they had him encircled. What seemed like the alpha - Gray fur, bigger than the others, located infront of him - Made the first move. A direct dash at the Katsuryoku. Amaimon would avoid by dashing out of the way, only to be tackled from behind. The Katsuryoku would be flung across the ground, but would push himself back on his feet almost immediately.

As they made their second charge, Amaimon would fling the kunai in his hand at the closet, whilst grabbing the Fuma Shuriken from his back with the other.

The kunai would force the wolf to evade, while he would use the Fuma Shuriken, still folded, to fend off the Alpha, sending it flying past him. The third, he would pierce the Fuma through its stomach. Without hesitation he would let go of the Fuma shuriken and turn to his foes.

It was down to two, the alpha and his second hand wolf. The Alpha would make another charge, followed by its companion. Jumping at Amaimon, the Katsuryoku managed to place both palms along the abdomen of the alpha, and throw it past him as he avoided the snapping of its jaws. The second would dash past, while delivering a clawing blow across Amaimon’s leg. “Urgh” He exclaim. “Amai-dono!” The spirit was spooked - Had his master grown this weak?!

”Phew, what a hassle. Well, well.” He would eye to two. What would be the wolfs final dash, it jumped directly at Amaimon once more. Dropping on his back, the wolf would pass straight over him. Equipped with one of his remaining kunais, double-gripped, it would slice along the stomach of the wolf’s abdomen. The blood gashed from the abdomen of the wolf, and it shriek and fall silent on the moss covered stone pavement.

Sitting back up, covered in the blood of the the wolf, Amaimon would witness the third wolf running off. “Oi, oi..” It was just getting chaotic, he thought by himself. Before standing up, he would run his palm along his wound, only to heal it completely.

Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short
Chakra: N/A (2x the amount of damage healed, 200 max) 20
Damage: N/A
Description: This medical ninjutsu allows the user to speed up the body's natural healing process by focusing chakra onto their hands, forming an aura of greenish chakra which he then sends into a wound or afflicted body part. This allows the user to heal a patient without the need for medical equipment or surgery, making it very useful on the battlefield. It can be used to treat both external and internal injuries. It is vital to match the amount of chakra used to the severity of the affliction or injury. This requires a great amount of chakra control. Because of this, only a few highly skilled medical-nin are able to use this technique. The limitation of the technique is that it cannot regrow missing body parts or remove with poisons or toxins, though it can heal damage by them. Additionally, perhaps its more severe drawback is the chakra cost, which is much higher than any other medical technique. For each damage point the user of the technique wishes to heal, he needs to spend twice as much chakra. Basically, for x amount of damage the user needs to spend 2x amount of chakra to repair/heal. The user can also use this technique on himself and it can be used with one hand or two and even in two targets at a time or while using another technique with the other hand. The speed of the healing is fast but not instant.
Note: Can be used on up to 2 targets.
Note: Can only be used by Medical Ninja.

”Right..” The Katsuryoku followed, by standing upright. He removed the most grotesque parts that was covering him, before he would stride towards a bigger tower further in the port. The remaining off the unravelling of this port, would be a bickering back and forth between him and the spirit, about him having grown weak, or why he wouldn’t just finish them with a swoop of his hand, or even less, actually.

He searched the tower without luck, another buildning what could’ve been a butcher, a third, which could’ve been a library of sorts. But he would’ve doubted that - Libraries are not so common, he would think. Atleast never as complete as the one in Chungsu. But he did manage to find a book - Book might be exaggerating - But a scroll describing the Marzan, that he was seeking. Not long after, he would find what seemed like a secret entrance within the port. He soon pushed aside some vines, which prove fruitful he soon descended into what would be the armoury, long forgotten - Even though it seemed to have been visited quite often nowadays, clear footprints, visible cobwebs broken, was evident.

