Try using the Lasso Tool (the little rope looking icon underneath the Rectangular Marquee Tool on the left-hand side of the screen). Zoom in closer to the image until you can clearly see the dot by itself, and it isn't too close to the margin lines on the page. Circle the small dots (one at a time) with the lasso tool, right click on the selection, and click Fill. When the popup menu appears, click "Content-Aware", keep the blending mode at "Normal" and the Opacity at 100%.
I just did it now, so I can show you the final result (it's almost midnight here, so this probably isn't my best, but it'll do the job). The guideline dots you used should be, at least, much less visible than before.

Same thing I did can be done. Just gotta be careful with it though, since the method I used can't be done to remove everything. It's mainly done to get rid of small things like watermarks or blemishes. If there are other small bits and pieces you want to remove, you can use the method I gave. Granted, I learnt this method from someone (he's viewing the thread at the time of me posting this), so I don't know the full extent of which you can use this trick. But I know that it will work for the purpose you intend for it.
