its not a plot hole. Madara meant by dieing, that he litaraly died already because maybe he was already to old to live on without the mazou so he was caged and only a shell of himself left there without any purpose, but waiting. For madara this maybe was death, its like he told obito that he is a shinigami, cuz this world is already hell, and maybe because of obito he hat new faith to belive that his plan could get fullfied.

It is a plot hole you ignorant fool. I was being lenient to the opinion he might have been figuratively dead but thats bs because madara was revived as an edo so he had to have reallydied. And ill call his plot/ story w.e the fck i want you clueless noob.

As i said to the other guy he had to have really died cuz he was revived as an edo. Ifs and maybes dont cut it nor does your speculation clarify this obvious flaw. Pretty true...I hope the excuse isn't that because he has lived over 100 years that 20 is a short time for him...I still don't like the thought that Nagato was "Given" his Rinnegan when he is first back flashed he unlocks it as his parents died. Nagato has gone from being a destined child to nothing but someone who was given his strength from an Uchiha....It was so much better when before, and I agree...it does make a story problem.

to my knowledge, and correct me if im wrong, nagato never showed his eyes until his parents death. as if he knew he had it, and didnt want anyone to see. maybe that emotional moment caused him to blindly use its powers.

he supposedly died in VotE.... then he supposedly re-died after giving the rinnegan to Nagato? then he supposedly did finally die, but not for long as he was brought back with edo tensei (originally meant to be rinne tensei)... does anyone really know if Madara actually ever died for real? he and Orochimaru are in some sort of competition.

Maybe he unlocked Rinnegan, died, his eyes got transplanted by someone to Nagato, then Madara was revived somehow, connected himself to the Mazo and had a spare Sharingan implanted, then years later met Obito and died a short while after.

Zetsu and/or Orochimaru could be part of this.

Minato's entire life passed between nagato awakening the rinnegan and obito getting crushed, so im pretty sure that makes it a generation. Remember jiraiya would train the 4th after training nagato, and since it was a team from konoha minato and co would have been the age of part 1 team 7 . (12 years old). But 3 years before that nagato already had his rinnegan. Making minato 9. Minato died a year after kannabi bridge at the age of 27 i think. Sooo, a year before he was 26, so 26-9= 17. Thats 17 years between the two events of jiraiya meeting nagato and obito getting crushed by the rocks. Whats worse is that nagato was obviously given his rinnegan some years before he met jman, making 20 years a reasonable estimate. And in no way can that much time be caled 'shortly' .

Note: jiraiya trained nagato for 3 years, thats why i subtracted 3 from minatos age.