Coming from #259, Kaizoku Sea

Despite remaining at a fairly safe height given the rumors as he approached the port Emiya's clone could already tell how bad it truly was. It wasn't that the port had simply been destroyed. It was in a sorry state long before any Beast went on a rampage there. No. Buildings could be rebuilt. Walls could be fortified once more. But this? This... This was something else entirely. Homes completely engulfed in crimson muck, submerged and beyond repair or approach. The waters of the port stood still, completely and utterly corrupted, becoming a hardened basin of tainted corrupting slop, nourishing the new life that flourished in this decaying wasteland. As he neared the ground Emiya was bombarded with the smell of rot and filth, not even able to discern where the firm ground truly was beneath all of the rotten muck. He was assailed by insects and unknown forms of life, swarming this new visitor to their rotten, wonderful paradise. Fresh meat to be corrupted, twisted, and turned into their newest kin...

Emiya allowed the chariot to disperse, returning to the Throne as he wreathed himself in a thin cloak of Prana which had been partially solidified, cloaking him in a tangible layer which exuded raw Prana. It wasn't a perfect solution, but it allowed him to traverse through the rotted wastes unimpeded as the raw Prana instantly and automatically sent the Scarlet Rot he made contact with to the Throne, while the solid portion kept him from making contact directly. he knew the dangers of interacting with unknown crimson substances after all. He wouldn't even be able to attempt to clear it with an application this weak, but for the moment Emiya was only focussed on finding the Forge, and more specifically the smith that was hopefully holed up inside of it. Attempting to cleanse the wastes would regrettably have to wait.

(Kanki: Kigen no Kamigami) – Surge of Evocation: Era of Gods
Type: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary
Rank: D – S
Range: Short – Long
Chakra Cost: 10 – 40
Damage Points: 20 - 80 (to non-Surgebinders)
Description: This technique encompasses the basic applications of the Surge of Evocation. The Surge of Evocation is the usage of Prana in its raw and unrefined form; whatever this Prana touches is transformed into ethereal energy and transported to the Throne. Prana will neutralize and be neutralized by techniques that possess the same amount of chakra. Similarly it will be useless against attacks of greater chakra and will not be weakened by techniques of lower chakra. However when used on living targets this ambient energy will feel extremely frigid to the touch and induce cold burns on contact or even freeze a target solid for higher ranked applications. D to B-Rank uses will inflict cold burns as well as all of the effects of frostbite. A-Rank uses will cause necrosis of the afflicted parts of the body, making them appear dark purple and bruised to signify the death of cells. Affected appendages and organs will cease to function, becoming completely immobile in the case of limbs. S rank uses will freeze the struck targets solid. In the case of Surgebinders, who are immune to all of the above effects, they will be transported to the Throne when struck by the prana of another member of their clan. Era of Gods can be split into three separate applications, all based on the same principle: constructs, armors, and familiars made of prana energy.

Pride of Gilgamesh – Gates of Babylon
The Pride of Gilgamesh allows the user to produce Prana either from the user’s body or on the battlefield. The Prana can only be manifested within short-range of the opponent if the user is also within that range, in which it must be created a minimum of one meter away. This restriction does not apply if the user chooses to release the Prana from their body, rather than manifest it away from themselves. The energy can be released from the body via various hand signs depending on the user's rank in the clan. This can be done to generate constructs bound only by the rank of technique used and one’s imagination; alternatively the user can simplify the application by creating streams, waves, and constructs of Prana. Manifested Prana is capable of taking solid form, granting tangibility at the user’s volition. Non-projectile uses of this technique are capable of levitating and can be governed through mental commands and a sustained chakra cost. B-Ranks and below are sustained through 5 chakra per turn, A-Ranks and above require 10 chakra per turn. A-Rank and S-Rank constructs will last three turns per usage unless they are prematurely cancelled. S-Rank applications can only be used once every two turns and no Prana above A-Rank in the turn after the deactivation of an S-Rank application.

