Like clockwork and with that same shadowy arrival Emiya watched as Nefarian materialized before him. Despite trusting the former Voidlord enough to do his bidding Emiya hadn't fooled himself into believing he would be alive if he didn't have the capacity to deliver what Nefarian wanted. He was alive and being given the faintest traces of consideration because of his usefulness and probably nothing more.

"Well I was hoping for something to come crawling out of the woodwork, and here you are."

Keeping his words short and his exhaustive disdain in check Emiya snapped his fingers, a dull flash of azure brought forth from the stasis-imbued environment of the Throne a still burning blade of traditional design. Surprisingly? The design wasn't some twisted, gnarled blade with evil accents painted by Emiya's experiences and perception of the man. No. It was, in the purest sense, devoid of any intent to interpret Nefarian as an individual. If the blade was going to become some dark, disgusting thing he would do it all by himself through his actions and intentions. As though it had just been pulled from the forge, the red hot blade materialized a few feet above Nefarian, falling gently after a moment. Despite it's radiant form the blade did not hurt to touch, rather it's presence was soothing, filled with hope and the will to persevere. There was also a longing, a deep seated desire for connection. To bond.

(Kanki: Ouchou no Kindachi) – Surge of Evocation: Dynasty of Kings
Type: Offensive/Defensive/Supplementary
Rank: D - S
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: 10 - 40
Damage: N/A
Description: This technique encompasses the advanced applications of the Surge of Evocation. Unlike the Era of Gods, which manipulates raw Prana, this technique is used to bring techniques previously transported back onto the field. The two applications of this technique, Conquest and Domination, deal with returning entities within the Throne to the field; thus these two applications require previous absorptions to have already occurred.

Conquest of Alexander – Bastion of Achaemenid
Through this ability, the user will be able to return absorbed objects, techniques, and parts of the terrain to the field. They will be manifested on the field in the form of Prana before becoming corporeal and usable as tangible entities. Upon becoming corporeal, the transported entities will still possess all of the effects and properties they possessed prior to absorption; this is because the Throne places objects within it in a stasis-like state. Objects returned will continue to move with the same speed and momentum that they had. This creates the effect that appears almost as if time had stopped and then later resumed for them, a trait of the Throne. It can be summoned facing a different side and/or in a new location altogether, although it must be outside of five meters of the opponent unless the user is within short-range. Techniques returned through Conquest possess the same damage they did prior to absorption. The technique’s rank applied is directly proportional to the technique rank, size of matter, and complexity; this means returning an A-Rank boulder would require an A-Rank application of Conquest. The S-Rank version of this ability can be used once every three turns and no Prana above A-Rank in the user’s next turn. Bastion of Achaemenid can only be used four times per battle.

Domination of Vlad – Tower of Yggdmillenia
Unlike Conquest, Domination involves concentrating on returning the Chakra contained within objects or techniques to the user’s body. The user systematically isolates all of the Chakra contained within a number of techniques they’ve sent to the Throne, even if only Chakra is present (in the case of raw Chakra techniques and similar abilities). It will then be returned to the user’s body as Prana energy in order to seamlessly integrate into their Chakra network, making it available for later use. The user can utilize this ability four times per battle and the maximum amount of Chakra that can be returned with each use is capped at a maximum of 100 Chakra points. This does not mean this ability will always return that amount, the value is always dictated by how many techniques the user has absorbed and how much Chakra they contained. For example, absorbing 10 A-Rank techniques and integrating them with the user’s system will increase the user’s pool by a full 100 Chakra per turn. Objects that Domination is applied to will no longer carry their damage value once used on; this is because the objects, while stored in the Throne, will become Chakra-void and instead become classified as simple terrain usages when used with Conquest of Alexander. Naturally, this is only possible with matter-based techniques and not those composed of energy. Domination of Vlad is considered an S-Rank technique, costing a move to activate but not taking a slot in the timeframe.
(Kamikorosu: Chōken) – God Slayer: Longsword
Type: God-Slaying Artifact
Rank: C-Rank
Range: N/A
Chakra: N/A
Damage: N/A
Description: A light, double-edged straight sword of extreme quality, the longsword is a traditionally styled weapon from a bygone era, now forged as a God-Slaying Tool. With the sword itself being roughly 2.5ft in length from guard to tip, this weapon is a deadly instrument of precision, especially in the hands of a master. This weapon was forged for Nefarian. Because it is a product of certain Atavistic techniques it is bound to his soul, its anti-Divinity properties are able to pierce the defenses afforded to Divine enemies in the Ninja World. This does not confer a God-Slaying Tool the ability to defeat properties of Anutu or its sub-components; it is specifically targeted against Divine enemies in the Ninja World and the Divinity that they possess. With proper focusing and enhancements perhaps this weapon can become even stronger.

"I didn't mishear that, did I? Break into the Forge? Care to explain that a little before you just go and do it?"

On the surface Emiya was afraid that some drastic action might endanger Marzan. If they "broke into" the Forge was that in a literal sense? Would there be some massive, world-shattering process that might threaten the contents of the Armory? Would it be irrevocably opened, unable to be sealed again? Even deeper there was the subtle hint of suspicion. Demetrias piggybacking off of him to get into the Armory made sense, but if Nefarian could just force his way in why bother sending the Uchiha originally? Emiya didn't want to waste any more breath than he already had simply voicing the concern. Nothing had truly changed about the former Voidlord's situation, at least from Shirō's perspective. This newly awakened threat was still unslain, so the shadowy figure's earlier command to save breath still weighed on Emiya's mind as he waited and watched.

This newly awakened threat was still unslain, so the shadowy figure's earlier command to save breath still weighed on Emiya's mind as he waited and watched.
"Oh, your words...how they wound me so." Nefarian clutched at his heart over his dark robes, feigning emotional pain before scoffing. "Save your disdain for someone who cares. Or, better yet, your true enemy. I would hesitate to look a gift horse in the mouth in such dire times, even if that horse killed millions..." Underneath his cloak the Voidlord flashed a slight smile, recalling the the Prismatic Plague he had unleashed on the world while he was himself a nascent Divinity.

Nefarian took the blade in hand once Emiya manifested it. The weapons that Basel had forged in Dragonfyre for the Akatsuki were similar to this, albeit twisted like Emiya had feared. Though Nefarian had no intent to repurpose or redesign the sword; even if he did, he lacked the capabilities to shape a God-Slayer. "Well done, exquisite. It reminds me of Basel's craftsmanship, albeit less twisted. I can sense its desire to bond with my soul, even one as twisted as mine. Though perhaps I can sense some measure of hesitance from the sword, as if it could be personified as such. Though not for my own horrific history but because my soul was at one point intertwined with Divinity." He ran finger parallel to the edge. "This will do nicely. Well..." He intentionally paused, a devious smile forming across his face yet again as if to feign betraying his end of the bargain.

But nothing of the sort happened. "I am a man of my word, if anything. Though your fears are valid, no destruction will be necessary. You must understand the nature of the seals on his forge. Before calamity struck and the Basmu's tidal wave washed over Tobusekai, Marzan's forge was largely accessible once he had reclaimed it. Perhaps you witnessed this the day that Demetrias manifested himself within the forge. But that is no longer possible. Once Marzan knew that the world would come to an end, he sealed it so that no living beings could enter it. Any attempt to enter the forge externally would be met with locked doors. And if you try to force your way in, well..." Nefarian cups his hands together, crushing the air between them as if to show the forge imploding. "He was very determined to never let the tools in there fall into the wrong hands. So how might one enter then? We need only to die."

Emiya remained unfazed as Nefarian played along with his jab, before dismissing it entirely, telling him to direct his ire towards a more deserving target. Emiya would do such a thing, except for one simple fact...

"Maybe I would if you hadn't been so tight lipped and trigger happy last time. I still don't even know what this enemy is, so you're the only one I can throw my disdain at right now. Don't worry though, I believe you can survive some targeted sass."

