People prefer to discredit Obito instead of admitting Kakashi's increasing strength

Instead of simply admitting it, which would actually agree with the general shonen theme of characters getting more powerful, when some people saw that Kakashi is gaining the upper edge against Obito, they decided that it is then Obito who is supposedly weaker than they thought.

Really? I can already see where this is going - when Kakashi manages to defeat Obito, some will not take it as a valid proof of Kakashi's strength, instead they will try to discredit Obito and say he never was anything special actually.

Obito is currently the strongest alive character in Narutoverse - and probably the fourth strongest of all (after Hashi, Madara and Nagato, not counting SO6P). If this changes for him in any way if Kakashi defeats him, it's not because he suddenly fell down in ranking, but because someone else has climbed up. Learn the difference.

I disagree. Obito himself said Nagato was stronger than him (MS Obito). Thus, Kamui alone would not be enough to deal with Nagato.

Nagato has the best chance out of the three seeing as he has the only counter to the warping part of Kamui.


However, Obito now possess the Rinnegan and, in his prime, possessed 6 Edo jinchuriki and 7 Bijuu with them in the Gedo Mazo.

Nagato would honestly get overwhelmed.

Kamui can be (easily) countered by Shadow Clone or Kamui. Kakashi posses both counters.

Furthermore, it seems like Obito doesn't even have Preta Path after he admitted that Kakashi could have killed him with a Raikiri.

And he has proven that by returning all by himself from the kamui dimension.

The only upper hand obito has is his Senju Dna for increased endurance and the inability to feel pain.
That is a significant advantage but,......that still does not mean his overall skills in battle are better then kakashi's.

Kamui has its weakness. I don't think obito can defeat a rinnegan user with about 35 years of experience. I wonder if obito can survive hashirama's justu for 10 mins straight with kamui... oh wait, obito cannot use kamui for more than 5 mins.hmm

Obito has the original eye. All he needed was Senju DNA and Katon as big as a God to use Kamui in more versatile ways.

And he has proven that by starting a war by himself and impersonating Madara Uchiha.

Some people are a better matchup than others. Kamui is no longer a factor and Obito without kamui.....exactly. It would be no surprise to me if Kakashi can beat him but it doesn't mean Kakashi is stronger overall or got any more powerful. If Obito doesn't phase for fear of being hit by an attack from Juubi or SA I think Kakashi has the upperhand.

Pretty much this. Kakashi didn't do anything to increase his rank or make him stronger than he was two weeks ago. Its just his fans overrating him because he got the jump on Obito.

Obito is still way above Kakashi and we will see how when Kakashi either gets the living crap beaten out of him, or the fight ends with Obito being good. Kakashi defeating Obito in this dimension is highly unlikely.

Take away the MS from both of them and Obito is still clearly superior to him.

I agree, the progress of one character does not mean other characters get weaker. That's actually how characters get underrated IMO
