so many people write him off as a great ninja but the man before kakashi was UNDEFEATED and he's killed i imagine dozens of highly ranked ninja during that time for money. kakashi is the leafs #1 jonin, the only other jonin at that time that would have beaten him was gai sensei who you all know is kakashis equal. asuma and team asuma would have been slaughtered, asuma's main element was fire and zabuzas water it's opposite not to mention asuma was defeated in part two by hidan who imo zabuza would of sliced into a million pieces. the hidden mist and his silent killing were the best he was almost a perfect assassin he basically beat kakashi but didn't respect naruto and sasuke's abilities and was caught off guard by his arrogance.
a man who's completed 29 A ranked missions and 12 S ranked ones. He's a legendary swordsman of the mist which is a enormous title, the man tried to assassinate the mitzukage for christs sake and didn't die because of it. a man who killed 100 ninja before becoming a f'ing genin. without sharingan kakashi would of been dead. He's at the very least an A ranked missing in, probably an S ranked one in reality. Not to even mention his jutsu which includes a steel strong water prison and high ranking water jutsu that kakashi couldn't break out of and other jutsu like water dragon jutsu.
Obviously he's not on kisame's level but kisame had a better sword and insane levels of chakra not to mention insane strength and both he and zabuza were incredibly intelligent, espeically zabuza. certain guys are bad matches for him like suigetsu for instance but most would die handily. It would of been badass to see zabuza become good and raise a team of genin, talk about being scared of your leader.
Zabuza would be a huge asset to any team with his unique abilities and strength which is able to swing the beheader sword like it's nothing, something suigetsu a great swordsman and swordsman of the mist level ninja who is adept at the swords can't use properly without making his muscles huge.