Embrace of Ishtar – Armory of Akkadia
This variant allows the user to manifest armors, auras, and coatings of Prana around their body. This can be used to enshroud a single or multiple body parts in a layer of colored energy. These defenses can be made to fit the body like conventional armors or enveloping it in a formless manner. The first type can be created with additional limbs and appendages such as wings which enable flight. The user can also constantly reshape it and create small-scale weapons from the body of the armor, though at the cost of one of the user's three moves. It should be noted that these constructs remain attached to the main body of the armor and so act as an extension of it. The second type generates a “flowing aura” that appears to flicker like an open flame. This aura is often made as an upwards column that is streamed into the sky with its base remaining around the user. It should be noted that its power is not split or divided as all of the Prana energy is part of one whole. The armors can exhibit tangibility, although this does not hinder the user’s techniques and their passing which can freely move in and out of the armor per the user’s will. B-Rank and below applications require being sustained with 5 chakra per turn while A and S Ranks require 10 chakra per turn. A-Rank and S-Rank applications can last a maximum of three turns, with A-Ranks usable thrice per battle and S-Ranks twice per battle. After an S-Rank application expires the user is unable to utilize Prana above A-Rank for a single turn.

Divinity of Merlin – Garden of Avalon
The Divinity of Merlin allows the user to produce Prana in the same way as the Pride of Gilgamesh and can be shaped in the same way, limited by rank and imagination. However, unlike the Pride of Gilgamesh which creates static constructs the Divinity of Merlin creates constructs imbued with a limited form of sentience – familiars. These familiars can be created anywhere on the battlefield, with the exception of short-range of the opponent unless the user is also within that range; in this case the familiar cannot be created within two meters of the opponent. This restriction does not apply if the user chooses to release the Prana from their body. Familiars are capable of taking numerous shapes, not simply limited to animals. These familiars are also capable of taking solid form at the user’s volition. Familiars are capable of remaining on the battlefield for four turns. B-Ranks and below are sustained through 5 chakra per turn, A-Ranks and above require 10 chakra per turn. S-Rank applications can only be used twice per battle and no Prana above A-Rank in the user’s next turn after deactivation.

Note: The upper echelon of the clan (Servants and above) are capable of using this technique without hand signs for B-rank and below. A-rank will require two hand signs and S-rank requires three.
Note: The lower tier clan members (Phantasms to Guardians) will require 5 to 3 hand seals for all ranks, decreasing as they they ascend in rank.

Emiya trudged through entire oceans of life and possibility, the growths contained reaching out to try and make him one with them, their twisted designs lost on them now that they were a part of it. Butterflies fluttered around him seeking to grant him an invitation to their fetid family with their tender touch, only to be frozen when they met with the shroud of Prana around him, dying instantly, frozen to the core, and falling into the rot, to be broken down, stripped of it's life, and be born anew. Emiya was abhorred at this cycle of life, death and rebirth, but until he understood what made this new red mud tick, he wouldn't even attempt to fix it. He tried to cleanse the Hokubu once, and that went about as poorly as it could have.

Wading through the Scarlet Rot, Emiya knew the entrance to the forge was around here somewhere, but everything was so consumed by the rot, it was hard to tell exactly where. Cancerous growths changed the shapes of the buildings and streets, converting them from their unnaturally rigid and set design, and becoming something more natural, and in tune with nature, growing without concerns about things such as "property lines" or "structural integrity".

I know it's around here somewhere, but this place is a damn mess... Can't tell one building from the other!!"

Emiya had half a mind to just try and burn it all down, but that might draw unnecessary attention, but unless he got his bearings it could take him ages to find the entrance to the Forge. He wanted to see how Marzan was doing after so long in isolation, but at the same time he'd already been missing for two years. What was a couple more minutes when compared to that immensely larger span of time? He could spend a few more minutes being careful... So Emiya returned his attention to the clustered carcasses of flesh like substances that had grown over the Port, intent on finding the entrance.