The reminder of the Plague didn't do much to set Emiya off, surprisingly. He'd recently vented his frustrations with Isabella regarding the hunt for the Voidlord, and at that time he'd rationalized the plague. While ultimately still disgusted that Nefarian decided to "turn off" the plague's effects, killing those it had spared, therein lay the issue with his anger at the plague itself. Those lives, whether through disease, injury, starvation, or some other malady were fated to die, or rather, they did die. Nefarian simply paused it. While the act to undo that kindness was one Emiya still despised, he couldn't argue that there was a certain twisted kindness to the act. Families, friends, lovers, all got the chance to spend just a little more time with those close to them, rather than face the final darkness when they were supposed to. It was an act Emiya couldn't ever see himself being capable of, yet it aligned with his one goal. To save people. To oppose that, to find the plague itself repulsive would be the purest hypocrisy. Nefarian's plague's effects were nothing short of a miracle. It was the whims and plan that it was borne from that ultimately led to those deaths becoming a reality again, a plan Nefarian himself now opposed as the deceptions therein were brought to light.

"If it's going to be some twisted thing, it'll be your soul painting it, and entirely out of my hands.
And please don't compare to me him or his works."

Emiya wouldn't elaborate by detailing his all to brief run in with the Dragonkin on Kamiyasumi. He'd never seen one of Basel's works, but the comparison insulted him all the same.

Emiya listened intently as Nefarian went into detail about the Armory's defenses. While he would have appreciated a lesson from the smith himself, it made sense why he essentially bounced off of the Armory the last time he tried to enter it. He was glad he didn't try to force his way in, and unintentionally implode the smith and his sanctuary. As Nefarian got to the last part however Emiya's expression turned sour, then grim. He wanted to make some quip. Some combination of words that would bring levity and irony to the situation, or mock Nefarian for the suggestion, but instead he just looked on. Not a hint of deceit in the man's words or face. Then again Emiya was never particularly good at spotting those things... But he was serious, wasn't he? Emiya wanted to gesture sarcastically at Nefarian, telling him to go first. He wanted to make some remark about how just about every Voidlord had managed or at the very least attempted to kill him. A joke about how he'd probably experienced death more than any other human on the planet. Instead, a quick swallow to settle his nerves, a moment of broken eye contact as he closed his eyes in mental preperation, then put his faith into a man he truly expected to betray him one day, though perhaps not this one.

"Alright. Just get it over with then."

Emiya stood there the picture of a man as ready as he could be to meet his fate. He'd seen the other side, and death was as familiar to him as breathing now. He knew what was waiting for him, or rather he did once. Irkalla's current situation was still an unknown to him, but he'd seen how it worked. There was a system, a fair and balanced mechanism which determined the flow of souls into the next life. Two intoners to sing into reality the weave of fate and life. An almighty arbiter to swiftly determine whether a soul deserved suffering or salvation. And the throne at it's heart, maintaining the afterlife with an absolute authority. This knowledge, that there was indeed something after this life? It was a comfort just as much as it was anxiety inducing, for knowing that Irkalla was a tangible, physical place that existed took all sense of ambiguity from his death. Heaven? Hell? Nirvana? A blank void of dark nothingness? The Pure Land? Even if they were real his soul would probably never be claimed by these places, for witnessing the existence of Irkalla determined his soul's trajectory forever, or at least so he believed.

So Emiya stood there, waiting for the instrument of his death to be revealed. He didn't know whether to be proud or insulted by the possibility, but he was expecting his own blade to be that instrument.

"Compared to your last encounter with death, I expect this one will be far less painful." Nefarian held out his palm, a small purple and black orb of swirling energy formed. Nefarian's gaze fell onto it, focusing on its creation. "This will be bloodless and instantaneous. In my view, if one can compare one death to another...this is far better than falling on your own sword." There was no sarcasm in his voice this time, he was simply calm and focused. "Before you protest...I'll be watching over your body. Consider it a bonus for the fine craftsmanship put into this sword." As he said that the sword vanished, spirited away to some pocket dimension or separate space where Nefarian would one day call upon it for his own devices. "And before you protest..." His eyes darted to meet Emiya's. In that instant the orb dissipated, splicing Emiya's soul from his body. Before his physical form could collapse in the Scarlet Rot infested earth and swamp Nefarian caught it, teleporting himself away to the Ruined Temple.

This post contains a mission using the following Custom Story Elements.

Explore the veil between life and death. (5)

Summary: Emiya's soul has been separated from his body, with the latter being spirited away by Nefarian to who knows where. Now, stuck between life and death in a spiritual form, Emiya has to try and navigate his way into Marzan's armory while dealing with the aftermath of this decision, as well as the fallout from the Basmu's assault and Nefarian's plague, and the souls who linger throughout the world due to these events.

It was an odd sensation to know that his body and spirit had been severed. Without Nefarian's prior words it would have been an entirely different feeling to see his form go limp and fall, yet also stay completely still and unaffected from his point of view as a now disembodied spirit. To watch his own body falling from having it's strings cut. To shift from a first person to a third person perspective in real time. Emiya reached out instinctively to catch his falling body but saw Nefarian grab and spirit it away, claiming this to be a bonus for such craftsmanship. It was one thing to promise to look after his body, but to teleport away with it? Despite the man's claims Emiya couldn't help but feel an overwhelming sense of dread. This was a man who had blown up Isabella's heart with a gesture, robbed his clone of air with another, and just effortlessly tore soul from body with a thought. That thought beget another. What could he do to Emiya's body when given enough time to tinker? He was able to enact miracles with a gesture, what havoc could he wreak with an hour or two? Suddenly Emiya felt like he was on a timer to finish his objective here and find a way back to his body before the nefarious individual had enough time with it to successfully plot something.

Looking around Shirō was taken aback. Everything appeared the same, he was still stood in the Port of Innovus, but it was like the world had become muted, dull, and had a wispy, ethereal appearance to it. Strands of a haunting pale blue energy clung to every surface, drifting off into nothingness. Even though he was stood in the rot he was completely unaffected by it, so at least Nefarian didn't lie. He was a disembodied spirit. Now he just had to find his way into the Armory through all this muck... It had been a couple of days, but Shirō found it ironic that he was right back to square one, though this time he was without a body. Wading through the swamp, Emiya was right back to hunting for the entrance to the Armory.

Moments after he began searching the ground began to bubble and boil, and several twisted monstrosities akin to insects began to rise from the Scarlet Rot infused ground. Had they been disturbed by his and Nefarian's little chat like the pointy eared one implied? Emiya watched as their wings began frantically beating at insane speeds, taking off the ground and flying straight through him. While not painful Emiya immediately began to feel sick as his spiritual form came into contact with the soul of the adherent of Rot. While not twisted himself, Emiya felt the corrupting influence of the Rot within that monster, and recoiled with nausea. Thankfully he didn't have a stomach to void, but the feeling wasn't pleasant. As the group of mutants flew off Emiya looked back towards his destination and noticed lights off in the distance he hadn't seen previously. Dancing in a macabre display Emiya began to cautiously approach them, passing through and passed countless cancerous growths and tumors infesting the Landmark, passed rotten, fetid buildings covered in tumorous masses, watching as the loose shapes in this veil between life and death became more defined and clearer. As he got close it became clear what they were. Souls. Not exactly like him, but close enough. Their flickering, fading forms growing dull amongst the wisps of this space, threads of light and life unraveling from their "bodies" and being lost to the winds and time.

Shirō looked around, and there were several hundreds of souls all aimlessly wandering through the streets of Innovus and further beyond in the surrounding lands. It didn't take very long for him to understand what these were. These were the souls who once resided in Innovus but were killed by Nefarian's plague. Their souls couldn't enter Irkalla because it was shut by Ereshkigal at the end of the Raid and the defeat of Phetra, so they were left to linger. Now that the Underworld was ground zero in a war with the Void, the flow of souls was still disrupted, leaving them here to rot... It wasn't intentional, at least on the part of Ereshkigal, but these people were simply forgotten. It was probably the same throughout the entire world... Countless souls were snuffed out that day, and left to linger, all because of Nefarian. Emiya felt another surge of rage at Nefarian that these people were left here to suffer, and he didn't care. Reason and method aside, this was abhorrent... But there was nothing he could do. These people had seemingly begun to fade away over time, and if they hadn't passed on now, they probably would never do so. If things settled down in Irkalla, Emiya might ask Ereshkigal if it was possible to do something for these unfortunate victims, but for now he had to focus solely on Marzan. These souls would have to hold on just a little longer. Emiya turned away to head back towards the port proper, when one of these lingering spirits quickly approached him and reached out, grabbing his shoulder with surprising force, digging their fingernails in. As a cold sensation spread throughout his body, as though the cold sensation of death were spreading through his body, Emiya heard a voice scream out to him.

