To answer questions. Ichigo is a perfect being, His Shinigami Side keeps his Hollow Powers at bay, his Qunicy Powers keeps his Shinigami Powers at bay, and Hollows keep his Qunicy powers at bay. Also Opie merge with something that wasn't a full hollow, so it wasn't effecting him at that moment. It's like a poison. Also to explain Uryu, I think he's closely related to Bach's bloodline meaning the quality of his blood is potent enough, where he could survive the Genocide of the non-pure qunicies. And a couple of reason why he didn't die to due to fighting hollows. 1. Being almost like Bach who took down THE THIRD ESPADA. 2. Being 25% Human he might have the Anti-Bodies 3. His father might of had something to do with it.

I think Kubo is like a lot of people, making it up as he goes along. All I know is that we'll never have a proper explanation, we just have to accept it.