"And so the blacksmith's student has finally come seeking his master. Or perhaps you made the journey to these forsaken lands for another reason..." A swirl of black mist manifested behind Emiya as Nefarian appeared, shrouded in his typical Voidlord attire though with his hood at his neck rather than concealing his face. Nefarian manifested into the Rot itself, standing in it and seemingly unbothered by its contact with his body. Had he achieved some kind of immunity? Was his cloak protecting him from its effects? "I've been waiting for you to come here for quite some time. I am surprised you waited two years before coming to find your teacher."

As Emiya searched through the sickening ruins of the former port town, he was struck with a case of déjà vu. Some person he'd never met before appeared in a shadowy, mysterious manner and instantly began commenting on his existence and actions, displaying an intimacy with him that he could not reciprocate. Really he was starting to think he was a magnet to these people, the way they flocked to him. Did he have a note stuck to his back? If so, it was definitely placed there by the Magus of Flowers... He stopped searching the ruins, but didn't immediately turn to face the figure, nor try to leap to action. He was familiar with this song and dance by now. If this was who he thought it was, they could end him with a thought, or a snap of their fingers. He let out a sigh. He probably wasn't even safe by virtue of the fact he was just a shadow clone. Fighting was meaningless. Basel had taught him that much back on Kamiyasumi, the dragonkin merely toying with Emiya before a more appetizing meal revealed themselves. But just because he was familiar with the dance absolutely didn't mean that he had to like it. As the figure gave a potential hint as to their motive here, Marzan or the Armory, maybe both, Emiya turned to face him. Aside from the vague mention of what happened from Mira, Emiya never got a proper account of what happened during the Prismatic Plague, such as what the culprit looked like, or what he could do. So when he looked at Nefarian and didn't recognize the man, he responded the only way he could.

"I said it to the last guy, and I'll say it again now, you people could try introducing yourselves to save me the trouble of asking. You all've got the same lack of manners, and expectation that I know who you are, but in case it slipped your mind, we've never met."

Emiya took in the sight of his shadowy conversational partner stood in the Rot, but didn't expect him to be any more affected by the rot than he himself was. He had an admittedly limited way to counteract it, so there was zero surprise when Nefarian appeared unaffected as well. Though the Rot definitely wasn't doing those robes any favors... Nefarian taunted him, mentioning the sheer amount of time that had passed since the Basmu's assault. Was it an attempt to goad him into attacking, or merely venting that he himself had to wait so long for Emiya's return? If so that would mean he was... Pouting? That was a new one. It didn't matter either way, as Emiya responded unburdened by the perceived attempt to influence his mood.

"You know, I did actually try and pay him a visit two years ago, but you probably already know how that ends. Trying to teleport into a space that's been shut off from the rest of space-time isn't the most pleasant experience. And the landing was a pain in the ass."

While he was running his mouth Emiya was trying to think of what he could do in this situation. What could he even do right now? Was it wise to engage him? If he'd spent two entire years waiting for Emiya to return that implied he couldn't open the way to the Armory himself. Would it be smarter to end the Clone Jutsu and return to his main body with the information that this man was interested in Marzan or the Armory? Could that return of information, that link between Clone and true self be exploited? Though he didn't know for a fact this was a Voidlord, he would be 3 for 4 in them appearing in the exact same way... And all of the ones he'd met so far had powers that defied conventional capabilities. Demetrias burned his soul, Basel was able to scatter the energies within his body at an accelerated pace, Phetra simply killed him instantly with an attack that could be best described as death itself. Instant and irrevocable. If this really was Nefarian there was every possibility that there was no right answer here, so instead of trying to find an answer he asked his own question.

"Demetrias gave his word he would stay away from Marzan, though you're obviously not him. You're your own person, and I don't expect you to keep to his end of the bargain for him. But Marzan's tools have already been passed on to countless individuals, so if you're trying to stop him from making them that ship sailed a long time ago. Begs the question of why you decided to spend two whole years waiting on the chance that I show up and lead you right to him? Unless... He wasn't the one you were after..."