"You... can see me..? Have you... seen... my... baby?!"

(Inton: Namakemono no Ude ) Yin Release: Hands of Sloth
Type: Supplementary/ Offensive/ Defensive
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra Cost: 100 (110 w/ YY: Hands of Sloth) -50 per turn
Damage: 120
Description: This technique gets its name from one of the deadliest sins, Sloth. The user begins by clapping their hands and focusing their Yin Release chakra behind them, creating several chakra arms (up to 8) behind them, each of which is spiritual in nature. The arms themselves are invisible to the naked eye, but they can be sensed by external forms of chakra sensory or Doujutsu. The arms are capable of physically interacting with the world and attacking or defending against physical constructs. However, the user can freely turn them intangible if they wish to bypass these physical obstacles. The base usage of this technique allows the user to attack or defend covertly by freely manipulating the invisible arms. However, in their second form the user can add the “properties of sloth” to the hands which are dejection, idleness, and sleep. Dejection is a loss of will and focus translated in causing a victim to lose coherent perception of the world around them and weaken their ability to defend against genjutsu. Idleness is a loss of action which is translated to a hampered ability to cast techniques. Sleep is a loss of consciousness which is translated in a comatose state brought about by the sealing of one’s spirit if they are not sufficiently healed. The third and final form of this technique is brought about when the user introduces their Yang Release chakra which essentially makes the hands quasi-sentient and self-sufficient without the user’s mental input.

Note: All Yin Release users can use the base form of this technique. Yin Release Specialists or Yin-Yang users can use the second form. The final form of this technique can only be used by Yin-Yang users with a Yin affinity.
Note: The properties of sloth are spiritually degenerating properties. The more a victim interacts with the hands the worse they become. When touched by the hands once, the victim enters dejection and becomes unable to deduce A-rank and above genjutsu and unable to break S-rank genjutsu by any means. When touched twice the victim enters idleness and they become unable to perform techniques within a single time-frame. When touched thrice, the victim’s mind is sealed over the course of 2 turns and they enter a genjutsu that renders them a mindless puppet to the user. The properties of sloth can only affect victims if the hands are tangible. Switching between tangibility and intangibility requires a move.
Note: Genjutsu specialists and other Yin-Yang users can resist the properties of sloth through the use of counter genjutsu or Yin Release techniques like Yin State.
Note: This technique can be used once per battle. While in use, the user cannot use any non-elemental ninjutsu, Yang Release, or Yin-Yang Release techniques.

Emiya's Health: 240 - 120 = 120.
Additionally Emiya receives 5 spiritual damage every turn (Considered every 5-10 seconds for the purposes of this mission) due to the sheer amount of spiritual health lost.

From the second the spirit touched him, Emiya was overcome with a feeling of pure fear. He watched as his essence was pulled from his body, stolen as this crazed woman nourished her form. Strings and strands of light and life ripped from his body as the woman pulled her hand away, stabilizing her form while siphoning it from Emiya's. Another hand reached out trying to solidify her grip on Shirō's form and steal as much essence from him but Shirō pushed away, getting away from this woman falling back, leaning up against one of the twisted walls of the once prosperous port. Rising to his feet Emiya watched her charge at him, aiming to feed again. Whoever this woman was before now she was just a mindless husk grasping at the nearest source of nourishment. Only the faintest traces of her life would be left, the memory of her child the only thing keeping her from slipping away into unreality. While heartbreaking there was nothing he could do to help, his prior plan to petition Ereshkigal becoming increasingly futile in the face of the knowledge that these people were probably far beyond saving. If their deaths weren't enough to break them, witnessing and experiencing the Basmu's assault on Tobusekai, and being trapped within this bog since would. The woman let out another screech as more souls noticed the disturbance and began flocking towards Emiya en masse. As the blood-curdling scream reached his ears Emiya's sight failed, trapping him in a world of endless darkness as a feeling of exhaustion began to set in.

( Kokuangyo no Jutsu ) - Bringer-of-Darkness Technique
Rank: A-Rank
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 30
Damage: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, causing the opponent to believe they have been trapped in a world of infinite darkness, where their sense of sight is useless. It is capable of affecting multiple targets within range. However, it does not negate their other senses.

Though he'd been neglecting it due to the weird feeling the entire continent had been giving him, Emiya closed his eyes, sensing the spiritual presences all around him. Not only were there distinct, singular souls converging upon his location, the very land itself was giving off it's own almost homogenized signature. It was like the land was itself one large living, breathing thing, and not just some red mud that got tossed around everywhere. It's vile influence was seeping into everyone and everything, either through direct physical contact, or with subtle suffusion with the world. These poor souls were degrading thanks to the land itself and it's now corrupting nature. It was just like Tiamat all over again... And the end results were barrelling towards him with ravenous abandon.

Despite it being his ideal to save as many people as possible, Shirō believed these people to be beyond saving. They were already dead, and now they were left to fester and grow rotten until time and resentment withered away the last of their humanity. He would have to show them mercy. Emiya swung his arm out to the side as he prepared to unleash a stream of Fire Release Chakra at the spirits, but no flame was produced. He focussed his efforts again then came to a sudden realization. His Chakra Network had been whisked away with his cor-... his.... body. His body. He was just a spirit now, and thus only had access to his spiritual energy, which complicated things infinitely more than he would ever want them to be. He still had a veritable army of the dead converging on him, each and every one of them slavering over his spiritual body and the energies contained within, but he wasn't without any tools, or means of defending himself. He still had his "body", and the techniques engraved into it. If nothing else he could grant these spirits mercy with his fists, though... Dodging out of the way of the first spirit to reach him, the same woman from before, by ducking under her grasp and keeping a low, defensive stance as he gracefully ducked his way back towards the open center of the street he kept that draining, cold sensation she imparted upon him at the forefront of his mind as he thought about his next steps. If that was something that would just happen every time he made contact? He would be long dead and consumed before he even made a dent in the numbers surrounding him. These spirits seemingly nourished and sustained themselves on Emiya's spiritual vitality, which at the moment was all he had. Engaging directly probably wasn't the best idea, he thought to himself as he sidestepped another hungry ghost who had sprinted at him like a wild animal, crashing into the ground as he avoided it's grasp.

Taking a couple strides back, Emiya compared the two spirits that had attacked him. The first, the childless mother, had a brighter, more stable form, while the second, an ambiguously faded individual looked like they were on the verge of vanishing forever. So the mother definitely became stronger after she dug her claws into him, though it didn't explain the infinite darkness surrounding him. Had she sapped Shirō of enough energy to rob him of his sight? Though he couldn't know it himself, these beings were reduced to spiritual forms and thus only capable of spiritual attacks, performing them out of pure instinct as they all most likely lacked the capacity in life to perform such techniques. He had been placed in a Genjutsu, but couldn't know it for a fact as it lacked the traditional requirements of handseals, and he lacked the traditional tools and methods to determine that it was in fact a Genjutsu. To compound the issue he had been struck by the hand of the spiritually degrading soul, inflicting him with the effect of "Dejection", making it impossible to detect the Genjutsu even if he had the means. His empathy had landed Emiya into an immediately unfavorable position, but now that he had a grasp on the dangers of these victims, and what they were capable of with just a single touch.

As a larger group began to crash down upon him from behind like a wave while the first two turned and leapt towards him, Emiya kept his eyes closed, relying upon his spiritual sensory, and let his own instincts take over. One deep breath. His spiritual body went from a light blue color to a pure silvery glow as he effortlessly avoided the desperate clawing attempts at claiming fragments of his soul. Shirō was thankful that this technique was one ingrained into his very essence, a mental state that guided physical actions and not something that required Chakra or some other extraneous conditions. With this he could avoid the horde descending upon him, but it wouldn't do anything to thin their numbers. He was understandably focusing on defense, weaving and dodging countless swipes and grabs and slashes towards his form, but he had yet to exorcise a single one of these rabid specters.

