besides i am going to be busy for next 2 months..
so my chances of participating in any competition on narutobase are very less.

I have taken a picture but I am not happy with it. The leaves haven't changed for the majority of the trees. It still looks like it's summer
most probably just before the end date, I might be able to get some good fall color leaves in my picture.

As there is currently only one valid submission posted, I was thinking of extending the submission period for another week however I am not quite sure how many of you would actually take place even if I were to extend the period?

You cannot submit photos of yourself and photos of people may only be used if you are taking a picture of a public scene.

About the first one: From what I remember, as long as it has "NB" mentioned it´s alright.
About the second one: Photos of yourself meaning that it shows yourself. But you didn´t show anyone there (Face was not showing). Also, if I don´t remember wrong, Thor won a contest where there was a person blurred out in the background.
But this is just my opinion. You can ask Akasha for confirmation.

Oh, landscapes, yeah....I really don't think this is a good theme.
It's too narrow and it doesn't let any room for creative ideas.
Plus, I live in a city and I assume I am not the only one. Ain't no landscapes around here and I am not willing to go landscape hunting in the countryside. Also, to take a good quality photo in a theme like that, you need professional equipment, something not everyone has. If I want to take a photo of a large area with depth it's almost impossible, since many details wont be captured due to the quality of the device. Lastly, I really don't like the fact that this theme requires you to go out to take the pic. If someone wants to take an outdoor pic it's ok, but generally I find it very limiting choosing a theme that you can't create inside your house.
I think some factors like time, equipment required, difficulty due to natural conditions, should be more considered when choosing a theme.

only 2 enteries in recent PhotM ? anyways, congrats to all winners and participants .
i logged in after a month or two and i see a lot of changes here.
i couldnt and i probably wont be participating for couple of months because of my hectic schedule.
i am visiting nb right now,only because wanted to check how its going with photM and got a notification of a pm via email.
anyways,
i see that
photM doesnot seem to be running smoothly.
i would like to make a suggestion.
"number of participants" is a very essential factor if we want to measure the overall behavior (or success) of a competition.
organizers and managers of this competition should implement or improvise few things in order to do so.
if we observe the current situation, we can conclude that "the quality" is improving.
its good thing but only for us or rather only for those users who are trying to improve the quality by giving skilled inputs as the competition progresses. As i said, its a good thing. its good for me as well, i dont mind at all. i would actually love it.
this is our/participants point of view.
but what about rest of the nb's point of view?
most of the users would think this competition requires 'high class' photography skills , which most of the users donot have.
result- lesser number of participants.
from my point of view, this competition can be administrated in 2 different ways.
1. just like current situation, we focus on photography skills and arrange our themes accordingly.
probable result - its good for handful of users so only.so only selected members will be taking the part in every PhotM's competition.
2. we simplify it. we will create simpler themes and we focus on competition's main purpose-" connecting narutobase to real life"
probable result - number of participants will hopefully get increased.
Narutobase is filled with teenagers. Think from their point of views.
we can make simple themes so that it would become easier for an average nb user to participate.
Themes such as - Narutobase with your Favorite food , Narutobase with your Town's speciality etc.
what themes to decide? - we can figure that out later.
right now, we have to decide our approach towards this competition.

I guess the biggest reason for people to not take part in this contest are that most of them aren't pro at making photography.
I remember few months ago the themes were easier and people were free to play with their creativity rather than putting tons of skills in to the pic to make it look pro as much as it can.
So ofc there is no interest if the winner will be one of the people that have expericane in making pro pictures and you have like no chance to win.

Well themes which are dependent on seasons, weather, area and etc should be neglected,
Landscape is very hard, only the people who are living in country side or near the landscapes, can take photograph and above all they will be needing the pro equipment.
Well, may be there should be a way to submit a new themes and its selection for up coming months.