Emiya said that part with a hint of apprehension, anticipating some evil laugh and a Machiavellian announcement that of course he was his target all along. A thorn that had long since reached unbearable levels of annoyance that needed to be dealt with once and for all. It would have made for quite the exciting twist in the third act. Demetrias pulled him across the entire world, but only incidentally as Enkidu was his true target and the two of them were tethered at the time. Basel appeared before him on Kamiyasumi, hungry to take a bite out of Emiya, but his true opponent was Lucifer. So was it really the smith Nefarian was after, or was Emiya fortunate that he only sent a clone into the jaws of oblivion?

Underneath his cloak Nefarian smirked as Emiya came to the inevitable and obvious conclusion; "Correct. I care not for the fate of the smith. For quite some time, my sole concern has been your fate." The Voidlord stood, head crooked. He had spent the better part of two years now in this swamp, waiting for Emiya to arrive to seek out Marzan, the greatest blacksmith to have ever walked the planet and one of the few Immortals that remained. "I do not want the production of God-Slayers to stop. In fact, I want them to resume. I require your skill as his apprentice."

The figure spoke and confirmed Emiya's larger concern, that Marzan was only the means to an end. He didn't want neither himself nor the smith to be the target of these harbingers of the cataclysm once again, but at least if Marzan was the target he could simply remain within the Armory. Emiya was by far the easier of the two to access if the previous experience with Demetrias in the Armory was any indicator, the Voidlord having to essentially piggyback off of Emiya to even access it while it was still locked up. By Emiya's own experience, it was impossible to enter the Forge without already being there, or being Marzan himself, making the smith the safer of the two.

Emiya on the other hand? He wandered from place to place. Right now he was loitering around a Rift back in Chungsu on a whim and direction from Enkidu. And he had been ambushed by enemies more than once in the past. The fact that the presumed Voidlord was more focussed on him? There was a reason for that, he just didn't know what yet, but perhaps he was already given a hint. Nefarian had called him Marzan's "apprentice". That was a title he never officially used, but how Nefarian knew it wasn't nearly as important as the implication it held. That the less skilled individual in the relationship was just as, if not more valuable than the master? Was it as simple as believing that Emiya was more malleable, and easier to manipulate? That was definitely a possibility, but there could be more to it he thought. Marzan could only work with the Flames of Atavism, meaning his potential, while astoundingly clear and known the world over by now, had its limits. He was confined to working strictly with the flames that resonated with and mirrored the human soul... Maybe that was it?

"I'm flattered you went so far just for me. Really, it's touching."

Emiya's expression was deadpan with just a hint of sarcasm thrown in to his tone to truly convey how much he cared that this man had spent the better part of two years waiting for him. Without skipping a beat, he continued.

"Putting the question of whether or not I can even make something on the level of Marzan's works to one side for just a second, you have a bigger problem. I just don't trust you. Not even for a second. Demetrias was the only one I'd consider giving a straight answer to, because out of all of you, he is the only one I've met to even have a shred of honor, and in his case it was more than just a shred.

So before I even think about giving you an answer, if you want my help you're going to tell me exactly what you're up to. I'm not just going to blindly assume you have the best of intentions, and I'm under no obligation to do anything for you if I don't want to. You might want a God Slaying Tool to try and go after Enkidu or another one of my friends, which I refuse to be a part of. So start talking, and then I'll give you my answer. And if I feel like you're lying to me, or not giving me the whole story, you can forget it. Wait another two years for the next guy to come along."

Nefarian expected nothing less, pleased that Emiya was at least open to the idea rather than refusing outright. He hooked his middle and index fingers underneath the cloth of his hood as it rested above his head, slowly lowering it to reveal his grim countenance and long silvery hair. His black eyes remained fixated on Emiya, almost as if they were staring deep into the recesses of his soul. "I am the Voidlord Nefarian. Though it would be more apt to call me a former Voidlord." He offered a feigned and forced grin, half expecting Emiya to attack him outright for his words. Though he paused nonetheless, almost as if to goad Emiya into letting his fury get the better of him. Until after a few silent moments... "This broken world is the result of our ancient cause being predicated on lies. And for two years now its rectification has been my primary and sole concern. Any desire to slay or capture the green-haired god was lost the moment that Abzu pulled his children from the Void and left this world vulnerable." Nefarian paused to contemplate how to convey the calamity that loomed on the horizon.