(Migatte no GokuiChō hon'nō) Mastery of Self-MovementUltra Instinct
Type: Supplementary/ Defensive
Rank: N/A
Range: Short
Chakra: N/A
Damage: N/A
Description: An advanced Taijutsu art, based on the martial art of "(Mushin) Empty Mind", a mental state where the body reflexively reacts without the need of having any specific input from the practitioner, resulting in such refined levels of instinct and intuition to a level where they can respond to any threat without the need for thought. This is achieved via an intense level of training, wherein one is endlessly bombarded with incredibly fast, yet weak strikes, until they eventually grasp the concept of "self-movement", where each part of the body seemingly acts independently of the user's own will. It teaches one to abandon the practice of "thinking before moving", and simply initiate "moving without thinking". This is incredibly useful, as messages from the brain can only move through the nervous system to one's body parts so fast, subsequently losing precious time in combat that add up with every consecutive movement and action. This technique does not increase, or grant any kind of additional boost to the user's movement, tracking or reaction speed in any sense. Instead, it is akin to an automated defensive stance that allows the user to effectively negate any incoming physical attack that they can, visually or otherwise, register, without actually thinking about performing the actions. The body moves, almost as if on it's own accord, to respond to incoming attacks, and attempts to negate, redirect, or counter them in the most logical manner, before proceeding to intercept the next attack. A perfect idiom to describe this stance is "The lights are on, but no one is home", as the user is clearly responding to external threats, yet doesn't always seem entirely "present". One of the many benefits to this technique is that it is purely physical, and, by it's very nature, requires little to no input from the user themselves, especially in regards to their Chakra flow. As their body is reacting instinctively, rather than with directed motions and a proper input from the user themselves, they're free to use their heads to perform other actions, such as analysing attack patterns, potential weak points, and formulate and initiate proper counter attacks, etc. There are significant drawbacks to this technique as well however as, by it's very nature, it can only allow the user's body to react to actions and attacks that they can witness. This means the user cannot use this technique against attacks faster than they can track or logically register due to speed, but also attacks of a deceptive nature, or attack the user in some unregisterable manner, such as attacks that cannot be physically seen, like "Frog Kumite", or attacks that strike outside the user's field of vision. However, in the case of techniques that are directly applied via physical actions, such as in the case of a Shinobi driving a Rasengan into the body of their opponent, the user can divert this incoming threat by redirecting the physical motions of the opponent's strike, "countering" the Rasengan without making physical contact with it, or even ending the technique. [ ] Finally, entering into this stance does not constitute the usage of one of the user's 3 Jutsu per turn, however, if this technique is used to defend against another Jutsu, every instance of a successfully defended technique does consume one of the user's allotted Jutsu from their next turn. When used to defend against freeform actions and movements, no Jutsu slots are consumed. This can, in most cases, force a stalemate in close-quarters combat centric fights, as neither party gains any ground, or inflicts damage upon the other.

Note: Can only be used for a max of 3 turns, and user must wait 3 turns between usages.
Note: Can only be taught by Iᴍᴘᴇяғᴇᴄᴛ, and can only be used by Biographies with a Taijutsu specialty.

Shirō took out one of the swords from his hip, thankful that they had been converted over into a spiritual form just like he had, and took a swing at one of the approaching spirits. He watched as the blade phased through their body, completely ignored and ineffective. Immediately letting go of the blade and retreating, afraid that prolonged contact would rob him of his spiritual energy again, Emiya tried again, throwing another and watching as it passed through several spirits before being assigned to immateriality, fading into nothing off in the distance. All he had was his body, but physical contact was going to be his undoing, and his weapons were useless. Even if he wasn't already, he was beginning to completely regret his decision to investigate those unknown dancing lights lingering within the Port. In a fit of desperation he resorted to his trump card: Tsumukari. Pulling the reality defying, transcendent weapon from it's sheathe he lashed out with a horizontal strike.

(Tsumukari) – Heaven Reaching Blade
Type: Artifact
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short – Long
Chakra: N/A
Damage: 100
Description: Tsumukari, or the Heaven Reaching Blade, is the first katana reforged in the Armory of Marzan after the raid on Irkalla, the Underworld. The sword was reforged using the remnants of the God-Slaying Tool Blessings from the End of the World. Tsumukari is the first of a new generation of God-Slaying Tools, weapons noted to be the great “equalizers” in a cosmic conflict between the gods and man. Forging the blade was a cooperative effort between Marzan, the original engineer of the God-Slaying Tools, and his apprentice Emiya in the aftermath of the demise of the Domain of Death. Because its former iteration was rife with Void energy, Tsumukari has been endowed with unique abilities that go beyond what a standard God-Slaying Tool is capable of. On a basic level Tsumukari and the techniques it produces, be it through the sword or the sword as a proxy, contain proper Divinity to damage and slay a god. Passively, Tsumukari increases the user’s Kenjutsu techniques that utilize the sword by 30 additional damage. All the user’s Kenjutsu techniques, with the exception of those of Tsumukari’s active abilities that explicitly exclude them, gain a single range unit. Visually this appears as crescents and strikes of energy lashing out from the edge of Tsumukari, extending the range when necessary. Tsumukari is unbreakable; though its unbreakable nature cannot be used defensively alone. Use of any of the active abilities of Tsumukari puts the other two on cooldown for two turns.

Yōtō (lit. 妖刀, "Wicked Katana"): The first and most basic attack afforded to the wielder by Tsumukari. The user adorns the edge of the blade with Chakra, infusing it with trace Divinity, and performing simple slashes or piercing attacks with the sword. The user can either maintain the energy along the edge of the blade, empowering its basic attacks to inflict considerable damage for up to three attacks or five turns, whichever comes first. Alternatively, the user can consume the adorned edge and focus it into an arc of Chakra as a projectile with long-range reach. In either case, the blade strikes for 100 physical damage. This damage is treated as strong to all natures and abilities, with the only exception of Anutu and its components. Can be used four times per battle.

Will of the God-Slayer: A state activated through Tsumukari. The Will of the God-Slayer is the legacy of Marzan himself; through raw determination and human ingenuity the blacksmith forged the first God-Slaying Tool. It is an evocation of tenacity and hope, the desire for a better tomorrow by equalizing the war of today. When activated the user’s Kenjutsu prowess is further augmented, increased by an additional 20 damage while gaining an increase of three times their base speed. Additionally, any critical strikes they land with Tsumukari are increased by 30%. Lasts for four turns, can be used twice per battle.

Tsumukari Muramasa: A unique technique that emerges from Tsumukari’s unique composition between Void and Divinity. In short, this ability affords Tsumukari the power to cut causality. The technique is initiated through the user’s Chakra, costing 120, though its true cost lies in the Health Points it drains. Because the user possesses no Divinity the combination of Void and Divinity siphon the user’s health, costing the user 70 Health Points to perform. This health cannot be regenerated while in a battle unless the user possesses full Anutu or Atavistic Flame, in which case it can only be regenerated four turns after Tsumukari’s use. In the case of Atavistic Flame it heals at a rate of 50%, meaning if the user heals for 70 Health Points with Atavistic Flame it will count as 35 toward their total. In essence, when this technique is activated it becomes able to ‘cut’ causality and concepts that the user is capable of perceiving. It cannot cut the concept of ‘life,’ meaning to instantly kill another target. When Tsumukari is used like this it does not physically cut the target, rather it performs a metaphysical cut. There is no visible slash, gash, or piercing wound left on their victim, though contact with the blade is still required. Tsumukari Muramasa can cut Chakra, bonds, summoning contracts, and even Edo Tensei links. This ability can be used thrice per battle.

Medic: this God-Slaying specialization is designed to provide medical support to their team. They are not particularly well suited to combat, much like a Support specialist. But they are able to cure debuffs, diseases, and provide significant benefits to their teammate in the way of bulk healing, healing over time, and area healing.

Grace of Ishtar (Passive): Medics gain an increased 30% healing to all their abilities. Their healing techniques have a 20% chance to critically heal, causing them to heal for 100% increased healing.

Composite Healing (Passive): A Medic's healing techniques gain Composite Healing. This causes all healing to simultaneously heal Spiritual and Physical damage.

Embrace of Nannar (Active): At the cost of a move and a slot in the timeframe the user is able to heal all allies within mid-range of their position for 30 Health Points and cure them of all negative debuffs, as long as they can be cured. Usable once every four turns.
(Surasshu) - Slash
Type: Offensive
Rank: D - B
Range: Short
Chakra: N/A
Damage: 20 - 40 + 30 (Tsumukari Passive) = 70
Description: One of the simplest moves in Bukijutsu, the user will begin by using one of their weapons to deliver a simple attack by swinging the weapon in an arc. The user is free to do variations of angles with this technique, allowing attacks from unpredictable locations. This technique works with weapons of all types including sharp and blunt.

