For me it'd be jiraya then gaara and then itachi may be..
Minato, Madara, Tobi etc all had their characters ruined in war arc...
You definitely understand me

Can you blame Gaara for supporting Naruto? Dude saved him from his demons. Apply that to yourself, and you'd be greatful af to your liberator. Gaara's Character in the War Arc only peaked higher.
Leadership skills showed.
Powerwise, he skyrocketed.
Emotionally he developed.
He improved so much in the War Arc.
Lmao @ saying Gaara was trash.
Yeah you're right, and I'm not saying that Gaara shouldn't be grateful to Naruto, or that he's a bad character for agreeing with Naruto. Gaara is a great character, but I just don't see him as a perfect character. Same with Neji, Nagato and Obito. All these guys were turned by Naruto when they could have had enough sense from the beginning to think for themselves instead of being taken by darkness, but this is how the story was supposed to go so I can't argue about it
I appreciate characters that go through hell and still have enough sense to make the right decisions, and not have to be picked up by other people, Kakashi, Jiraiya etc.

@ Bold. Well you have to understand Gaara 110% to know why he couldn't simply overcome the darkness. He was born into Darkness. Only light from the outside can purify such deep malevolence. Peep this thread written by DrProof:

Naruto/Team 7 saved Sasuke from his lonelines. in Part 1, did that stop him from going rouge. Ultimately he had a mission to accompish something Naruto couldn't fill. His parents were also slaughtered and he saw them being murdered. Yet though his team made him feel like a family, he didn't hesitate to say that " Naruto you know nothing about me". Gaara could have questioned him further or even ask for further clarification if he is confused like Sasuke. Look he should be grateful but not to the point where your whole motive to become a Kage is because 1 man friendzoned you and said that he felt your pain.
Kakashi was a better leader than Gaara but ok I commend him for at least showing his power as a Kage. Powerwise he did but this doesn't make him a perfect character at all. Edo Madz solos btw. It's about time he emotionally developed. While he takes years pondering about his resolve, Naruto takes just few seconds to emotionally develop especially when it comes to resolves. Look he hated Sasuke with a passion but when it came to the point where his life was in danger he would selflessly attempt to get him back, Gaara would have to been told that shit.He is just a bland character.
You know what, now that I think about it, Gaara didn't really have any friends when he was little, and his mother died when he was born. His father assigned anbu members to assassinate him(his own son), and he had a tailed beast inside him which made everyone fear him.
I guess it is a good thing that he looks up and admires Naruto since Naruto was pretty much the first person to save him from the darkness.
Yeah, Gaara had a terrible life but he turned out a good character.
What about itachi..he is perfect and not terrible at the same time
Itachi also has his flaws, his main one is that he's good enough to have his own manga instead of being a side character. In terms of sticking to a role Sakura is better cause she doesn't interfere with the MC but as an overall character Itachi is obviously the best.

We've discussed thisSakura is better cause she doesn't interfere with the MC
``Sticking to a role"-sakura
What kind of stupid role
She first like sasuke on basis of his apperance and treat naruto as trash
Then sasuke leave the village and became rogue ninja she try to kill him and became nice to naruto
She even promise not be a burden but in the very end just due to plot she able to touch kaguya otherwise she is burden

No his pain was far worser than Gaara's or maybe equal. How can he blindly accept Naruto's words if Naruto knew nothing about him. Gaara could accept him as he was from the same nature as Naruto. Put yourself in Sasuke shoes and then tell me who is lying to themselves.
Oh yeah, I got distracted by my Gaara hate but also Minato being a perfect character is a joke at best.
> An irresponsible Sensei who claimed he was "busy" which caused the death of Rin. If he was there at least she wouldn't be forced to be the Sanbi's jinchuriki. Also let Obito slipped into darkness, leaving a whole in Kakashi's heart.
> He was a good father but he could've prevented his own death. Minato is so goddamn overrated as a character.
I agree he has depth to his character for sure and being viewed as a monster was terrible. Hence why I believe Part 1 Gaara was interesting. While he does need to look up to Naruto as that was his one best friend who saved him from the darkness, he also needs to develop his own resolve for why he wants to be a Kage, for why he wants to protect his own people. Is it because he enjoys doing it or he wants to become popular after making one friend that was his true friend. His basic reason as to why he wanted to become Kage was to get rid of the lonlieness and gain acceptance into this world. That sounds a lot like a certain character. I can understand the way he felt but after gaining acceptance I was never really into Gaara.
Gaara had a worse past than Sasuke. Sasuke had his whole clan murdered by his brother, that is sad no doubt. That's easily Top 5 material.
But Gaara was alone from the beginning, his father tried to have him killed. His father also sealed Shukaku inside of his son as an experiment. Literally he was the village's guinea pig, his uncle hated him, when Gaara thought he was the only family member to ever love him. Everything Gaara did was perceived as wrong.
At least Sasuke knew what love, and friendship was as a kid. Gaara didn't have the luxury for 13-14 years. That's longer than Sasuke had to deal with the death of the Uchiha clan.
Also you can't seclude Pt.1 and Pt.2 character development they are one in the same. Gaara had the most character development or should I say one of the best from Pt.1 to Pt.2 and that's all there really is to it. His resolve to become a Kage was actually to protect the people he loved, and to purify the sins he committed.
Gaara is much more than you give him credit for.
Sakura is perfect. She has pink hair, can punch hard, and got the pretty boy of her dreams. What else is there to life?