For a moment, Nefarian's black eyes flashed red. "Our objective had never been the desecration of this world. It had been to supplant humanity. And save your breath, for you may need what oxygen you can get in the near future. I know our mission was abhorrent to you and yours. But there looms a far greater threat beneath this stagnant, calamity blasted than this world reveals to you. In truth, more than just the moon fell from the sky that day. It has stirred a beast from the depths of hell. I require the skills you gained from the legendary Marzan and, through my own means, save what remains of this forsaken rock."

Emiya had his suspicions, but it was nice to finally put a face to the name. Unlike Basel this former Voidlord didn't seem interested in tearing him limb from limb on sight, even stating his disinterest in Enkidu. In fact, from the implications dripping forth from his forked tongue it almost sounded like Nefarian himself had been betrayed, and was now trying to save what was left of the world in his own way. Working in the shadows as it were. Compelling stuff, if true. This at least aligned with what Emiya knew about the events surrounding Humanity's Last Stand. Imeroth had been deceived the entire time. He spent his life trying to bring forth Tiamat, only for the serpent to slither its way into reality. As Nefarian finished, advising him to save his breath, Emiya couldn't help but smirk as he tried to get one proper jab in.

"Oh, well in that case I'm sorry your grand, noble dream of killing every human on the planet while leaving the planet itself unspoiled was so rudely interrupted. Truly, you're a hero like no other."

As he weighed the former Voidlord's words, he came to the conclusion that if he was telling the truth it would be idiotic to dismiss him right now. In that spirit Emiya dropped the veiled hostility, but still wouldn't trust Nefarian completely.

"Lets say you're right, and there is some massive threat, a threat even larger than the Cataclysm poised to end everything. Who else knows about this "beast"? If I were to go find Solomon right now, would he have some idea of what you were contending with?"

As he thought about others who might potentially know about this new threat, falling short to think of any more knowledgeable or borderline omniscient than the ancient King, he wondered how the man would react to such a simple but direct question.

"I'm inclined to believe you. That you are acting out of an interest to save the world, or at least prevent further destruction to it. Tiamat is a Divinity of life, and you just said you sought to fill the world with a different kind of life. It makes sense that you wouldn't want it to be completely destroyed. I can understand that intent, even if I'll never see eye to eye with the desire that spawned it."

Emiya sighed, knowing he very well may regret this course of action, but he would agree to help Nefarian, even if the desire to get revenge for those who had died remained nagging in the back of his mind. The knowledge that he couldn't exact that revenge on his own, as he had come to learn from Isabella's endeavors, was also a key factor in that decision, but both of them were no doubt aware of that.

"If I'm going to try to help you, and the word try is doing a lot of heavy lifting there since I've never done anything like this before, I want three things in return. Don't worry, I'm not after money, power, trinkets or anything like that.

First, I hope you don't mind if I ask for your help getting rid of some of this crap. Shouldn't be too hard for a God of Diseases, right? You seem right at home here, so I bet you can help keep it at bay so that it's at least easier to make it into the Armory, or am I wrong? I need to get to the Forge before I try anything, and I'm not going to just abandon Marzan to go off on some errand for you. I came out here for him, so helping you comes second to that no matter how urgent this threat is.

Next I already told you that I'm not making you anything if you plan to use it against my friends. You saying you're not interested in Enkidu is nice and all, but I want your word. Demetrias gave his and he kept it, so if you give yours I'll trust you to do the same.