While it was a gamble, Emiya was acutely aware of the blade's unique ability to subvert reality, cause and effect were it's playthings. It was an educated gamble, and it paid off, as his swing carved through the weakened souls before him, and carried on as an arc of light extended from the blade, dispersing these souls forever. Emiya watched as one soul stood defiant, that same woman from before. Though clearly struck by the blade, a clear division between her torso and legs, she still stood. She had stolen Emiya's spiritual vitality, and thus reinforced her form by as much. Suddenly the hungry mob seemed far more apprehensive, and less eager to charge him. Emiya took another moment to catch his breath, as one spirit from the mob suddenly appeared behind the "mother", driving his fist through her chest, and absorbing her in her entirety. Suddenly the mob all began doing the same, trying to tear one another apart, desperate to empower themselves to the point where they could overpower and devour Shirō. The Surgebinder watched in horror as whatever traces of humanity that lingered were completely overridden by hunger and a desire to reclaim some semblance of their lives and original forms. In mere moments several dozen souls had been stolen and consumed as the remaining mobs began to scream out into the aether. Emiya gripped Tsumukari tightly as a golden light flooded his body from the blade. Individually they were souls worthy of pity and mercy, but if they were all combined into a singular soul? He was guaranteed to die here as limited as his arsenal and options were.

Emiya watched as, through his minds eye, a torrent of spiritual hands wrapped and curled around themselves in a serpentine wall. They crashed into the rotten earth before a flash erupted from the point of impact and an instant later the hands were severed into countless wisps of energy. Overpowering the hands with sheer force and grace, Emiya had also mowed down a several of the newly empowered souls as he strode through the street. Arcs of light leapt off his blade as he gracefully swung and twisted his body with a dancer's motions, leaving a wide area of silence where there was once discordant ghosts. Once again the souls howled and screamed in an almost animalistic rage that they were being pushed back, denied this nourishment that might make them whole again. With that last attack the silver energies swirling through his form dissipated and with it Emiya's body stopped moving of it's own accord. Despite pushing these souls back, he felt as weak as ever, like his spiritual essence was being slowly unraveled from within...

(Mizutori no Odori) - Waterfowl Dance
Type: Offensive
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short (Short-Mid)
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage: 80 +30 (Tsumukari) (+20 Will of the God-Slayer) = 130
Description: An offensive Kenjutsu technique executable only by those with immaculate footwork and unparalleled bladework, the user will perform a series of one footed leaps during which they release a rapid flurry of fluid strikes, able to strike enemies in any direction from the user and overwhelm inferior combatants with the deluge of rapid, well placed strikes. The leap from the technique is enough to carry the user forward one range tier while performing the attack.

Note: Usable three times per battle with a turn cool down in between usages.

Emiya's Health: 120 - 15 (Spiritual Health Drawback over 3 "turns") = 105.
At 43% of his spiritual Health, Emiya is still subject to the loss of 5 spiritual health, but no additional effects trigger.

Exhaustion was beginning to set in, he could feel his spiritual form flickering and fading, but Emiya still knew he could do this. He just had to take everything one step at a time. Rushing things would just end with his death. He took another breath to collect himself, as one massive signature made it's presence known. Sprinting into Innovus from the surrounding plains, crashing into the remaining souls, Emiya watched as an emaciated spiritually corrupt deer tore the group to shreds with it's malformed horns, and absorbed their remaining energies, gorging itself. Growing even larger, it's form even more twisted and horrifying, though he couldn't physically see the beast, still trapped within the illusory darkness inflicted upon him, he could sense it's form grow stronger, it's shape and presence more defined. In contrast, Emiya's golden aura was already beginning to wane. He was running out of time, and this monstrosity had already set it's sights on him. With a haunting, ethereal roar, the rotten ancestral spirit charged.

Explore the veil between life and death - Part 2. (5)

Summary: Still trapped in this veil between life and death, Emiya finds himself hunted by an ancient spiritual deer that has seemingly been corrupted by the surrounding cursed lands. Driven mad and feeding from the souls of those who died from Nefarian's plague two years passed it charges at Emiya intent on devouring his soul as well.

A piercing roar echoed throughout the ethereal plane, shaking it to it's core as the beast charged. Still unable to see through the illusory darkness that enveloped his senses, unable to rid himself of such a simple but frustrating Genjutsu due to the inability to even detect that it was a Genjutsu, he could only sense the monster's terrifying form as it eclipsed his own. Scraping its horns along the ground on the right side of it's body, it's spiritual form phasing through the scarlet rot infesting Innovus as though it wasn't even there almost telegraphing that it was going for a sweeping swing of it's fetid skeletal growths. Emiya waited until the last possible moment, drawing his blade up to his chest and aiming the tip of Tsumukari straight ahead before leaping forward with a thrust. Aiming for the deer's front left hoof, if he couldn't inflict serious damage, he hoped to at least slow the corrupted spirit of nature down.

(Kenjutsu: Kage no Ōi Isogu) - Sword Technique: Shadowrush
Type: Offensive
Rank: B - S
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage: 40 - 80 +30 (Tsumukari Passive) +20 (Will of the God-Slayer) = 130
Description: A powerful Kenjutsu technique where the blade is held in a stance parallel to the ground, either above the wielder's head or at eye level, with their off hand reaching towards the tip of their blade. Leaping forward the user will deliver a thrust, driven by their own power and movement, effectively turning their sword into a piercing spear capable of shattering stone. At the end of the thrust the user can vault off of their landing point, allowing them to quickly reposition to a more favorable position either via retreating in the direction they came from, or to better position for a follow up, within short-range of their vaulting point.

Note: S Rank version is usable three times; A rank version is usable 4 times.

Emiya watched as Tsumukari carved cleanly through the deer's leg, erasing it's spiritual form as the blade severed the glowing wispy extremity. He took a sigh of relief knowing that this was another being that his spiritual yet real all the same blade could harm. Vaulting off of the ground he landed behind the ancestral spirit as the golden glow that had been circulating throughout his body finally faded. He gripped the blade even harder, knowing that it had been empowering his strikes and making his attacks more impactful than they otherwise were. Shirō was concerned that his strikes may not be good enough anymore.

Rotten Ancestral Spirit's Health: ?00 -130 (Regenerated) = ?00.

Turning his sight back to the deer it stumbled as it's body crashed into one of the tumorous growths growing on Innovus' structures, but quickly regained it's posture. Worse it's erstwhile hoof regenerated, the severed stump growing back as the spirit repaired it's form by expending some of the energy it gained from the devoured souls of Innovus. Seeing as the Threat that he was, the spirit let out another screech, though this time it was accompanied by an odd shaking of it's head... It was as though the spirit was trying to shake off something, though what exactly that was Emiya had no idea. It wasn't until he watched an impossible number of feathers slowly drifting down from above him in this lightless abyss that he could even begin to understand what was going on. White feathers began to swallow his field of view in the abyssal void as he quickly felt exhaustion and a desire to just shut his eyes for a moment settle in.

(Nehan Shōja no Jutsu) - Temple of Nirvana Technique
Rank: A
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 30
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes one handseal, placing all the targets in the area under an illusion where feathers appear to fall from the sky. This slowly puts the opponents to sleep after one turn.

Just a moment... Just... one... A clench of his left fist and Emiya was flooded with a searing pain of his own design. His spiritual body began to suddenly burn brightly with an intense orange flame, the damage he willingly inflicted upon his form unraveling the illusions placed upon him, burning the cascading feathers to a crisp while banishing the false darkness that had enveloped his senses. Emiya had approached the spirits of the departed with respect, or at least as much as he could muster, granting them some peace in this hellish space betwixt and between limited though he was by his current state. He had been dealing with them while worrying about what he couldn't do, forgetting that, at his core, he was still a living soul with a spiritual presence in the world. These were the only conditions required to utilize the Human Principal. Standing there, fist wreathed in Atavistic Flame, Emiya casually tossed a minuscule ember up into the air in an arc, aiming to have it bounce off the spirit's face. The tiny dart of light streaked through the air leaving a trail and illuminating the surroundings much less than it had when condensed within Shirō's fist, before harmlessly bouncing off of the from of the deer's skull. The colossal beast stirred, rearing it's rotted head back almost as though it was about to let out another vile scream when suddenly a massive flash of light envelopes the entire area, a terrifying inferno of cataclysmic proportions erupts into a geyser of flame as Emiya allows the Human Principal wash over him. Though it didn't heal him, it did wound the ancestral spirit. The warm embrace of Humanity's subconscious desire to survive washed over him. He wasn't just going to roll over and accept his death. Not like this. Not to this thing. Not because of him.

