The final form of Juubi(which I expected to be a super badass monster and not a ****ing tree) is a separate entity and hence not a transformation. But if that is the case, then other jinchurikis must be able to do that as well

It's no Bijuumode, and Bijuumode can also vary - Bee's BM looks just like Gyuki, while Naruto's looks completely different from normal Kurama. Not to mention that the Juubi and the Juubi Jin's abilities are a lot different then the other Bijuus and their Jins.

Oddly enough, it's a lot like Gaara's Jinchuuriki transformation in Part I. Unlike Naruto and Killer Bee, when he fully transformed into the Ichibi his physical body was still outside of the construct and visible. My guess is that it has to do with the nature of the seals used.

Each bijuu lends its own unique power to his host. Naruto and Kurama can sense evil thoughts, maybe Obito and Shinjuu have the power of Creation.