And last, a simple question. Where is your former ally? I wasn't invited to play witness to your fight with Isabella, but both of your "Domains" fell at the same time as far as I'm aware. Lucifer killed Basel and that triggered the Cataclysm, while Ereshkigal's revivification caused her Domain to shatter while Phetra herself fell into the Void below Ganzir. But Demetrias is unaccounted for. No one's claimed to have beaten him, and I haven't heard anything about him since he last showed up in Marzan's forge. If I was going to run into one of you here, I expected it to be him, but instead it's you. Why?"

Nefarian audibly sighed, shaking his head in disapproval. "I thought I told you not to waste your precious air. Unfortunate. Perhaps if I paint the gravity of your situation differently..." Nefarian lifted one hand to drift at level with Emiya's throat. Suddenly what oxygen in Emiya would be drawn out, forcibly pulled out of his body as if he was breathing in reverse. A lethal exhale. "Listen carefully, while your brain still has sufficient oxygen to operate. Marzan is trapped in that bunker. That much is clear. Without my assistance you will be unable to enter the Forge and rescue your mentor. Bring me a God-Slaying Tool, Emiya. For the sake of humanity." And with that Nefarian vanished, the oxygen rushing back into Emiya's body as the force that pulled it out of him slowly abated.

Emiya wasn't surprised that his quips had him facing retaliation from the Voidlord, in fact it was expected at this point. Despite being a shadow clone he still experienced pain, and there was the lingering fear in the back of his mind, the thought that Nefarian could hold the power to affect his original body back in Chungsu with ease. Nefarian's ire sufficiently displayed, Emiya was given his instructions. Forge a God Slaying Tool for Nefarian, and only then would he be able to rescue Marzan. To attempt it before then was implied to be impossible, he couldn't open the way to the Armory without Nefarian's help. It implied Nefarian was in cahoots with the Beast that ravaged Tobusekai, or at the very least had control over the Rot, seeing as he called himself the God of Disease, and had taken out a not insignificant portion of humanity in a single moment.

As Nefarian vanished Emiya was left to contend with the seemingly insurmountable task of following in Marzan's footsteps. To take the Human Principal and direct it at the heavens, forging tools that could bypass Divinity. He had seen the smith forge many tools within the Armory, but to actually attempt it himself? He didn't know whether to be afraid of trying, or exciting at the prospect of succeeding. One thing was certain though.

"I'm getting fed up of being a damn punching bag for you assholes..."

With the absolute notion that nothing could be done to reach the Forge at the moment, Emiya saw no reason to linger here any longer. With a handseal, the clone vanished in a puff of smoke, transferring it's experiences and information back to the original.

Coming from #286, Sanctuary.

Appearing in a flash Emiya returned to the Port of Innovus, or rather arrived for the first time himself since his clone's detour to the Armory. Knowing what was waiting for him, Emiya intentionally arrived in off the ground, giving himself enough time to put back up the shield of Prana his clone used to avoid contact with the Rot.

Walking through the mire and decayed material, Emiya returned to the general area he'd met Nefarian. If the former Voidlord sensed his previous intrusion in the area, chances were high he was aware of his presence now. He would make absolutely sure however. With a repulsed inhale, Emiya screamed out into the corrupted aether.

"Hey, I'm back!! Come and get your shit!!"

"You shouldn't scream so loudly, you know?" As if perfectly timed and right on queue, a shroud of black smoke manifested Nefarian before Emiya yet again. "Humanity no longer rules these lands. Monsters now inhabit them; monsters born of her Rot. You may attract them, though fortunately she still slumbers." Likely referring to Millicent, Nefarian spoke quietly but firmly. There was something genuine about his voice, a concern hidden behind his often mysterious and graven tone.

Was the former God of Disease afraid of what was to come? Rumors had spread that Nefarian was allied with Millicent. Not much was known about her or her origins; but for about a year now she had been inert, allegedly slumbering deep within the Swamp of Rot centered on Last Bastion. "But at least you had enough proper sense to bring me the weapon. Present the god-slayer and I will break us into the Forge."