(Kaen Kakkusei Iden: Eikō no Honō) – Atavistic Flame: Blaze of Glory
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short – Long
Chakra: N/A
Damage: 80 (110)
Description: Blaze of Glory is a powerful Atavistic Fire technique that employs devastation on a wide scale. From their hand or their mouth, the user generates a single golden ember and launches it to a targeted destination on the battlefield. Upon reaching its destination the ember erupts in a massive inferno, encompassing up to 40 meters to unleash fiery devastation in a widespread area. Upon creation the user is able to designate allies, following Atavistic Flame’s rules, and render them immune, along with the user, to the damage inflicted by Blaze of Glory. Those designated by the user instead are healed for a massive 80 spiritual Health Points, not including the user themselves. Activation of this technique requires the user expend 30 spiritual Health Points. They will heal themselves for 10 spiritual Health Points over three turns, 10 per turn. This technique can be used three times per battle, once every two turns. Grandmaster applications increase the damage of this technique by an additional 30, not counting as a boost.

Emiya's Health: 105 - 30 (Blaze of Glory) -10 (Spiritual Health Drawback x2) = 65.
At 27% of his spiritual Health, Emiya is still subject to the loss of 10 spiritual health every "turn".
Additionally he suffers an effective loss of -1 to his Spiritual AP thanks to being reduced to 30% or lower.
Despite the loss to his Spiritual AP his use of Atavistic Flame is unaffected thanks to his Human Principal Specialty.

Peering through the flames Emiya can see the rotten spirit standing defiant, not wholly unaffected, but not nearly as wounded as he himself was. His spiritual form almost all but expended, flickering in and out of existence like a flame against the harshest of winds in the bitter solace of a winters nights embrace. His left arm scorched by the Human Principal, appearing blackened and wounded, though it was slowly starting to heal itself as the Human Principle was want to do with it's self-inflicted damage. It wasn't going to be fast enough however, as the beast responded in kind, this time releasing a stream of cold ghostly pale flames directly in front of itself which gathered and billowed into a similarly large cascading wall of flame that began to flood then envelop the street, threatening to reduce him to ashes upon contact.

(Inton: Ten ni Henkō) – Yin Release: Change into Heaven
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: N/A
Chakra: N/A (+50 chakra cost to applied technique)
Description: The user manipulates a technique of the basic 5 elements with Yin natured energy, allowing the user to change its physical properties. Fire can become solid, lightning can become tangible, water can become invisible. Possibilities are limited to changes in physical properties; more specifically, this means that one cannot transform a flame into a spiritual flame, or make a rock intangible. The user must be able to clearly define what the new technique is within realistic limitations. If, for example, the user makes Swamp of the Underworld into something solid then it might neutralize the entire point of the technique. The resulting technique must be described logically; if this condition is not met then the technique might outright fail. The end result is a technique neutral to all basic elemental natures. This technique is applied within the same timeframe as the technique it is applied to. The infused chakra increases the technique by an additional ten, but costs fifty in total.

Note: Yin Release Specialists and Yin-Yang users can apply this technique to advanced fields, CE, and advanced elements.
Note: Using Change into Heaven to transform the inherent nature of an element does not modify its base speed.
Note: Usable 3 times per battle and 6 times per arc.
(Katon: Gōka Mekkyaku) - Fire release: Great Fire Majestic Annihilation
Type: Offensive
Rank: S
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description: A technique where the user makes the horse hand seal and then kneads chakra inside his body which is then converted into fire and expelled from the mouth as a massive wall of intense flames, which covers an expansive range in both vertical and horizontal dimensions, making it extremely difficult to avoid. However, due to its massive width and height, the technique is not one of the fastest seen so far.

Watching the imposing, but not particularly fast wall of flames approaching, Emiya reaffirms his grip on Tsumukari as he bounces the blade faintly up and down in his grasp. Though he was without his body, he knew now more sure than ever that he could win with the tools still at his disposal. The conditions were right, just like that day back on Kamiyasumi. Backed up against a metaphorical wall, Emiya took a deep breath then ignited his very soul. Where normally he would be emitting a steady stream of embers from his form, Emiya was now a shining beacon of Atavistic Flame. His spiritual form shone a vibrant yellow and orange hue as cracks formed across his body, flames spilling forth from this unique vessel the Human principal had found itself contained within. His eyes bright like burning stars, with each second that passed his body was tearing itself apart before repairing that same damage only a moment later. His form danced with life and light, teetering almost too close to the brink of death. Like one of Marzan's works Emiya was undergoing a spiritual tempering that saw him shatter, before reforging him stronger than ever. A body that flash forged itself over and over and over, countless times, seeking a perfect edge to overcome this threat to his humanity.

(Ishi no Ikinobiru: Taika) – Will to Survive: Blaze
Type: Mode
Rank: S
Range: N/A
Chakra: N/A (-20 per turn)
Damage: N/A (+30)
Description: Will to Survive is an empowered state of spirit and soul, strengthening the user on multiple combat dimensions. The potency of the mode is divided between three different levels depending on the user’s mastery over their Atavistic Flame. Entering this form is comparatively complicated to Sage Mode even though the modes are similar in functionality. Atavistic Flame is recognized as humanity’s collective will to persevere; because of this it is actually optimal to activate the Will to Survive when the user is at their weakest, rather than at their strongest as is with Sage Mode. Upon activation Blaze will take the user’s missing Health Points from their maximum and multiply that value by 6. This value represents the user’s total reserves from the use of Atavistic Flame techniques and the mode’s sustainment. The mode is deactivated once the user has expended these reserves. While active the user becomes resistant to all sources of damage, reducing them by 25 points. The user becomes able to passively sense sources of life around their position with enhanced tracking, reflexes, perception, and speed by x3. Their usage of Atavistic Flame techniques is enhanced further, strengthening them by an additional 30 damage. The user’s body will dance with flames flickering from their skin, with embers raging off of it as they dance outward. Their sclera shift toward a brilliant yellow. While active the user regenerates their missing Health Points at a rate of 40 per turn, applying to both physical and spiritual damage.

Note: Atavistic techniques used in this mode still inflict recoil damage if they do by default. Atavistic effective Chakra value is reduced from the total mode's resources while in use.
Note: While active the user does not suffer from Health Fatigue, spiritual or physical, at all.
Note: Usable only by Masters and Grandmasters of Atavistic Flame. Blaze can be used twice per battle. Masters and Grandmasters can use a third activation on their Hollow Flame.
Note: The activation of Will to Survive is not restricted by Combat Fatigue.

Emiya's Health = 65. Difference between 240 & 65 is 175. 175 x 6 (Blaze Multiplier) = 1050.
Health: 65 +10 (Blaze of Glory turn 1) +40 (Will to Survive passive healing) = 115.

"Alright, let's do this... Cause I don't have all fᴜcking day."

Taking a single step forward, Emiya performs a sweeping motion with Tsumukari, swiping upwards with the blade. In a flash a streak of light flashed throughout the haunting veil, illuminating it with even more light than Emiya's form. The purely physical shockwave carved through the rotten spirit's flames, sweeping them to the side as the shockwave of force and flame carved a horn from the spirit's head. Falling to the ground with a muted thud, the horn began to slowly unravel, it's form vanishing into faint wisps of pale blue light before vanishing in the air.

(Muramasa Ittōryū: Homura) Demon Blacksmith One Sword Style: Blaze
Type: Offensive
Rank: S-Rank - Forbidden
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: N/A - 50
Damage: 80 - 90 (-5 to user for 4 turns) 80 + 30 (Tsumukari Passive) = 110.
Description: One of few techniques created by a fabled blacksmith to test the parameters of his creations, it embodies the essence of the smith himself; casting and forging with one's whole body and spirit, to the point of burning up oneself. With a single blade in their hand, the user places all of their physical strength behind an otherwise generic, formless swing. The end result is a vacuum-like shockwave similar in appearance to "(Suraisu Shinku no Nami) - Slicing Crimson Wave", albeit stronger, and with a unique effect. As a result of the extreme physical force the technique is performed with, the resulting wave burns a bright scarlet red, and emits a tremendous amount of heat, a result of friction between the air and the shockwave itself. Despite this, Blaze itself is not considered a Fire Release technique, but does carry logical characteristics thereof. This usage of the technique is S ranked.

Blaze Ex (Forbidden Rank): By gathering Fire Release Chakra throughout their body, and channeling it into their swing, the user can perform a much more potent variation of this technique, referred to as Blaze Ex. This converts the slash into a Fire Release Kenjutsu technique, while at the same time increasing the technique's strength into that of a Forbidden Rank, though the technique is otherwise physically identical. This results in self-inflicted recoil damage in the form of extreme internal temperatures, causing the user to take 5 damage per turn for 4 turns. Blaze Ex also carries additional beneficial effects once the original attack has been performed, derived from the extreme temperatures both the user's body and blade carry as a result of the technique. As their body burns up, all of the user's Raw and Chakraless Taijutsu, Kenjutsu, Bukijutsu, etc are automatically converted into Fire Release techniques, and gain a +20 increase in damage to all techniques that benefit from this infusion of the Fire Element. These effects remain for the same duration as the recoil damage, a max of 4 turns, however if at any time during this duration the user either gathers or utilizes Water Release Chakra, or is struck by an opposing Offensive Water Release Jutsu of at least A-Rank, the effects, both negative and positive, are cancelled out, and instead the user suffers recoil depending on whether they trigger the former or latter. In the former, the user immediately takes 20 damage in recoil for the rapid cooling of their body. In the latter, the damage of the incoming technique is increased by +20, not counting as a buff to the opposing Jutsu but rather an increase in overall damage received by the user.

Blaze Exceed (Forbidden Rank): If the user performs their second usage of Blaze Ex before the effects of their first have expired, this overclocks the user's body, resulting in a "stacked usage", referred to as Blaze Exceed. This doubles all effects both positive and negative from the original usage, with the exception of damage which is an additional +10 for a total +30 boost, and the added restriction that neither instances of the recoil damage can be mitigated or negated in any way, such as with the Yang Release Specialty. This refreshes the timer associated with Blaze Ex back to 4 turns, and is otherwise is identical to the regular usage of Blaze Ex, following the same rules and restrictions as mentioned above. If performed, once Blaze Exceed's duration has ended, the user suffers several negative side effects from effectively setting their body ablaze. The user's Taijutsu, Kenjutsu, Bukijutsu, etc deal 20 less damage, while the user themselves take an additional 20 damage from all incoming sources of physical damage, while the user suffers 10 damage from all of their Fire Release techniques, regardless of Rank. These effects persist until healed, requiring healing equivalent to "Yang Release: Touch of the Sun" to be removed.

Note: S-Rank can be used 3 times per battle with a 2 turn cooldown.
Note: Forbidden Rank can be used twice, with a 3 turn cooldown.

Reeling from the strike, but still very much standing, taking a moment to ponder the horn now sat in the muck at it's feet, the spirit then looked up and let out a roar to... Nothing. There was nothing there. Nothing to direct it's wrath and fury to, nothing to consume or devour. It was as though Emiya had vanished in the blink of an eye. It wasn't until it's skull felt a tremendous weight pressing down on it that the beast realized that Shirō had taken to the air to deliver a downward strike to it's skull. It didn't know that Emiya had used Atavistic Flame as both a propulsion method and means of an aerial foothold to deliver the strike over simply leaping into the air. All it knew was searing pain from above.

(Kaen Kakkusei Iden: Jinsei no Suiryoku) – Atavistic Flame: Thrust of Life
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A
Range: N/A
Chakra: N/A
Damage: N/A
Description: Thrust of Life is an Atavistic technique used to enhance the user’s speed, considered the opposite of Ancient Insight. The technique is activated the cost of a move, visually appearing as flames bursting from the user’s body to increase their movement speed by x3. A Grandmaster's speed is increased by 4x. The technique lasts for a maximum of four turns and consumes 5 spiritual Health Points per turn it is active. The user regenerates 5 every other turn while active. It can be stacked with Ancient Insight and is usable three times per battle.
(Kaen Kakkusei Iden: Moeru Kaidan no Michi) – Atavistic Flame: Path of Burning Steps
Type: Supplementary
Rank: A-Rank
Range: N/A
Chakra: N/A
Damage: N/A
Description: Path of Burning Steps is an Atavistic technique used to enhance the user's mobility while under the effects of Thrust of Life. The technique is activated passively alongside Thrust of Life, and lasts for its duration. The user of Path of Burning Steps will use the physically explosive force of Atavistic Flame to create momentary footholds and propulsion as needed, giving them a limitless range of movement. This technique adds 5 spiritual Health to the cost of Thrust of Life's upkeep cost. The user regains 5 additional health every other turn while Thrust of Life is active, as part of the same health regeneration.

Note: Usable three times per battle, per each use of Thrust of Life.
(Kenjutsu: Ichimonji) - Sword Technique: Straight-line
Type: Offensive
Rank: B-S
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage: 40 - 80 + 30 (Tsumukari Passive) +10 (Armor Sleeve Single Hit) = 120
Description: A simple blow delivered with one's sword in a straight line, usually an overhead strike. Capable of shattering stone and severing trees with one strike, mastery of this simple technique is necessary on the path of becoming a master swordsman, and variations of it exist in almost any school of swordsmanship.

Note: S Rank version is usable three times; A rank version is usable 6 times.

Emiya's Health: 115 -10 (Thrust of Life + Path of Burning Steps) +10 (Blaze of Glory Turn 2) +40 (Will to Survive) = 165.

With the Rotten Ancestral Spirit completely outclassed in terms of speed, damage and sheer willpower Emiya began applying as much pressure as he could, not giving the monster any room to breathe or gather the energy to trap him in another Genjutsu. A flurry of slashes saw the spirit cry out in pain but Emiya kept up the attacks. This corrupted soul would know rest, not the endless torment it found itself in. Slash after slash, swipe after swipe he carved into the hide, watching the form repair itself but taking more and more time with each new injury inflicted. It was nearing the limit of all the energy it had stolen and devoured and hoarded over the years, Emiya could almost picture each and every soul the spirit had devoured being released, thanking him for finally ending their suffering. Whether or not that was actually the case, it was a comforting thought to him all the same. It made this savagery seem more like a mercy than anything else. Lashing out in anger and pain, countless familiar blackened arms sprouted from the beast's form, aiming to ensnare Emiya and finally consume his essence. If not, at the very least it hoped to ensnare him with a spiritual parasite that would eat away at his Chakra, weakening him to the point that he could be devoured.

(Inton: Gaki no Jutsu) - Yin Release: Hungry Ghost Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: N/A (+50)
Damage: N/A
Description: Hungry Ghost is a spiritual parasite created through the user’s Yin Release chakra. When using an elemental jutsu, the user will form the ram hand seal to seal the hungry ghost within their technique. Sealing the hungry ghost inside one’s technique happens within the same timeframe as their elemental technique. When the user’s technique clashes with another technique, the parasitic Yin Chakra will eat away at the chakra within the technique, weakening it by one rank. Once the hungry ghost consumes foreign chakra it is released and immediately attaches itself to the source of the foreign chakra (the opponent). From there, the parasite continues to eat away at the enemy’s chakra every time they use techniques (all techniques reduce in rank and power by 1 degree). Once the Hungry Ghost is released, its tether is immediate and cannot be blocked or circumvented by ordinary means. The effects of Hungry Ghost last for 4 turns.

Note: Can only be used 5 times per battle and cannot be used on the same target more than twice.
Note: Surges or Barriers that utilize Yin, Yang, Yin-Yang or Natural Energy can break or prevent the tethering of the Hungry Ghost.
Note: Yin Release Specialists and Yin-Yang users can use advanced elements and CE.
Note: Hungry Ghost can only be used on S-rank techniques and below.

There was exactly one issue with that. Emiya currently had none. Everything he had performed up until now was a result of his physical techniques engraved into his person, or his spiritually fueled Atavistic techniques. Ironically by being reduced to a "weaker" state Emiya had found his strength, no longer afflicted with choice paralysis. With a limited arsenal his path to victory became clear, so as he released another series of slashes, carving the spiritual hands asunder without making contact as he danced through the air above the beast. Propelling himself at immense speeds with the Human Principal in an intricate, dizzying pattern Shirō gracefully painted the skies and earth with a beautiful waltz as a torrent of blades of light leapt from Tsumukari.

(Mizutori no Odori) - Waterfowl Dance
Type: Offensive
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short (Short-Mid)
Chakra Cost: N/A
Damage: 80 +30 (Tsumukari) = 110
Description: An offensive Kenjutsu technique executable only by those with immaculate footwork and unparalleled bladework, the user will perform a series of one footed leaps during which they release a rapid flurry of fluid strikes, able to strike enemies in any direction from the user and overwhelm inferior combatants with the deluge of rapid, well placed strikes. The leap from the technique is enough to carry the user forward one range tier while performing the attack.

Note: Usable three times per battle with a turn cool down in between usages.

Emiya's Health: 165 +10 (Blaze of Glory Turn 3) +40 (Will to Survive) = 215.

With another horrifying screech from the body of the deer itself spilled forth a dark mass of energy that, while still clung to it's body, took the form of a rotted dragon. The two bodies merged as one, the degradation of this monster's form was clear to see. As he coasting above the spiritual deer-dragon Emiya stopped his momentum for only a moment and tossed Tsumukari up into the air. Spinning in an arc, as the blade fell back down to Emiya he threw all his weight and strength behind a single solitary punch to the blade's hilt, firing Tsumukari like a bullet. The Anti-Divine projectile was met with a stream of blue flame, and while some resistance was given in an instant the blade pierced through both the dragon and it's host, leaving a streak of light that shone for several seconds before fading.

(Inton: Dai Mugen Ryu) - Yin Release: Great Phantom Dragons
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Rank: S
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 150
Damage: 100 | 120 (for multi-element)
Description: A more powerful version of “Yin Release Hungry Ghost Technique.” Rather than the user arbitrarily adding their Yin Release chakra to a specific technique, the user will create a number of large, elemental dragons using any of the basic elements plus their Yin Release chakra. The user can create up to 5 serpentine dragons which, once created, can act independently according to the user’s will. Due to the user being able to manipulate multiple elements at once, each dragon created can be of a different nature. Each dragon will also have the absorption properties of “Hungry Ghost,” thus becoming even more dangerous. However, due to the massive amount of chakra and control needed to use these dragons, the user can only control two dragons at any given time. While the dragons are present, the user cannot use any Yang Release or elemental techniques of the natures that currently exist within the dragons. Yin Release Specialists and Yin-Yang users can combine two natures together in order to make a multi-elemental dragon or even a dragon consisting of an advanced element or CE that they know. However, in doing so they will only be able to create two dragons.

Note: Can only be used 2 times per battle.
(Muramasa Ittōryū: Kyasutōfu) Demon Blacksmith One Sword Style: Cast Off
Type: Offensive/ Supplementary
Rank: B-Rank/ A-Rank/ S-Rank
Range: Short - Long
Chakra: N/A
Damage: 40/ 60/ 80 +30 (Tsumukari Passive) +10 (Armor Sleeve Single Hit) = 120
Description: Although not a traditional skill of the Muramasa school, the smith had the habit of vehemently tossing works he considered imperfect. This in and of itself would be negligible if it were not for the sheer force with which he dismissed them, easily able to carve a path through stone. As such, it was immortalized in the Muramasa school as "Cast Off", a technique where one intentionally, violently jettisons their weapon towards a target, attempting to penetrate through whatever happens to be in the weapon's path. This is done through physical strength alone, requiring no Chakra on the user's part, however there is a secondary effect that this technique produces. Starting at +20, for each +10 damage points the user's Kenjutsu receives, whether through passive or active means, the sword's speed is multiplied, with the user's base speed acting as the base for the weapon. The Rank of this technique is directly tied to the damage increase(s) the user employs alongside this technique, with B-Rank being usable while the user applies +20, A-Rank becoming accessible at +30, and S-Rank requiring +40. Even if the user has a higher boost than required for a stronger application, they can opt to use a weaker application if they wish. The speed boosts associated with each Rank also naturally scale, with the B-Rank granting a x2 boost, A-Rank granting a 2.5x boost, and the S-Rank granting a 3x boost to the projectile's speed. The boosts do not need to be purely Kenjutsu based, and only require that they empower the user's Kenjutsu and follow reasonable logic. For example a boost to the user's Taijutsu that allows them to throw harder via strengthened muscles would apply, as would Elemental infusions, like a Wind Or Lightning Release infusions allowing the blade to more easily cut through the air, or Fire acting as a propellant, etc. Finally, if the user wishes to not inflict damage with this attack, they can opt to throw the weapon with the hilt aimed at the target, with the base damage inflicted being equivalent to a freeform attack, with no usage limit.

Note: Can be performed 4 times per battle, twice for the B-Rank application, and two shared between the A-Rank and S-Rank applications. Additionally, the user must wait 2 turns between uses.
Note: After using the S-Rank application, the user cannot perform S-Rank or above Taijutsu or Kenjutsu for 2 turns.

Emiya's Health: 215 +40 (Will to Survive) = 240.
Atavistic Energy: 1050 -60 (Thrust + Path) -80 (4 "turns" of Will to Survive) = 910.

Landing on the ground over a dozen meters away as he still feared the spirit could lash out and kill him, he watched as the dragon's form solidified and crumbled away to dust, with the rotten spirit slowly following suit. Emiya followed the trajectory of his technique, catching sight of Tsumukari embedded in the ground several feet from the spirit. Still too close to safely acquire it just yet... Even as it's body was withering away, the spirit was reaching towards Emiya, still intent on claiming him. With the threat almost completely neutralized Shirō began to sigh in relief. The ancestral spirit began crying out, not in anger or rage, but fear. Weak calls out into the vast emptiness of space to someone that couldn't possibly be listening as only the Hero of Justice was spectator to these last moments. Though he himself wasn't particularly religious, Emiya placed a hand over his heart and gave a prayer.

"Whatever awaits you after this... I pray you find a world where you won't suffer any longer.
A world where you may find a warm, small share of happiness."

Emiya stood witness over the spirit's last moments, noticing that at it's corrupted core, there lay a simple deer of ethereal blue coloration, just like the humans. It was most likely lost, alone, confused and lashing out at anyone and anything it could find, all while doing what it did best in life. Protecting it's lands and grazing from them. Gorging itself upon the energies of the lost souls from Innovus in tandem with Tobusekai's now cursed lands, it was no wonder the beast turned out the way it had... Only once the spiritual deer was completely gone did Emiya approach and retrieve Tsumukari. Sheathing the blade within it's scabbard clinging to his hip, Emiya finally turned his attention back towards the direction of the Armory.

Through Will to Survive's life sensory Emiya was bombarded with the information that everything surrounding him was "alive", he used the Mode's sensory to carefully navigate through the cancerous web of flesh and sinew and swamp. It took some time and some rather uncomfortably tight squeezes through the rotten mess that engulfed Innovus, but soon Emiya found himself in a room that was almost entirely untouched by the Rot. In it's center lay the trap door leading down into the smith's legendary forge. Finally. Passing through the threshold Shirō tried to mentally prepare himself for whatever condition the smith might be in. He'd been alone for over two years, but he'd endured far worse within Irkalla. Emiya was sure this would have seemed like a simple stroll by comparison... Surely...

Coming from 212-A, Armory of Marzan

Ascending the steps Emiya was met with the same rotting, decaying sights. A room slowly being consumed with red muck, but the trap door leading to the Armory itself seemingly untouched, almost as though the scarlet substance sensed something within and recoiled in fear. But this time he was flesh and bone. Gripping his improvised instruments tightly, each step waking the smith's body from it's lethargic state, Emiya stepped out into the rancid air of the Port. Guided by that odd tugging in his soul while putting Marzan's preservation above all else, Emiya staggred through the ruins of the port city, avoiding the adherents swarming the former city.
